What does the Bible say about God's sovereignty over Satan?

In the story of Job, we see God’s sovereignty clearly displayed when He brings Job to Satan's attention. In Job 1:8, God describes Job as 'a perfect and an upright man.' This declaration confirms God's authority over Job’s life. When Satan seeks to test Job, it is only by God's permission that he can affect Job, as seen in Job 1:12 when God says, 'Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand.'
