What is the relationship between faith and the law?

Answered in 2 sources

Faith is essential for salvation, while the law reveals our inability to achieve righteousness on our own.

Faith and the law are intricately connected in the life of a believer. The law highlights our sinfulness and inability to meet its demands, which leads us to place our faith in Christ for salvation. Romans 3:31 asks if faith makes the law void; it does not, but rather, faith establishes the law by fulfilling its requirements through Christ. As believers, we are called to live by faith, as stated in Galatians 2:20, where Paul expresses that he lives by the faith of the Son of God who loved him and gave Himself for him. The law's role is not to condemn Christians but to drive them toward reliance on Christ's righteousness.
