Why is Jesus' kingship important for Christians?

Answered in 5 sources

Jesus' kingship is essential for Christians because it assures us of His sovereignty and control over all aspects of life.

Understanding Jesus as our King is fundamental to the Christian faith, as His kingship provides assurance of God's sovereignty and purpose in our lives. As seen in Colossians 1:16-17, all things were created by Him and for Him; thus, He reigns over them. This entails not only authority but also a relationship with us as His subjects, which offers comfort and confidence in troubling times. We are reminded that He works all things for our eternal good and His glory. His reign supports our faith to submit to His will, knowing He is a just and loving King who promises to never leave us nor forsake us.
