The book of Revelation here,
chapter three, we're in the last two verses of that third chapter,
the words of the Lord to the church and pastor of Laodicea,
and as in all of the six previous churches, the Lord shares with
them this message, something to the effect, to him that overcometh. Every church has something said
to them with regard to that. Now, just like looking at all
the churches as a whole and seeing how the Lord revealed himself
to those churches and what a blessing that is, and he reveals himself
today in all of those capacities, it is also a delight to go through
here and see how the Lord has promised to those who overcome
these many rich blessings. Now the religion, and I copied
this right out of a book, religion says with regard to overcoming
in Christians, to overcome of Christians that hold fast their
faith even unto death against the power of their foes and temptations
and persecutions. Now, that's generally what is
produced in religion, that we are to hold fast, and then if
we overcome, we've been successful. Now, it was really intriguing
to me one time to watch how they have people go through the air,
particularly when they're making movies. Now, on the screen, it
looks like they're just going through the air. But when they
actually make it, they've got a harness on the person and several
ropes. And the success of them going
through the air is dependent upon the ropes. Now, I've never
liked climbing sharp angles. I've talked to people that have.
Dan seems to like that, going sharp angles. Now, if I'm going
to do that, I want a harness around me and about six strong
people up above pulling me up that. So if I slip, I don't,
I'm not utterly cast down. Now that's what I find in the
scriptures with regard to the Lord Jesus Christ and his people
overcoming. Yes, we may have temptations,
but he has a harness on us and he's pulling us up. Yes, we may
have accusers, but we have a harness put on us and he's pulling us
up. And yes, we may have foes. And yet the Lord has put a harness
on us and he is pulling us up. It is not us in the battle alone. It is not us against temptation
alone. It is not us against persecutions
alone. It is not us against our foes
alone. He has placed a harness on it. Now it's invisible, but it's
there. He has promised it. It is called
His grace. It is called His love. It is
called His mercy. It is cords of love established
to us that draw us along. He is the strong magnet and we're
drawn to Him. So He doesn't leave us on the
cliff. of temptation or foes or persecution. He has a harness about us and
he cannot and will not let us slip. Now that's overcoming. He has promised everyone that
faces the foe Everyone that faces temptation and everyone that
faces persecution, he has promised success and overcoming of all
those things. That's what we want to look at
tonight. Then hopefully, the Lord willing, next week we'll
look at all of these seven sayings combined. I just was blessed
this afternoon in looking at the subject of overcoming and
finding out that it's the Lord that overcame and then he grants
that to us. So would you turn with me to
the book of Revelation chapter 3, and I'd like to read the last
two verses. Excuse me. and then spend our
time on the subject of overcoming. And we're going to visit some
familiar passages of scripture, but there's some that are even
found here in the book of Revelation that share the same word, and
it just is such a victorious overcoming when we follow the
person, the Lord Jesus, and the success of his blood in overcoming
all enemies. Now, here in the book of Revelation,
chapter 3 and verse 21, to him that overcometh, will I grant
to sit with me in my throne. Now this passage of scripture
is to this church who is lukewarm to this church who has forgotten
about the grace of God and all the things that we've said about
this and no doubt there are many more that could be said and yet
those in this body this body of Laodicea Those who overcome,
what does it say? I will grant or will I grant
to sit with me in my throne even as I also overcame and am set
down with my Father in His throne." Now that tells us that just as
the Lord is sitting down at the right hand of the Father, every
overcomer in Laodicea will also get to sit down with Him in His
throne. and every overcomer in Laodicea
will not have anything on every overcomer in the Church at the
Dalles. There will be equality on this
subject. Overcomers will be permitted
to sit down. Now, we're not clamoring up the
wall on our own initiative and scared to death if we fall, we're
going to be out of the race. We have a harness on us. It is
so secure that even though we fall, we shall not be utterly
cast down. Even though we slip, even though
we're going through the appearance of not being able to be very
successful, the cords are on us, the harness has us in its
complete grip and success, and we will be lifted up From peril
to peril, from foe to foe, they will be vanquished by the blood
of the Lord Jesus Christ and by his great success. And every
one of his children will be called overcomers. Why? He overcame. That's what he says in the word.
