What does the Bible say about the Lord defending us?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible assures us that the Lord defends those who trust in Him for salvation.

In Zechariah 3, we find a vivid illustration of the Lord's defense of His people through the figure of Joshua, the high priest. Just as Joshua stood before God, accused by Satan, believers today can take comfort that God defends us through Christ, our great High Priest. As the Lord rebukes the accuser, He reaffirms that those who trust in Jesus are protected and justified in His sight. Our confidence is not in our righteousness, but in Christ's complete work on our behalf, showing that the Lord genuinely defends His chosen people.
