What does the Bible say about spiritual awakening?

In the Bible, spiritual awakening is depicted as a work of God. For instance, in the Gospel of John, it is stated that 'a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from above' (John 3:27). This emphasizes the necessity of divine intervention for understanding spiritual matters.