So let's look at the subject of overcoming and look at a few
other places in the scriptures that share with us the meaning
of this word and particularly the number that is found in the
book of Revelation, the same word overcoming. But in John
chapter 16 and verse 33, the Lord Jesus shares with his disciples,
shares with us, shares with the readers of the book of John. this great statement about overcoming. In John chapter 16 verse 33 it
says, These things have I spoken unto you, that in me you might
have peace, in the world you shall have tribulation, but be
of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Now that's the Lord
Jesus Christ speaking about his own position in this world, his
own position as creator, his own position as redeemer, his
own position as sanctifier. I have overcome all the world
has. I've overcome sin. I've overcome
death. I've overcome hell. I've overcome
the devil. I've overcome the world. I've
overcome all things. and therefore the church in Christ
Jesus will have the same success that he had in overcoming. Now, turn with me back to the
book of Revelation and all of these verses in time we intend
to strike at, to look at, to investigate, but I'd just like
to go through several of them that are found here in the book
of Revelation that carry with it the same meaning, the word
is the same, that's found over there in the book of Revelation
six different times, seven different times, when it comes to Those
in Ephesus, Smyrna, Philadelphia, Laodicea, the rest of those seven
churches, the concluding remarks are, to him that overcometh. And then a promise is given to
them. One of them says, we'll be able
to eat of the tree of life. The second death will have no
power. And that's so wonderful to go through and find out how
successful this harness will be for every believer. It is
strenuous work to be in this world. Strenuous work. It is strenuous work to work
in this world. It is strenuous to put up with
people and things and ideas and philosophies in this world. God's
people are assaulted on every side about their stand for the
truth and for the faith. But he said, I have secured you
and you cannot fall, even if it were possible. if it were
possible to deceive the very elect, but that's not possible.
Now I take comfort in that. Every day, I don't have to worry,
will I be deceived? Well, if I'm one of his chosen,
no. If I'm one of his, no. I will
not, I shall overcome. All right, Book of Revelation
chapter five. And in verse 5, and most of these
verses have to do with a ministry or work or thought about the
Lord Jesus Christ here in the book of Revelation. This is a
book of success. This is a book of great Great
success, power demonstrated. This is the Lord's activity. This is his success in every
aspect. He will not be defeated. He will
be successful. And here we read in the book
of Revelation chapter five and verse five, and one of the elders
said unto me, weep not. Now, we're not very far from
here. In chapter three, we're gonna be taken up to this scene
in heaven. And John is weeping because no
one can open the seals. Now, one of the elders said unto
me, weep not. Behold, the lion of the tribe
of Judah, the root of David. Now, the word overcome here has
been translated, hath prevailed. Now, I like that. That just gives us a little inch
on this word overcoming. It's prevailing. It's enduring
to the end. It's being harnessed up. When
God saves us by his grace, he doesn't wait a while and then
harness us. He harnesses us. In fact, we
find out that that harness has been put on us in eternity past. We heard read there Sunday in
the Bible reading that there in the book of Hebrews, that
ministering spirits minister to those who shall be heirs of
salvation. Now, that's why you and I didn't
die until the Lord revealed himself to us. His ministering spirits
ministered unto us who shall be heirs of salvation. He carried
us along, delivered us from all those things that to some people
took their lives. And here we are, unscathed, and
he brings us to himself. Now he's got us harnessed all
that time and we just discovered it. Now he's taking us on to
glory. But notice in here, weep not,
behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,
this is the Lord Jesus Christ. This is our Savior. This is the
King of Kings. This is the Lord of Lords. This
is Jehovah God. This is the Great I Am. This
is the Amen. This is the Emmanuel. This is
God with us. He's prevailed, the Lion of the
tribe of Judah. It says there, He hath prevailed
to open the book and to loose the seven seals thereof. He is
the revelation or the revealing of this book. He opens up the
mysteries of this book. He opens up the leaves of this
book. He hath prevailed. And that's
the word we find over there with regard to overcoming. They have
prevailed. They have prevailed against their
enemies. Why? Christ prevailed against them.
