What is the relationship between love and fear in Christianity?

Answered in 1 source

In Christianity, love drives out fear, as perfect love assures us of God's acceptance.

1 John 4:18 clearly states that there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. This means that when we understand and experience God's perfect love through Christ, it dispels the fears of condemnation and judgment. Since God is love, believers can rest assured that their standing in Him is secure. This transformative understanding encourages us to approach God without the anxiety that comes from fear of judgment, thereby allowing us to love freely and genuinely reflect Christ's love in our actions.
