Why is understanding the suffering of Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding the suffering of Christ is vital as it reveals God's justice being satisfied and the cost of our salvation.

The suffering of Christ is foundational to the Christian faith, addressing God's requirement for justice in the atonement of sin. In order for sinners to be reconciled to God, divine justice must be satisfied. This is why Paul emphasized Christ's suffering and resurrection when he preached, as it was necessary for salvation to be accomplished. In Isaiah 53:5, we see that Christ was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities, showcasing the depth of His sacrifice. Recognizing the necessity of His suffering helps Christians appreciate the significance of the cross and understand the love and grace of God in providing a perfect Savior for His people.
