What does the Bible say about the natural man?

Answered in 13 sources

The Bible states that the natural man cannot understand the things of the Spirit of God and is considered foolishness to him (1 Corinthians 2:14).

According to 1 Corinthians 2:14-15, the natural man, who has not received the Spirit of God, does not accept the things that come from the Spirit because they are spiritually discerned. This classification of humanity shows that all people fall into one of two categories: the natural man and the spiritual man. The natural man is characterized by his complete inability to comprehend spiritual truths and is fundamentally at enmity with God (Romans 8:7). His concerns are exclusively for the things of the flesh, leading to spiritual death (Romans 8:6-7).
