What is the relationship between faith and grace?

Answered in 2 sources

Faith is the means through which believers receive and experience God’s grace in their lives.

Faith and grace are intricately connected in the believer's experience of salvation and daily living. Grace is unmerited favor from God, given freely to sinners, while faith is the channel through which grace is accessed. As seen in Romans 1:17, the righteousness of God is revealed through faith, indicating that by trusting in Christ, believers receive His righteousness—which is the essence of grace. Thus, faith does not contribute to merit but rather receives what has been graciously bestowed by God through Jesus. The distinction is critical: while faith is essential to salvation, it is not the source of righteousness; that belongs solely to Christ, and believers rely on their faith for the experience of that grace.
