For the next 15 minutes, I am
going to sum up all the purpose of God, the mind of God, the
will of God, the purpose of God's creation. I'm going to sum up
the Word of God, the wisdom, the knowledge, the salvation
of God, all the promises of God. what heaven is about and eternity
is all about. In three words in Colossians
chapter 3 verse 11 the Apostle says Christ is all. Christ is all. These three words are the sum
and substance of the Bible, of the book. These three words sum
up the reason, the purpose of creation, this world, universe
and all eternity. Now since Christ is all, everyone
else and everything else is nothing at all but vanity. Since Christ
is all, all the wisdom of God, all the knowledge of God, if
you do not know Him, you know nothing at all. Whatever you
are and know is foolishness if you know not Christ. since Christ
is all the treasures, the blessings, the riches of God. If you have
not Him, if you have not the Son, you have nothing at all. You are poor and needy. Christ
is all the purpose of God, the will, the mind of God. In Ephesians
chapter 1, It says in verse 4 that He chose His people in Christ
before the foundation of the world, that they should be holy
and without blame before God in love, having predestinated
them to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself according
to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of
His Grace, wherein, that is His grace, He hath made us, His people,
accepted in the Beloved. That's Christ. And it says in
verse 9, He made known unto His people the mystery of His will,
the good pleasure of His will, which He purposed in Himself.
And here it is. Ephesians 1.10, that in the dispensation
of the fullness of time, he will gather together in one all things
in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth,
even in him. Christ is all the purpose, the
will, the mind of God for all things. Jesus Christ is all in
creation. Listen to Colossians chapter
1, verse 16. It says, By Him, that is Christ,
who is the firstborn, the image of God, by Him were all things
created that are in heaven, that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or Principalities or powers,
all things were created by Him and for Him. Listen to John chapter
1. In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same, that
is, person, was in the beginning with God, and all things were
made by Him. Speaking of Jesus Christ, He's
called the Word. And without Him was not anything
made that was made. Jesus Christ is all in the creation
of all things. He created all things, and by
Him, and for Him, and for His glory, all things were created.
Everything in this universe is, as it were, a monument to the
Son of God. One time, our Lord took three
apostles up on the mountain to reveal Himself to them, to be
transfigured, to peel back, as it were, His robe of flesh to
see Him as He is. And upon seeing Him in all His
glory, Peter said, let's build three tabernacles. They saw Moses
and Elijah there also. And they said, let's build three
tabernacles. Well, God answered from heaven
and said, this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye Him. No monument should
be built to anyone but Christ. Christ is all. Christ is all
in creation, in all things. Jesus Christ is all the fullness
of God. In Colossians 1, it says in verse
19, it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell. Fullness. That means all fulfillment
is found in Him. You have a glass of water, and
if there's half a glass, you say it's half full or half empty. It's not full. It's not completely
full. But fill it all the way up until
you could not put anything else in it, then that glass is full. Well, the scripture says that
Christ is all the fullness of God, all the fullness of God,
the fullness of joy, the fullness of peace, the fullness of light,
of life, of holiness, the fullness, all the fullness in Him. Listen
to Ecclesiastes chapter 1 in verse 7 and 8. It says all the
rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. Unto the
place from which the rivers come, thither they return again. All
things are full of labor. Man cannot utter it. The eye
is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. And yet our Lord says that Jesus
Christ is all the fullness of God, the fullness of the Godhead. In Him dwelleth all the fullness
of the Godhead bodily. God the Father, God the Son,
God the Holy Spirit, these three are one and can be seen in their
fullness in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. What is God
like? He is like Jesus Christ because
Jesus Christ is God. He's God in all of His sovereignty,
in all of His power, All the elements, all the animals, devils
and men, all things are subject to the Lord Jesus Christ. Listen
to Colossians 2. It says that by Him all things
consist. He's the head over all things. All things. He must have the
preeminent because He's the head of all. The sovereignty of God,
all the sovereignty, all the power, he said, all things are
delivered unto me of my Father. All power over all flesh. The
character of God, the fullness of God's character are seen,
are found in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is holy. He is just. He is
righteous. He is love. He is mercy. He is compassion. He is kindness. He is patience. He is long-suffering. He is gentleness. He is grace.