They have prevailed against temptation and their foes and their persecutions. They have prevailed. This word
overcoming means to prevail also. Go to the end to reach completion,
to find out that when we reach the end, all the miles and miles
of line that have been put out there and drawn up carefully
as we've been harnessed up to bring us up to the steepest of
inclines and to bring us and present us spotless before the
Lamb of God to prevail. Now, in the same book, chapter
6 and verse 2, this word is used twice. this now this is a white
horse and you can hear all kinds of things but this is none other
than our Savior and the word here is conquering and to conquer
now notice this and I saw and behold a white horse and he that
sat on him had a bow and a crown was given unto him and he went
forth conquering and to conquer now that's the same word is overcome
They shall conquer and they shall be conquering. They shall overcome. They shall prevail. This is the
Lord Jesus Christ and his promise to his people about him and his
success is overpowering here in the book of Revelation with
regard to his statements about his ability to open the books.
The line of the tribe of Judah hath prevailed and here conquering, God went forth conquering and
to conquer. Successful in every venture.
Lord of lords, king of kings. Now, just a little farther here
in chapter 12, chapter 12. We read these words about overcoming,
and again, this word is overcame here in this passage of scripture,
Revelation chapter 12, verse 10. The scripture says, and I
heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now has come salvation
and strength in the kingdom of our Lord and the power of his
Christ. For the accuser of our brethren
is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night,
and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb. How do we
overcome? By the blood of the Lamb. It's
His blood and His power. And by the word of their testimony,
and they loved not their lives unto death, they overcame Him
by the blood of the Lamb. We have no success except in
Christ. It's not our success, it's His
success. And they overcame Him with the
power of the blood of the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ. So our
success even today, our overcoming even today, our prevailing today,
even today, is in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our redemptive
price is his blood. Our redemption is found in him.
He truly is a redeemer that actually redeems his people and does not
just make them redeemable. He is a savior that actually
saves his people and just does not make them savable. He is the overcomer. He's overcome
the world. He's overcome every enemy. Every
enemy of the church and every enemy of God, and now the success
of that overcoming is demonstrating one more time here in the book
of Revelation says, all the saints, they overcame the enemy with
the power of the blood of the lamb. Not their own strength
and not their preaching can get the job done with the blood of
the lamb can. So it's overcome. Turn with me
just a little farther in chapter 15. Chapter 15. Chapter 15, verse 2, we read
these words. And I saw, as it were, a sea
of glass mingled with fire. And them that had gotten the
victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark,
and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having
the harps of God. Now the word in here is, that
gotten the victory. Now, overcoming has with it the
meaning of victory. Overcoming has with it the meaning
of conquering, having prevailed. It has success in it. The word
overcoming means it has success in it. I saw, as it were, a sea
of glass mingled with fire, and them that had gotten the victory
over the beast. They overcame him. They prevailed
over him. They conquered him, and we're
conquering him. And here it shares that. And
where are they? They're on a sea of glass having
the harps of God, and they sing the song of Moses, the servant
of God, and the song of the Lamb saying, great and marvelous are
thy works, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are thy ways, thou
King of saints. Now that's a song. Song of Moses,
standing on a sea of glass. I'm not sure what all that means,
but it's good. The words that they have to say
about how they overcame, they prevailed. They prevailed over
him. They had gotten the victory over
him. And now they sing the song of God's great success on their
part. What did they realize there another
day? They realized that their success
was based upon the harness that had been placed upon them and
the strings that God was pulling upward. that their success was
not based on their fingernails being wore down to the bone,
but their success was based upon the victory that's found in the
blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, the victory that is found in
God Almighty. As it says here, they sang a
song, and great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty. That's an interesting trio of
words, Lord God Almighty. But they realized where they're
overcoming, they're prevailing, their victory was. Now over in
the book of Revelation chapter 17, we find the same word again
mentioned, and it mentioned here, shall overcome. Revelation 17
and verse 14, these shall make war with the Lamb. Oh my. Another declaration of war, and
this war is against the Lamb. Now notice this. Is there going
to be trouble overcoming them? It says, for, and the lamb shall
overcome them. Boy, he'll prevail over them.
