What does the Bible say about wealth and riches?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that true wealth comes from our relationship with God and His blessings, not mere material possessions.

In Psalm 112, we see a different perspective on wealth and riches than the world typically offers. The psalm highlights that wealth is relative and deeply connected to one's relationship with God. As Chris Cunningham noted, 'If you have God... it doesn't matter what else you have.' Wealth and riches are ultimately found in knowing God, who is described in Genesis 15:1 as 'thy shield and thy exceeding great reward.' Therefore, the riches that truly matter are those that stem from spiritual blessings in Christ, emphasizing that material goods hold little value in comparison to our eternal inheritance with Him.
