Stop, look around, tell me what you see. Things are bad.
Now, ask for the 'old paths' . . . 'the good way' . . . and walk therein and you shall find rest for your soul.
What does the Bible say about the old paths?

The Bible encourages seeking the old paths where is the good way, leading to rest for the soul (Jeremiah 6:16).

Jeremiah 6:16 calls believers to stand in the ways, seek the old paths, and ask for the good way. The old paths signify the foundational truths and practices rooted in God's Word, contrasting with the shifting, false messages prevalent in society today. God invites His people to look beyond the contemporary allure and return to the history of His faithfulness and truth, which leads to spiritual rest and peace.

Jeremiah 6:16

How do we know that God's sovereignty is real?

God's sovereignty is established through Scripture, demonstrating His control over all creation (Ephesians 1:11).

The sovereignty of God is affirmed throughout the entirety of Scripture, showcasing His absolute authority and rule over all events and beings. Ephesians 1:11 explains that God works all things according to the counsel of His will, indicating that nothing occurs without His permission or design. This belief is foundational to the Reformed faith, comforting us that God is in control and is fulfilling His divine purpose, including our salvation.

Ephesians 1:11

Why are the doctrines of grace important for Christians?

The doctrines of grace affirm God's sovereign work in salvation and provide believers with assurance of His unchanging love (Romans 8:30).

The doctrines of grace encapsulate the biblical principles surrounding salvation, highlighting themes such as total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and perseverance of the saints. These doctrines are vital for Christians because they emphasize that salvation is entirely based on God's mercy and sovereign will, not human effort. This foundation offers believers assurance in their relationship with God, reminding them that His love and grace are eternal and unshakeable, as exemplified in Romans 8:30, where it says that those whom He predestined, He also called and justified.

Romans 8:30

What does it mean to walk in the old truths?

Walking in the old truths means adhering to the foundational teachings of Scripture which guide believers' lives (Psalm 25:4-5).

To walk in the old truths involves a commitment to live according to the teachings and principles found in Scripture, rooted in the historic Christian faith. Psalm 25:4-5 reflects a prayer for guidance in God's ways and paths, showcasing the necessity of seeking God's truth for direction in life. For Reformed believers, this means embracing the full counsel of God's Word, regarding it as ultimate authority and seeking to apply its truths in daily living, acknowledging that these old truths lead to deeper fellowship with God and provide direction amid a confused world.

Psalm 25:4-5

Why is the blood of Christ essential for salvation?

The blood of Christ is essential for salvation as it fully atones for sin and establishes peace between God and His people (Hebrews 9:22).

The blood of Christ is central to the Christian faith, as it represents the sacrifice through which Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thereby satisfying God's justice. Hebrews 9:22 declares that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. This means that the only way for sinners to be reconciled to a holy God is through faith in the atoning work of Christ. His blood not only cleanses from sin but also establishes a covenant of peace for all who believe, reinforcing the assurance that true salvation comes through reliance on Christ’s finished work.

