Why is Christ's innocence important for salvation?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ's innocence is crucial because only He could bear the sins of His people without any charge against Him.

Christ's innocence is paramount in the context of redemption, as seen in Matthew 27:4, where Judas calls Him 'THE innocent blood.' Since only an innocent sacrifice can atone for sins, Christ's qualifications as the sinless Lamb of God are essential. His innocence allows Him to stand in place of the guilty, ensuring that God's demand for justice is satisfied while simultaneously justifying those He came to save. Thus, only through Christ can true reconciliation with God be achieved.
