What does the Bible say about being fruitful?

Scripture speaks abundantly about being fruitful, equating our spiritual lives to that of a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season (Psalm 1). Christ taught that a tree is known by its fruit, emphasizing the necessity of spiritual fruitfulness in John 15:8, where He states that the Father is glorified in our bearing much fruit.
