What does the Bible say about Christian slavery?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes Christian slavery as a bondservant relationship with Christ, indicating ownership and complete surrender to Him.

In Romans 1:1, Paul refers to himself as a doulos, or slave of Christ, signifying a deep commitment and belonging to the Lord. This term implies not only servitude but also the acknowledgment that the believer has been bought at a price, namely, the death of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:20). Therefore, true Christian slavery entails being owned by Christ, living in obedience to His will, and recognizing that freedom is found in this relationship with Him.