Thank you, John. Thank you, Sherry. Go back now to Jeremiah 6 with
me. Jeremiah 6. Read verse 16 again with me. Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye
in the ways, and seek, and ask for the old paths, where is the
good way? And walk therein, and ye shall
find rest. for your soul. What they said,
we will not walk therein. The book of Jeremiah needs to
be read over and over and over again. Now more than ever in
these last days. Because God's Word is not heard,
because as He said, they turn away their ears They will not
hear. These books are hardly read at
all. But that should not be for us. Jeremiah was God's messenger,
preacher to a wicked king and a wicked society, which was wicked
because of wicked religion. Jeremiah spoke more of false
prophets and false religion than anybody in his day. They all
did. But Jeremiah especially, those
of you who have read it, know that. And it's so relevant. It's so current. It so speaks of today. One of
the old preachers, old writer, years and years ago said, the
book of Jeremiah speaks preeminently of the last day, meaning that
it speaks more clearly to and of the last of the last days
than any other book in Scripture. Jeremiah lived to see the complete
ruin of Israel, complete until it was just a degraded nation
because of wicked religion, false religion, false prophets everywhere,
fools, and the land is full of them, from the prophet to the
priest, all of it. Jeremiah was a man who stood
alone. There were a couple others with him. But he was about it.
And he lived to see the utter ruin and corruption of Israel
and Jerusalem burned, the temple destroyed, the people of God
taken into captivity and bombed, and he himself was dragged to
Egypt and they killed him. And it speaks of our day as clearly
as any or more clearly than any other. Jeremiah was always denouncing
the evils of his day. And there's no way it could be
worse than now, is it? Our Lord said in Hosea, and Hosea
was in captivity. He said that people have deeply
corrupted themselves. Deeply. And so the Lord says
in verse 10, who will hear this warning? Verse 10. Whom shall
I speak and give warning? that they may hear. If you stand
up today, if you go out today and talk about a God who will
punish sin, a God who will by no means clear the gift, a God
who is holy, tell the truth. God hasn't changed. Man hasn't
changed. Man's only hope hasn't changed.
And religion is more corrupt than that. And you go out there
and you tell people that, and they'll laugh you to scorn one
time. They'll mock you. What is this ridiculous old-fashioned? Yes, it's old. Yes, it's old. It's a message as old as God.
It goes all the way back to the flood. Hasn't changed. So who will hear this warning?
I want to hear it. We read there in chapter
5, it says, They have ears, but they don't hear. Isaiah said
that. They have eyes, but they don't
see. David said that. I want to hear it, don't you?
I want to see. I want to stand and see clearly. I want to see things clearly
as they are, not the way men say they are. I want my eyes
open clearly. The truth. In verse 13, he said,
from the least to the greatest covetousness, that's the day. We've never been a more materialistic,
affluent society in the history of the world, Never been a more
affluent society ever. Ever. That's why there's no need
for God. Don't need God. Don't think God
gave them what they have. They earned it because we're
superior or something. Don't thank God. Weren't thankful,
so God gave them over. They're a reprobate man. And
they corrupt, deeply corrupt themselves. He goes on to say the prophet
and the priest, every one of them, dealeth falsely. Where
is there a man that stands up and doesn't have hidden reasons, money behind what he
says, or fame? something corrupts in what he
does, but rather a man who stands up for the glory of God, for
the real good of the people, the salvation of souls, not to
count heads and so on and so forth, not to build a work, not
to build his own name and his own honor and reputation. Where
is there such a thing? Well, there are some, but they're
in the minority. But for the most part, the land
is full of, the scripture says. Our Lord said, many false prophets
have gone into the world. John said, even now, back then,
2000 years ago, are there many anti-Christ? Anti-Christ? I thought it was one person.
No, it's anybody that's not giving Christ all the glory. It's anybody
that's not preaching Christ and Christ alone, not preaching Him.
They're against Him. They're not for Him. If they're
not pointing men to Him, they're against Him. It doesn't matter
what it looks like, sounds like. Where are they? Verse 14, he
says, they cry, peace, peace, when there is no peace. Peace,
peace. Jeremiah is the one who said
in chapter 23, well, the Lord told him to say this. He said,
they say unto them that hate me. God has a wonderful plan for
your life. Peace. God loves you. He has a wonderful
plan. That was thousands of years ago. That's all you hear today, isn't
it? Peace, peace. God said there is no peace. It's a false peace. I've got
a false refuge of lives, He said. Preachers, false preachers have
given them a refuge. in their works, in their profession,
in their religion, and they have peace. But it's not going to
last, God said. When they come to the judgment,
they're going to stand before me and plead everything they've