He's conquering and to conquer them. He's gotten the victory
over them. And as it says here in Revelation
17 and verse 14, And the Lamb shall overcome them, for He is
Lord of lords and King of kings, and they that are with Him are
called and chosen and faithful. Now, the words that we see here
with regard to the Lord God Almighty, how he is esteemed and exalted,
as it says here, he's king of kings. As we read just prior
to this, he's the Lord God Almighty. He's not going to lose. War may be declared against him
and is every day, but he shall not lose. He's not even going
to lose the battle. Those who thought that he lost
the battle on the cross didn't realize what the everlasting
covenant required, the death of the Son of God. Now here he's
an overcomer. He overcame them. And then finally
in Revelation chapter 21, Revelation chapter 21, we notice here in
Revelation chapter 21 verse 7, he that overcometh, shall inherit
all things. That's the same words we're going
to find to those seven churches of Asia. They're overcoming. He that overcometh
will I give to eat of the tree of life. He that overcometh will
I let eat the hidden manna and wear or have a white stone. or wear a robe of righteousness,
and it just gets better and better as we go through these seven
churches of Asia. The accumulation of these statements
with regard to those who overcome, to those who prevail, to those
who conquer, to those who are given the victory in the Lord
Jesus Christ, it is more than we can comprehend. what shall
be given to overcomers. And it says right here in Revelation
chapter 21 and verse 7, he that overcometh shall inherit all
things. And I will be his God and he
shall be my son. Now that's God saying that? About his people that he has
brought out of the brink? pulled through every persecution,
pulled through every temptation and peril and foe, pull them
through. Oh, it looked bad. But the cords
cannot be burned into, cannot be stretched out, cannot be broken. He has an attachment to his people
that he will prosper them to the end. They shall not fall
away. They may give up. but they'll
not be cast aside. He will cause them to prevail
and to overcome in every instance, every one of his children. Now,
turn with me, if you would, as we look at this word again. Same
word, it's found over here in the book of 1 John. We've read
this several times, but it's so vital that we read this again
with regard to these seven churches and every one that overcame And
these statements with regard to the Lord, he hath prevailed,
and he goes forth conquering and to conquer, and they overcame,
and gotten a victory through him, and he shall overcome, and
they that overcome shall be given all things. Here in 1 John chapter
5 is some key words with regard to overcoming. It is in the hand
of the Lord. It is directed by Almighty God. He will cause his people to overcome,
but it's based upon this. This overcoming is based on birth. The new birth. Overcoming is
based on this work of God. This mysterious. work of God,
this supernatural work of God. It is based upon the new birth. Now everyone that is born again
shall overcome. Everyone that is born again shall
prevail. Everyone that is born again will
have the victory. Everyone shall overcome. And
that's who he's speaking to in those seven churches when he
uses that word overcome. over cometh, they are those who
are born again. Now notice here in 1 John chapter
5 verse 4, for whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world. And this is the victory that
over cometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that over cometh
the world? But he that believeth that Jesus
is the Son of God. Now those who are born again
believe that he's the son of God, without reservation, and
these are the ones that he said shall overcome this world. These are the ones in those seven
churches of Asia that he promised these rich blessings, and every
one of them has some statement to make about our privilege and
the blessing that we have in Christ Jesus. When it says, we
shall get to eat of the tree of life, what does that mean? There's not going to be a tree.
Well, if there's going to be a tree, that's not what he's
talking about. He's talking about the tree of life. He's talking
about the life that we have in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is
such a beautiful figure, life coming from the tree, the Lord
Jesus Christ. And who, what else, get to eat
the hidden manna? He said he himself. I am that
bread that came down from heaven. They said, Moses gave us this
bread. He says, I'm this bread. That bread passed away. This bread endures forever. I
am that hidden manna. You get to eat of that hidden
manna. And give him a white stone. And we looked at that as we went
through there. And when you passed on someone,
if you gave them a white stone, it meant they were voted in.
If you gave them a black stone, it meant they were voted out.
And Paul uses that same word when it comes to those he voted
against. And many of them lost their lives
when he put in the black stone. He says, the Lord says, I voted
with a white stone. And that vote took place before
the world began. He that overcometh and keepeth
my words unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.
