Why is it important for Christians to know who Jesus is?

The question of Jesus’ identity, 'Whom say ye that I am?' is fundamental. It is critical for Christians to affirm that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, as failure to do so equates to denying the faith altogether (1 John 2:22). This recognition informs our understanding of salvation, as Jesus Himself stated in John 17:3 that eternal life is knowing God and Jesus Christ.