done, and they're going to be shocked when I tell them, you're
a worker of iniquity. Ah, but we did it in your name.
No, you didn't. You did it in your own name. You said my name,
but you did it for your glory and your honor. You weren't doing
it for my glory and honor at all. You weren't pointing men
to me at all. You were pointing men to you. You wanted men to
come in and join your church, not be joined to the church.
This is what Jeremiah said over and over and over again. Nothing
applies more to this day than that. Peace, peace. I read an article by that ridiculous
woman named Joyce Meyer, and I hate to bring her name up,
but she's in our paper every week, and she's in every paper
in the nation. A woman. It doesn't really matter, you
know, if it's a false prophet whether it's male or female.
It doesn't matter. But that's indicative of the direction that
religion has taken. It's run by women. It's called the great whore,
isn't it? At any rate, that woman had this, and I couldn't help
but read it because her title was Peace. So I read it. I don't usually read it. But
it said peace, so I read it. There was not one mention of
Jesus Christ in that article. There is one way of peace. I
say this very calmly and matter-of-factly. God is angry with the wicked
every day. He will by no means clear the guilt. God is holy.
God is just. God will punish sin. He has,
He will. God is angry. Man is an enemy
against God. That's what the Scripture said.
There's only one way to have peace with God. And you and I
don't make it. We don't accept it. We don't
do it. We don't do something to get
peace with God. There was one way that peace
was established for God's people. Not all men. God's people. Jesus
Christ was made peace for us. Jesus Christ made peace by the
blood of His cross. Jesus Christ came and made sin
for His people. Not everybody, but for His people. He made peace for His people.
In Luke chapter 2, when the Lord announced His Son's coming through
the angels, He said, On earth, peace. Goodwill toward man? No, sir. Toward men. Not mankind. Men. A certain one. For he shall save
his people from their sin. And they all know it. They all
know it. And his preachers preach this,
that there's one way of peace, and it's Jesus Christ. And all
his people know it. But for the blood of Jesus Christ,
I'd be a stranger and an enemy cast out. The blood of Jesus
Christ. There is no peace. There is no
peace for the wicked, be they openly wicked or secretly in
religion. Look at verse 15. It says, Were
they ashamed when they committed abomination? No, they were not
at all ashamed. They couldn't even blush. And
didn't Isaiah say they declared their sin as Sodom? To come out
in the open. This is not just talking about
Well, Romans 1 talks about the reprobate society and all of
its evil and wickedness, full of all those things it says. Chapter 2 is religion. It's justice
corrupt, Paul says. Justice corrupt. And they declare
their sin, their abominations. They're not blushed. They're
proud of it. Proud of it. Gay pride. Well, there's something
worse than that. It's this free will pride. It's
worse than that. Free will pride. Religion and
all its pride is vain glory. They only consult to cast him
down from his excellence and cast themselves up. Don't hold
the head, but rather hold up the body, so-called body. And
they go out with the free will and they even put it on top of
their so-called church building. Free will! That's abomination
to God. Abomination. Are they ashamed? No. They glory in their shame.
They're ashamed of my glory. Did they blush? No. They can't
blush. They're not ashamed. Those whom
God reveals Himself to, they were in it, they're ashamed of
that, aren't they? You're ashamed of your past religion,
aren't you? You're ashamed of the fact that believed a lie
and rejected the truth. You're ashamed of that. And like
Saul of Tarsus, now you go out trying to undo what you did. I remember looking up people
that I didn't tell the truth to. My
old friend, looking them up and saying, you know what I used
to hate? I believe it now. It's the truth. Well, peace. There's no peace
for the wicked, our Lord said. Oh, but there is peace for God's
people through Jesus Christ. Well, he goes on down. Now, in
verse 16, here's where we are. The Lord said, thus saith the
Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, Stand ye in the ways and see. As for the old paths, stand and
see. That's what I want us to do this
morning and every day, every morning. Stop. and look around. That's what he said. Stand. Stop.
Just stop. Stand still and look around. And if you look
around, hopefully, you'll start calling. That's, you know, this day, a
day of rest, it's a day we come, it's good for us because everybody's
so busy. It's such a hectic pace. We all live in. We're like just
cattle, you know, just running, running, running, running here
and there and all. And the Lord brings us here thankfully
and sits us down and causes us to stop and think and consider
and meditate and hear His Word and look around and look at your
heart, examine yourself, but especially look around and see
what's going on. Have your eyes open through this
book, through the light. Have your eyes open to see all
that's around you and have your heart broken, have your heart
open to receive that Word and then start calling. Ask Him. Ask Him. Our Lord said there is none that
