Why is believing in Christ's sacrifice important for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice is the only sufficient offering for our sins.

Believing in Christ's sacrifice is crucial because it is the only means by which our sins can be atoned for. In 1 Peter 1:18-19, we learn that we are redeemed 'not with corruptible things, as silver and gold,' but 'with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot.' This highlights that only a perfect sacrifice can satisfy God's justice and provide salvation. Our righteousness is insufficient; we need the righteousness of Christ imputed to us, which He accomplishes through His death and resurrection. Without acknowledging and believing in this sacrifice, we cannot truly receive forgiveness and reconciliation with God.
