Why should Christians strive for peace?

Striving for peace is an essential aspect of the Christian life. In Ephesians 4:3, Paul beseeches the church to make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. This effort is not only a reflection of God's character, who is the ultimate source of peace, but also a demonstration of our identity as His children. Jesus proclaimed blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God (Matthew 5:9). This signifies that our work for peace is not only a duty, but a privilege that identifies us with God's family.
