What does the Bible say about God's tests on believers?

Answered in 1 source

God tests believers not to discover their faith, but to manifest it and purify them.

The Bible teaches that God tests believers to manifest the genuine faith that He has already given them, as seen in Genesis 22 with Abraham. These tests serve to purify their faith and draw them closer to God. God never tests us beyond what we can bear, as He provides the grace necessary to endure trials. His purpose in allowing tests is ultimately for our good and to show us the depth of His love and provision.
