What does the Bible say about overcoming?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that overcoming is the result of being born again and having faith in Christ, who has already overcome the world.

In Revelation 3:21-22, the promise to overcomers is clear: those who overcome will be granted a place with Christ on His throne. This overcoming is not achieved through our own strength but is rooted in Jesus Christ's victory over sin, death, and all forms of evil. In John 16:33, Jesus assures us, 'In the world, you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.' Thus, the act of overcoming is closely tied to our identity in Christ, who has secured for us eternal victory through His blood, as seen in Revelation 12:11, where it's stated that they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb.
