Why is faith in Christ essential for hope?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Christ is essential because He is our only true refuge from sin and its consequences.

Faith in Christ is the cornerstone of our hope because it is through Him that we find true refuge from the impending judgment and the realities of life's afflictions. Psalm 2 reminds us that honoring the Son is vital to avoid His anger. Our hope, therefore, is not in our abilities or religious practices, but in the person of Jesus Christ. By trusting in Him, believers are assured of salvation from God's wrath and the strength needed to endure life’s challenges. In this way, Jesus becomes the embodiment of hope for both our eternal destiny and our temporal adversities.
