Why is submission to God important for Christians?

Answered in 3 sources

Submission to God is crucial for Christians as it aligns us with His will and enables us to receive His grace.

Submission to God is foundational for the Christian life because it embodies our recognition of His authority and wisdom. James 4:7 instructs us to 'Submit yourselves therefore to God,' indicating that this attitude is essential for establishing a right relationship with Him. In our submission, we acknowledge that our understanding is limited and that we are utterly reliant on His guidance. As we resist the devil in this state of submission, we find that he will flee from us, underscoring that our strength comes from aligning our will with God's. This submission leads not only to grace but also to the assurance of His presence in our lives.
