Why is it important for Christians to understand their sin?

For Christians, acknowledging our sin is foundational to recognizing the profound nature of God's grace and mercy. The Bible depicts humanity as fallen and dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). This acknowledgment allows believers to appreciate the magnitude of Christ’s sacrifice. In Hosea 5, the Israelite's sin against God is highlighted, revealing their failure to seek Him amidst idolatry and rebellion.