And it just goes on and on. So who is it? They're born of
God, overcome. This is a victory that we have
in Christ Jesus. And who is it that overcometh
the world? Those that know Jesus Christ as Savior. It is like
the Lord asked Peter, who do you say that I am? And he answered,
thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And the Lord
responded by saying, you didn't learn this. But this came from
above. This is by revelation. Now, this
new birth. Turn with me, if you would, back
to the book of John chapter one, verse 13. John chapter one, verse
13. Early on in the book of John,
there's a statement made with regard to this birth. Our physical birth. It is difficult
to explain. A physical birth, how it happens,
it's a mystery. But the spiritual birth, that's
indescribable and unexplainable. It's a mystery that's revealed
in the word of God. It's a supernatural. Man does not perform it on himself. Man does not perform the new
birth on himself. It is not something that we believe
and then get the new birth. We are granted the new birth
and then we believe. A person must be made alive first,
and then they're given the capacity to trust the Lord Jesus Christ
and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and have repentance towards
God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an act of grace
wrought in our heart. It is mysterious. It is supernatural. It is not common. It is not something
generated within our own being. It is not, I saw something the
other day that 73% of Christians in the United States believe
you must be born again and then you talk to them, how does that
happen? And oh, the way out there on the majority is you ask Jesus
into your heart and then you're born again. All of the things
that are required when it's the other way around. A baby doesn't
cry until it's born. Now, there's a truth about embryonic
sheep. God never takes a goat and makes
them into sheep. Never. But he has lost sheep. They're embryonic sheep. They're
pre-birth sheep. They haven't been born again
sheep. But they're out there, and when God brings the gospel
to them at the right time, he brings about in them the new
birth, and then they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Now,
notice here in the book of John, chapter 1, these are the overcomers. These are the born again ones,
they shall overcome. It is not activity of our heart
that makes us an overcomer, it's an activity of God in our heart. Now John chapter one, and there
in verse 13 it says, which were born not of blood, nor of the
will of the flesh, nor of the will of man. This comes about
before the will of man is quickened. It comes about, we can't make
this happen in our children. It's not granted. There's a philosophy,
I'll just say it's a philosophy, that if you're a Christian, then
it's gonna make sure that all of your children are Christians.
Now, the Lord never practiced that. His own brothers and sisters. They were unbelievers. So it's
not in the blood. We don't pass it on from generation
to generation. And we could just as soon most
assuredly say, too, that it's not by denomination. It's not passed on by denomination. Or it's not passed on by isms.
It's a birth and God grants it by the power of his seed, the
word of God. Goes on to say here, which were
born not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, not my flesh or
your flesh, nor the will of man. The person himself is so opposed
to this that God said the only way that it could ever take place
is if I do it. They will not respond to themselves
unless I work in them a work of grace. And this is called
the new birth. It's being regenerated. It's
being born again. Now, the Lord Jesus shared this
information, and he's talking about overcomers. Overcomers
are those who trust the Lord Jesus Christ. Overcomers are
those, the successful ones, those who will conquer, those who will
prevail, those who will be granted the victory. That is all in Christ
Jesus. And he puts a harness on us.
He lifts us over the obstacles. And here in John chapter 3, the
Lord is speaking to Nicodemus and he shares this. It's a mystery
about the new birth. And living here in the area that
we live in, we have some understanding what he's talking about when
he talks about wind. Now sometimes it's just high
breeze and sometimes they say we're going to have 50 mile an
hour gusts. Now, we don't know, I don't know
what it's like to be in one of those hurricanes, but I know
what it is to be in the wind. You know that you stand on the
off side when you're shoveling dirt You let the wind take, don't
throw it up in your face. There's just some things about
the wind. Now notice what it says here. You've noticed, I
know, we've read this many times. Notice with me here in John chapter
three and verse eight. Well, let's just back up to verse
five. Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except
a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter the
kingdom of God. Now that water is natural birth,
because he goes right on to say, that which is born of flesh is
flesh. We've got a couplet. Born of the water, born of flesh.
And then he says, that which is born of spirit is spirit.
And that is just born of the spirit. That which is born of
flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
There are two births. One is flesh. We've all had it. Parents brought us into this
world. And the Lord said, there's a
second birth. And if you ever going to see
the kingdom of heaven, this must be given to you. That which is
born of flesh for six is flesh and that which is born a spirit
of spirit marvel, not that I said unto thee, you must be born again.
Now it would have been. enjoyable if the translators
had to put, instead of again, put one other word above. Born from above. Several places
in the King James, this word again has been translated above. Now that would just, we just
have to be born from above. We have to be born from God.
We can't be born, the natural birth will not get us any closer
to God. The spiritual birth is from God
and plants his seed in us and leaves his son with us. So he
says, marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.
