What is the significance of the New Covenant in Christ's blood?

Answered in 2 sources

The New Covenant in Christ's blood signifies the fulfillment of God's promises and the establishment of redemption through faith in Jesus.

In Luke 22:20, Jesus speaks of the cup as 'the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you.' This New Covenant is significant because it represents the fulfillment of God’s promise to His people for a means of reconciliation. Unlike the Old Covenant, which relied on continuous animal sacrifices, this New Covenant establishes once and for all that Jesus, through His death, has paid the penalty for our sins. His shed blood marks the inauguration of a personal relationship between God and believers, where our sins are forgiven, and we are brought into a new life with Him.
