Why is humility important in the Christian faith?

Humility is foundational to the Christian experience, as it positions believers to receive God's grace and guidance. The acknowledgment of one's wretchedness and need for a Savior is crucial; as noted in the sermon, without this recognition, pride seeps in, leading one to believe they can achieve righteousness on their own. The Bible illustrates that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
