What does the Bible say about Christ as a Priest?

Hebrews 7:17 states, 'For he testifieth, Thou art a Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.' This highlights the eternal nature of Christ's priesthood, distinguishing it from the Levitical priesthood that required repeated sacrifices.
