Why is living in peace important for Christians?

For Christians, living in peace is not merely a recommendation but a command rooted in the character of God and the teachings of Christ. It reflects the essence of the Gospel, which is reconciliation and peace between God and humanity through Jesus Christ. As believers are justified by faith, they gain peace with God (Romans 5:1) and are called to extend that peace to others. Furthermore, the Apostle Paul emphasizes that our interpersonal relationships and our pursuit of peace are vital for a credible Christian witness. When Christians embody peace and unity, they illustrate the transformative power of the Gospel and fulfill the command to love one another (John 13:34).
