Why is acknowledging our frailty important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Acknowledging our frailty leads us to depend more deeply on God's grace and mercy.

Recognizing our frailty, as David does in Psalm 39:4-5, serves to humble us before God, reminding us that we are contingent beings wholly reliant on Him. This acknowledgment cultivates a deeper reliance on God's strength, particularly in our afflictions. When we understand our limitations, we are more inclined to turn to God for support and guidance, surely reflecting Paul’s teaching in 2 Corinthians 12:9, where he states that God's grace is sufficient, for His power is made perfect in weakness. The gospel assures us that in our weakness, Christ's strength abounds, transforming our trials into opportunities for growth in faith and character (Romans 5:3-5).
