What does the Bible say about God's justice and justifying sinners?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God can be just and justify sinners through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

God's justice requires that sin be punished, yet He justifies sinners through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This mystery is revealed in the Gospel, where Jesus declares, 'Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more' (John 8:11). While the law condemns as seen in Proverbs 17:15, Christ fulfills the law by taking upon Himself the sins of His people. Thus, God remains just while justifying those who have faith in Christ, fulfilling both mercy and justice at the cross.
