What does the Bible say about suffering and God's presence?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible acknowledges suffering but reassures that God is always present, even in our darkest times.

The Scriptures depict suffering as an inevitable part of the human experience, yet they simultaneously affirm God's constant presence with His people. In Job 13:15, Job declares his unwavering trust in God despite extreme suffering, illustrating that true faith can exist even amid anguish. Similarly, in Lamentations 3:22-23, Jeremiah emphasizes God’s unending mercies, reminding us that even in distress, God's faithfulness remains. The Bible does not diminish the reality of suffering but offers hope through the assurance that God is with His children in their pain, working all things for good as seen in Romans 8:28.