calleth. In Isaiah 59. There is none that asketh the
truth. None calleth. Psalm 14. None. God's people
do it by the grace of God. He brings us and we sit down
and we look around and if He speaks to us and we are able
by faith to enter in, we will find rest. Rest for our soul. That's what
I want for you and me both. He says stop and look around.
Folks don't have any time, do they, for anything. He says if you'll just stop and
look around, by His grace, you'll see what's happening. Won't you
see what's happening? How often does the Lord say,
be still? Their strength is to sit still. In returning and rest
you shall be saved. In quietness and confidence shall
be your strength. But you would not say, no, we're
going to run to Egypt. No. Just stop. Stop and look. And look around
you at the ways of man. Men say, this is the way. Walk
there. Young people really need to hear
this. This is the way. The ways of man. You've got to
grab all the gusto you can while you're young. You don't know
if you have tomorrow. That's a fool to even boast of
tomorrow when you might die. We need to stop and look around.
The ways of man are the ways of misery and destruction. The
ways of death. Scripture says there is a way
that seemeth right to man. But the end is destruction. It's
destruction. While Scripture says of the Lord's
ways, He said, all my ways are pleasantness and paths of peace. Sounds good, doesn't it? That's
enticing to me. Pleasantness and peace. You find any real pleasantness
here in this world? He said, ask for the old paths. I want you to go back to Deuteronomy
with me. This is Stan Anderson's favorite
chapter this morning. Deuteronomy 32. Oh, if only the
Lord give us ears to hear. Deuteronomy 32. The old paths. Where is the good way? Ask, he
said. Walk therein. Deuteronomy 32,
read these first seven verses with me. Do you have it? Give ear, O ye heavens, and I
will speak, and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. This is
the Lord speaking. My doctrine shall drop as rain,
my speech shall distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the
tender herb, as the showers upon the grass. Nothing more fragrant,
nothing more lovely, nothing more full of life, and just nothing
more pleasant, like a moaned path to walk on in barefoot right
after the rain. He said, that's my teaching,
my doctrine, my gospel. Read on. I'll publish the name
of the Lord, the scribe be greatness unto our God. Here's what we
need to hear, who we need to hear. He's the rock. His work
is perfect. All his ways are judgment, that
is, righteousness. God of truth without iniquity,
just and right is he. They have corrupted themselves.
Their spot is not as a spot of Israel. They are a perverse and
crooked generation. Do you thus requite the Lord,
O foolish people, unwise? Is not he thy father that hath
bought thee? Hath he not made thee and established thee? Remember
the days of old. Consider the years of many generations.
Ask thy father, he'll show thee. The elders, they will tell thee.
Old paths. Turn over to Psalm 25. Psalm
25. You know the Scriptures are the
best commentary on Scripture. We have our outlines and we quote
men and look up their works and quote them, but God's Word is
the best commentary God's Word. Psalm 25, he said, Ask a wise
man. Well, let's ask David. David
said in Psalm 25, verse 4, he's asking, David's asking, verse
4, Show me thy ways, O Lord, teach me thy paths, lead me in
thy truth, and teach me, for thou art the God of my salvation.
On thee do I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, thy tender
mercies. thy lovingkindnesses, for they
have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth."
Now, here's a man who knows God. Here's a man who knows himself.
Here's a man who knows his need. Here's a man who's asking for
the old paths. Remember not the sins of my youth,
nor my transgressions. According to thy mercy, remember
thou me, for thy goodness' sake. For Christ's sake, O Lord. Read
on. Verse 8. Good and upright is
the Lord, therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek
will he guide in judgment, the meek will he teach his way. Read
on. All the paths of the Lord, all
the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as lay hold
of and keep his covenant and his testimony. Oh, for thy name's
sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity. It is great. What man is he that
feareth the Lord? Him shall the Lord teach in the
way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at eve.
His seed shall inherit the earth. Yes, the secret of the Lord is
with them that fear him, and he will show them his covenant."
There's the old path. Wherein is the good way? Wherein
is Christ? You know, a path, a path, is
not a broad road, is it? A path is a small, narrow way,
well trodden, or it wouldn't be a path. Somebody's walked
it a lot, but not many, but it's small. And paths aren't so noticeable. I used to live in a cabin in the
woods up in Kentucky. I lived near a lake, and I lived
up on top of the hill there in that cabin. And I'd go out in
the woods, you know, walk around, and every now and then I'd see
paths through the woods. And what they were were deer
animal paths. Deer paths. You men that hunt know that.
You've seen well-trodden paths made by animals, mostly deer. You know where they lead? Every
one of them. Water. Water. They're looking for water.