Jesus Christ is all and in all. One time Moses was being spoken
to by the Lord on the mount, and the Lord said, I'm going
to make all my goodness pass before you. Well, all the goodness
of God, the gospel of God is the good news from God. All of
that is found in the Lord Jesus Christ. He's all the fullness
of God. Jesus Christ is all the Word
of God. It all speaks of Him. He is the
revealed mind, the thoughts of God. All of the prophecies, all
the Old Testament prophecies speak of the Lord Jesus Christ.
To Him give all the prophets witness. All the types, or that
is those things that typify, represent the Lord Jesus Christ. All of them in the Old Testament
speak of Him. All the symbols, all the shadows,
all the ceremonies, all the stories, even all the people. somehow
represent and point to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is all. One
time he was walking on the road to Emmaus and two disciples were
walking along and he disguised himself. They didn't know him
and he walked along with them and he began to preach from the
books of Moses and the Psalms and the prophets and said he
expounded all things concerning himself. That's the whole Bible. The whole Bible speaks of the
Lord Jesus Christ. All the Old Testament said, someone
is coming. And then the Gospels, the four
Gospels said, He is here. And then the Epistles and the
Revelation say, He's coming again. Christ is all the Word of God. Christ is all the wisdom of God
and the knowledge of God. Listen to Colossians 2 verse
3. In Christ are hid all the treasures
of wisdom and knowledge. hid, mind you, God hides these
things from the wise and the prudent, the self-confessed or
professed wise people of this world. Romans 1 says, professing
themselves to be wise, they became fool. That is, if men and women
do not know Christ, they know nothing at all. For in Him is
hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom and knowledge. Listen to Proverbs chapter 8.
The whole chapter speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is wisdom. Did you know that? Have you ever
read Proverbs 8? If you'll read it, it speaks
of wisdom crying, wisdom speaking to the sons of men. And that
is Jesus Christ. It says He is wisdom. In verse 8 and 9, Proverbs 8
says, All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There's
nothing forward or perverse in them. They're all plain to him
that understand it and right to them that find knowledge.
If the Lord gives you an understanding that you might know him that
is true and you're in him that is true, even in the Lord Jesus
Christ, you'll know wisdom. You'll have knowledge, you'll
have understanding, a basic understanding of all things, for Christ is
all. The wisdom and knowledge of God.
In Proverbs 8, verse 14, Christ says, counsel is mine, sound
wisdom. If you need counsel, go to Christ. If you need wisdom, go to Him.
He says, I am understanding. Proverbs chapter 8 verse 17 says,
I love them that love me, and those that seek me early shall
find me. Riches and honor are with me,
durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold,
than fine gold. My revenue than choice silver. He says, I lead in the way of
righteousness, in the midst of the path of judgment. Yes, Christ
is all. And verse 35 says, Whoso findeth
me, findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord. Yes, Christ
is all the wisdom and knowledge of God. Christ is all the salvation
of God. God is. God is holy. God is angry with the wicked
every day. God is just. God is going to
destroy this world and everyone in it. But God is love. God is mercy. God is a Savior
in Christ. Christ, the love of God, is in
Christ like the Ark of Noah. Remember that story? It's a true
story. Only those that were in the ark
were saved from the wrath and the judgment of God. And so it
is with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Only those that
are found in Him have life. Only those that are in Christ
are loved by God. He is all the love of God. He is all the promises of God.
In Him, all the promises of God are yea and amen. He is all the
blessings of God, all spiritual blessings, peace, joy, pardon,
life, new heaven and new earth, the blessing. In Him dwelleth
all the fullness, all the preeminence of God is in Him. All preeminence,
all worship, all praise of angels, men, and devils go to Him and
Him alone. He is all in His people. All
the people of God worship Him as God. All their faith, all
their hope, all their love, all their wisdom, all their righteousness,
all their sanctification, their redemption. He is all. He is
all in eternity. Everyone in heaven throughout
eternity is going to be speaking Christ is all. Is He all to you? I pray that He is. Until next
Sunday, good day.
