Why is understanding the purpose of Jesus' miracles important?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding the purpose of Jesus' miracles helps us recognize Him as the Savior and the deeper spiritual realities they represent.

Jesus' miracles were not merely displays of power but purposeful signs meant to reveal His identity and mission. Each miracle served to illustrate spiritual truths about the nature of God and mankind's greatest needs. For example, when Jesus feeds the five thousand, He not only meets their physical hunger but points them to the deeper spiritual hunger that only He can satisfy. These signs are intended to lead us to faith in Him as the Savior who offers eternal life. Therefore, recognizing the purpose behind the miracles allows us to grasp the full meaning of His ministry and motivates us to seek Him for not just physical needs but, more importantly, spiritual salvation.
