What does the Bible say about seeing the Lord?

Answered in 14 sources

The Bible shows that those who encounter the Lord are often humbled and brought to repentance as seen in the experiences of Moses, Job, and Isaiah.

Throughout Scripture, encounters with God lead individuals to profound humility and repentance. For instance, when Moses came into God's presence, he was instructed to remove his shoes because he was on holy ground. Similarly, Job, after hearing from the Lord, exclaimed that he realized his own shortcomings and repented. Isaiah, after seeing the Lord exalted, cried out in despair over his own sinfulness. These experiences underline that seeing the Lord brings a recognition of His holiness and our unworthiness, which leads to genuine repentance and a changed life.
