What does the Bible say about being free from sin?

In John 8:36, Jesus declares, 'If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.' This freedom is relational and spiritual, denoting liberation from the guilt and power of sin. Romans 8:1-4 reinforces this by stating that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because He has fulfilled the law on our behalf.