Even the animals know they have water. Water of life. Paths. You know, they have the world,
our Lord says, goes the broad way that leads to destruction.
It's a huge, wide swath like buffalo. Buffalo roam the plains,
you know. There were millions of them.
Where are they? They're all together running
to their destruction. But as the heart panteth after
the water, so panteth my soul after thee, O Lord." Where's
the path to the water? That's what I want. I don't want
to go the broad. Join with us. It looks like fun.
It's death. Show me the path that leads to
God. Show me the way, the paths of mercy and truth. Show me the
truth. I don't want a false refuge.
I want the truth as it is. in Christ. Show me where God's
people walk. There are a few. Enoch, one man. It sounded like one man didn't
walk with God. Well, he ended up with God. Well,
that's the path I want to show you. Show me that old path. Well,
you're going to have to look to find it. Right? Paths aren't easily seen. You've got to look to find it.
But they're there. And once you find it, he says,
get in it and walk in it. And what you'll find at the end
of that path? Rest. Rest. Oh, it's easy to follow
the crowd. Young people, it's easy to follow the crowd. You
know where you're going to follow them to? Destruction. I know I was in it, and I almost
destroyed myself. Look around you. Look around
you. Isn't it easy to see that they're
literally destroying themselves? And you stay in that way, and
you'll die with them. But it, God, will lead you in
paths of righteousness for His name's sake, for His glory's
sake, for His honor's sake, for His goodness' sake, for His mercy's
sake. Oh, for goodness' sake. We say
that. It is for goodness' sake. If
it's good, it's for Christ's sake. For Christ's sake, lead
us and our children in paths of righteousness. The old paths.
Where is the good way? Every path of the Lord is mercy
and truth. Every word of the Lord, every
word of the Lord points to Christ's way. Every word of the Lord,
though it be words of warning, though it be words of dire warning,
though it be words of denouncing what is going on around you,
it's mercy. It's mercy. It's mercy. The world doesn't want to hear
that. Don't tell me. Like O'Ahab. O'Ahab said he wanted to do something
and Jehoshaphat said, Well, Ahab said he had all these false prophets
around. And he said, tell me what to
do. And they all said, peace, peace, nothing. It's all good,
king, do what you will, because they were on his payroll. Jehoshaphat,
king of Judah, said, we better call a true man. Is there anybody
out here to tell the truth? And Ahab knew him, but he didn't
like him. And he didn't call on him. His name was Micaiah. And Ahab
said, there is one man, but he never says anything good. He
said he never says anything good about anybody. It's always warning.
It's always, you know. And Josaphat said, we better
call him. We better call him. And they did. And Micaiah came
and he mocked Ahab. He said, what do you say? And
he said, go on. Everybody here say it's peace? And Ahab said, yep, they're all
in agreement. All these preachers are in agreement. It's all going
to be well. God loves us. And Micaiah said, well, go on
then. Go on. Ahab said, tell me the truth.
And the man said, you're going to die. And the dogs are going
to lick your blood up. And your wife, Jezebel, she's
going to die. And Ahab said, didn't I tell
you? Didn't I tell you? He never says
anything good. It's doom and gloom, this prophet. It was the truth. There's no
peace. There's no peace. And Ahab had
him put in jail. He said, take him, this Mekhi,
and free him with the bread and the water of affliction. Don't
let him out of there. And you know what happened? The
Word of the Lord is true. Ahab was shot. That was when
that story of one man shot a bow. One arrow flew and you know who
it hit? Ahab. And his wife was thrown down
and the dogs licked her blood up. One man telling the truth. He said, walk in the old path. Wherein is the good? Walk therein.
Does it no good to know the way and not walk in it? Does it?
Does it no good to know that Christ is the way and not come
to it? I believed in my head for years
that Christ was the way, the truth, and the life. I believed
in my head the truth, that God is true, that this word is true,
religion is false. But it does no good. if you don't come to him yourself.
You can argue, and say, that's good, I believe that's true.
But unless you see yourself as one of these doomed, dying sinners, and come to Christ and ask him,
yourself, for mercy. See, it doesn't do any good.
Unless you come to him. He said, All you that labor in a heavy
laden, I'll give you rest. Walk therein. Walk therein. The paths, the old paths, wherein
is the good way, the old truths. I find in preaching to you people
that have known the truth for a long time, that I find that
you like to hear more and more, over and over again, the old
truths, wherein is the good way, wherein is the truth, the way
of salvation, of a God who reigns in you. There is no peace for
the wicked who don't know God, but for those who do, thou wilt
keep them in perfect peace whose mind has stayed on Him. The Rock
of Jehovah. The reason we endeavor, and every
man that comes here in a couple of weeks is going to declare
God. No uncertain term. God reigning
and ruling. That's peace in it. The world
has no peace. God's people have peace. Rest. Resting in His sovereign will
