Why is looking to Jesus important for Christians?

Answered in 10 sources

Looking to Jesus is vital as He is the author and finisher of our faith, providing strength and guidance in our spiritual journey.

Looking unto Jesus is paramount for Christians as He is both the source and goal of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 instructs us to 'looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.' This focus on Christ helps believers maintain their faith in the midst of trials and tribulations. By fixing our eyes on Him, we receive the strength and encouragement needed to persevere through difficulties, as He sympathizes with our weaknesses. Additionally, a true view of Jesus transforms our hearts and deepens our gratitude and love for Him, which in turn facilitates our obedience and spiritual growth. This gaze upon Christ ensures that we remain anchored in hope and are continually empowered by His grace.
