What does the Bible say about being free from sin?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that believers are set free from the law of sin and death through the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2).

Romans 8:2 states that 'for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.' This means that through salvation in Christ, believers are no longer bound by the condemnation of sin. The law of sin brings death and judgment upon those who are unregenerate, but in Christ, we find liberation. He fulfilled the law, becoming the perfect substitute for our sins, allowing us to stand before God not in our righteousness, but in His. This gift of freedom is not based on our efforts but on the grace of God.
