What does the Bible say about the law and our sinful nature?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the law is holy and good, but our sinful flesh is unable to keep it.

The Apostle Paul explains in Romans that while the law is perfect and just, humanity in its sinful state is inherently at odds with it. Our flesh is weak and cannot fulfill the law's requirements, leading to our condemnation. However, God, in His rich mercy, has provided a way through Christ, who fulfilled the law by condemning sin in the flesh. This means that believers are no longer bound by the law of sin and death but now walk according to the Spirit, having received a new nature that desires to obey God's commands.