Now he never tells him how to be born again. You must be, but
I'm not telling you how, because he didn't give him that instruction.
We're born again from God. What's it go on to say? The wind
bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it cometh or whither it goeth. So
is every one that is born of the Spirit. It's a mystery. It's supernatural. The wind is
a type, a shadow, a picture of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy
Spirit comes and regenerates, gives life, raises the dead,
lifts us up. There's a type of it in the Old
Testament in Genesis chapter 2. when the Lord came upon Adam
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became
a living soul. Now that's the type, that physically
took place. Now God in his mystery of the
new birth does that spiritually. Comes upon physically alive,
spiritually dead people and breathes in them the breath of life. They
are created a new creature in Christ Jesus. Now that's the
overcomers. That whole group of people are
the overcomers. Not one of them will be left
out. All of them will enjoy all the blessings of overcoming.
Because when God saves us, he lets us know we're not left to
ourself. That we have him as Lord of Lord
and King of Kings. We have him that goes forth conquering
and to conquer. He opens the path before us. He cleans out the critters that
could harm us. Every sin and every demon is
taken aside by the swath of the Lord God Almighty, and we are
presented spotless before His throne. We overcome the enemy
by the blood of the Lamb. Everyone that is born again,
everyone that's in the bride, everyone that's called by God
into salvation are overcomers, and they are some in Laodicea. As an unkept church as that was,
as in gospel meant very little, he did say to those who overcome,
Not those who clean up themselves, but those who overcome, those
who are born from above, regenerated by the hand of Almighty God.
Not a decision, but a birth. This is from God. Now, turn with
me, if you would, to the book of Philippians chapter one. Philippians
chapter one, we find this concluding verse on this subject of overcoming.
And we're gonna look at all seven of these and compile a list of
all the blessings of overcoming, what God has in store for all
his people, what overcomers have before them, what they've set
before them, what's on their plate, what they'll get to enjoy.
But notice with me here in Philippians chapter one, and it just goes
right along with those who overcome, those who prevail, those who
conquer, those that are granted the victory, here in the book
of Philippians chapter one, We find these wonderful words that
the Holy Spirit gives to us with regard to our success. Philippians
chapter 1 verse 6, the scripture says, being confident of this
very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will
perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Now, that's the promise
God has given to his people. If I begin a good work, I'll
complete it, and everyone that I've begun a good work in will
overcome. They will be victorious. I have
a sure remedy. I have a sure way of presenting
you spotless, and that is the Salvation Band of God. all the
great grip he has on every one of his people. And he lifts us
and we overcome all the obstacles that are set before us, whatever
they may be. He has promised that He that has begun a good work
in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Even
as it is meet for me to think of this of you all, because I
have you in my heart, and as much as both in my bonds and
in my defense and confrontation of the gospel, ye all are partakers
of my grace. So this wonderful position that
God places every one of his children in, I have born you into this. I will carry you through this.
I will present you spotless. I will take that which was enmity
against me and cause every one of them to love me. with a love
that is insurpassable, unsurmountable, cannot be overcome, and everyone,
I will draw with cords of love, and they will have all of these
rich blessings that he has promised these in these seven churches.
Thyatira, he that overcometh and keepeth my words, and to
the end, to him will I give power over the nations and shall rule
them with a rod of iron. Now, I don't tell you, I don't
know all that means, but that's good. It's a blessing that God
has given. He that overcometh, the same
shall be clothed with white raiment, the righteousness of Christ.
And I'll not blot out his name out of the book of life, but
I will confess his name before my father. He that overcometh
will I make a pillar in the temple of my God. And he shall go no
more out. And I'll write upon him the name
of my God and the name of the city of my God, which is New
Jerusalem. He that overcometh, he that overcometh,
he that overcometh. Who shall overcome? Who are the
overcomers? Those that know God as Savior. Those that he has raised from
the spiritual dead. And they will have a victory
in God. Now we see it through a glass
darkly. We see glimpses of it, promises
of it, but then to sing the song of Moses, our Lord of Lords,
Lord God Almighty, you brought us here, the success is yours,
we bow, we worship you. You're worthy as the lamb that
was slain. So the Lord willing, we'll look
at these seven different overcoming statements. that the Lord promised
to these seven churches and their pastors and the people in them
that truly were born again and God had a reign on and God was
going to present spotless.
