What does the Bible say about what God delights in?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God delights in His decrees, His Son, and in what He does in the hearts of His people.

According to Isaiah 66:4 and other passages, God delights in His decrees, which encompass everything He has ordained throughout history. This includes His sovereign choice of people and His providential care over them. Additionally, God delights in His Son, Jesus Christ, who fulfilled every aspect of God's law and purpose. At His baptism and the Transfiguration, God declared His pleasure in Christ, emphasizing the significance of His obedient life and redemptive work. Ultimately, God also delights in the faith and understanding that He graciously imparts to His people, enabling them to discern truth from error and to love what He loves.
