Why is the sacrifice of Christ considered better than Old Testament sacrifices?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's sacrifice is considered better because it perfects and completely removes sin, unlike the recurring animal sacrifices in the Old Testament.

The sacrifices under the Old Covenant were temporary, as Hebrews 10:3-4 explains: 'But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.' In contrast, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ was made once for all, by Himself 'purging our sins' (Hebrews 1:3). This singular act was sufficient to atone for the sins of humanity completely, marking the end of the need for any further sacrifices. Moreover, Christ's sacrifice satisfies divine justice and fulfills the requirements of the law, thus providing a 'better hope' as stated in Hebrews 7:19.
