What does the Bible say about the law and salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the law demands perfection, revealing our inability to save ourselves and pointing to Christ as our only hope.

The law says do, and when you've done, do more; it offers no rest and cannot save anyone, as it only reveals sin (Galatians 4:21-26). The law operates by sight, insisting on works for justification, whereas salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone, who fulfilled the law on our behalf. We cannot attain righteousness through the law because, according to Scripture, no flesh shall be justified by the deeds of the law (Romans 3:20). Instead, Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes (Romans 10:4), emphasizing that all glory belongs to God for our salvation.