and purpose and power. God who chose a people. And I
believe He chose me. I believe He chose me. You know
why? Not because of anything I've done. Not because I'm a
preacher. Not because I've done this or done that. Not because
I've given my body to be burned or this or that. That's not it
at all. But because He's shown me the truth. He's revealed the
truth to me. He's given me a love for His
Word. Up there in verse 10, it says, they have no delight in
the Word of God. The Word of the Lord is a reproach
to them. Is it to you? It's not to me. The Word of the
Lord is not a reproach to me. It reproaches me, but I need
that. I need that. I need the Lord
to convict me. The only good heart is a broken
one. I need Him to convict me of my sin. That way I'll run
to Christ. The Word of the Lord is my delight. Is it your delight?
I don't want to hear a man stand up and give me some sermon. I
don't want to hear about this and that and the other. I need
to hear the old gospel of God's mercy, of God's grace, sovereign,
electing grace. God chose a people in Christ
before the world began. And Satan and hell and high water
can't do anything about it. And Christ came. Jesus Christ,
the Son of God, came into this world, sent by the Father to
do a work. Did He do it? He said, yes, it's finished.
Who for? His people. Who are they? I think
I'm one of them. How do you know you're one? I'm
a sinner. I need Him. I need that gospel. I need to
hear it over and over again. The old paths. The old truths. Sound it loud. Sound the trumpet. God reigns. Christ is successful. Sins are gone. The Holy Spirit
comes and gathers every one of His people. We don't have to
have a bake sale. Christ said, I'll bring them.
Just stand up and preach. The bones will live. Your children
will come. Particle will come home. Now
that's peace and that's rest. We worry about our children.
And I tell you what, though, if there's one of God's elect,
He's bringing them. Nothing and no one can stop Him. If He's not, nothing we can do
to bring them. That's the old truth. Just rest
there in them. Rest there. Wait on the Lord.
Wait on the Lord. Wait, I say, on the Lord. The
old doctrine. of righteousness imputed. You
want to hear this, John? Righteousness imputed. That no
matter how you've sinned against the Lord, Jesus Christ was made
sin for you. That you might be made the righteousness
of God in Him. No matter what you've done against
the Lord, Jesus Christ satisfied God's justice. He came and was
made your peace. Made sin for you. Made your sin
substitute. Your sin offering. Your burnt
offering. And God accepted everything He
did. And He said, I'm well pleased
with Him and I'm well pleased with you, Christ said. Nothing
you did. Everything you did was sin. Everything
you do. Everything you do today, you
die. It's full of sin. But God is rich in mercy. For His great love wherewith
He loved you. Even when you are dead, and sin quickens you by
the gospel, by grace. Yes, it's by grace you're saved.
And has raised you together to sit with heaven, to receive with
Christ. Because He lives, we'll live
also. Is that good news? And He worked out this salvation,
and He imputes it, charges it to God's people. The law can't
say anything about it. The law satisfies. You don't
have to keep the law. No, you don't. We're not under
the law, we're under grace. Isn't that good news? Rest. That's the old truth. Anybody
who's not preaching that is not preaching the gospel. Anybody
who's preaching anything other than that, anything less than
that is not preaching the gospel. It's a lie. And there's no peace
in it. And there's no rest. But there's
rest there. Rest. The old truth. Rest for the soul. We rest in God's promises. We
rest in His unchanging grace. We rest in His eternal covenant
ordered in all things. And sure, we rest in His love. Let me tell those who know the
truth, those who love the truth, those who know their sinners
and need mercy and repentance toward God and believe Christ,
God loves you. And what that means is they love
you. And if God loves you, it's forever. And it's sovereign love. It's keeping love. It's providing
love. It's restraining love. It's constraining
love. It's eternal love. You can't
change it. You can't be unloved. You'll
never be unloved. You'll not be cast out. You can't
do it. So, you know, preachers go around telling everybody,
God loves you, God loves you, but you might go to hell if you
don't let Him. Then what does the love of God have to do with
anything? And I'm here to tell you the love of God is your salvation. If God loves you, you will be
saved. You are saved. The blood of Christ. Let's say
Christ died and made an offer for everybody, and died for everybody
and whoever accepts it. Oh, no. Then what does the blood
of Jesus Christ have to do with anything? If it didn't actually
put away sin, what's it got to do with anything? See, that's
a lie. But I'm here to tell you, if
Christ died for you, your sins are gone. They're gone. Forever. They'll look for them,
but they won't find them. It's under the blood, under the
mercy seal. That's peace. That's rest. They say, well, people believe
that. They do anything they want to. They live like the devil.
No, they don't. Ask somebody that does. They don't live like that. Alright, John, if you'll
come, let's sing in closing, Teach Me Thy Way. 337. 337. That way, O Lord. Teach me Thy way, O Lord.
