What should I do when I feel distant from God?

Answered in 1 source

In times of distance from God, seek Him through prayer, scripture, and the company of fellow believers.

Feelings of distance from God are common in the Christian experience, often referred to as spiritual valleys. The biblical counsel is to actively seek Christ through prayer, immersion in scripture, and fellowship with other believers. As expressed in Song of Solomon 2:17, 'Turn, my beloved,' believers are encouraged to call upon God by seeking His presence earnestly. Remembering the truth of His unfailing love and unchanging nature, despite our feelings, allows us to restore our focus on Him. Actively immersing ourselves in the means of grace helps rekindle that sense of communion and assurance in our relationship with Christ.
