OK, go back to Acts twenty seven. I envy anyone in here who has
not heard this story before. But may God give us all ears
to hear like little children as if for the first time. The
story here in chapter 27, the actual story is of Paul's journey,
his perilous journey to Rome. He's a prisoner. being taken
to Rome, betrayed, where he will eventually be beheaded. But like
all other stories in Scripture, the real story, the purpose for
the story, the real story is hidden. The story within a story,
the story of our salvation, God's people, that is, their salvation
in and by the Lord Jesus Christ. All right, let's get right into
it. verses 1 and 2, when it was determined—the king, that is,
determined—that we should sail into Italy. They delivered Paul
and certain other prisoners to one named Julius, a centurion
of Augustus' band, and entering into a ship, Adramechum, we launched,
meaning to sail by the coast of Asia. It was determined and
purposed by the king, King Agrippa, whom Paul just appeared before,
determined by the king Agrippa himself that Paul and these other
prisoners would be sent to Rome for trial. So they entered into
a ship. They launched out on a perilous
voyage, which you read about. And every line in this story—we
cannot deal with every line. There are too many verses. Every
line, every word, every jot and tittle speaks of the Lord Jesus
Christ. We have to leave some out. You'll see some. Can't deal
with all of it for the sake of time. But what a picture. The king determined that Paul
would be delivered into this ship and had prisoners with him
to go to a certain place. And what a picture that is of
the God who is king, who had purposed all things, determined
the salvation of his people, and in doing so, he delivered
up his son. He gave his son a vessel, the
tabernacle among us, the ark of God. And these other prisoners,
these prisoners were with him. Now, the purpose of the king
was all around Paul. The king, King Agrippa, determined
everything about this ship and those that were in it. It was
all centered around the apostle Paul. determined for Paul to
go to a certain place to be tried. That was the whole reason for
this happening. And those that were with Paul,
their lives were bound up, wrapped up in the Apostle Paul. The whole
purpose of the king and all that was concerning Paul and those
that were with him were in that purpose. Are you reading between
the lines here? God Almighty had purposed all
things, determined all things. Everything is ordered and all
sure. He made a covenant, a purpose,
before the world began with His Son. God would make a world with
His Son, choose a world of people for His Son, for His glory, all
given to Him. What a picture this is. And the
Lord Jesus, Paul was a prisoner. Paul himself was a prisoner.
He was bound. The Lord Jesus Christ bound himself. He was bound. He was a prisoner,
bound by an oath, bound by a covenant, bound by the law, bound by his
love to his Father and to his people, bound by flesh. Made
a little lower than the angel. Delivered by God a captive along
with other prisoners. who are prisoners, because they're
with Paul, they're prisoners of hope. Now, listen to me. One man in
this whole ship was innocent. One man was innocent. The rest
of these prisoners were all guilty, hardened criminals. They wouldn't
be sending them to Rome. Every one of them would be sent
to Rome because they were the worst But one man was innocent. He
was in prison. He was captive for the truth's
sake. And what a picture that is of
the Lord Jesus Christ, the only righteous man. And we're all
guilty. But if we're with him, we've
got hope. So they entered into this certain
ship. You notice with me as we read, it was owned by someone.
It had a name. Particular ship. Ownership. They launched out
into the deep. They launched out on this voyage
into the deep with all its perils and all of its hardships. Verse
4 says, when they launched out, we sailed under Cyprus or nearby
or south of Cyprus because the winds were contrary. They launched
out into the ocean, but the winds became contrary to them. Now,
they all got on this ship. What is the purpose of the game?
This particular ship owned by someone headed in a particular
direction. And that ship, as you must know,
is the Lord Jesus Christ himself. He is that ark in whom the people
of God dwell, in whom they live and move and have their being.
And as we said, they're prisoners, they're captive, but they're
delivered into the hold or the fellowship of Christ himself. And those who Come to God by
Christ, those who are of God, put in Christ for safekeeping. They begin this voyage, this
life of faith, faith in Christ. They're committed to it, as we've
said so many times. Those who are in a ship, these
fellows in a ship, their whole life depends on the ship. Their
whole life is bound up in the ship. Every day, day in and day
out, their lives are concerning the ship. They think about it.
They wake up thinking about it. During the day, they're in the
ship. They go to bed thinking about it. They work around it,
on it, in it. Their lives, if their service
is toward it, their whole lives depend on whether or not that
ship gets to their destination. And so it is with those who are
in Christ. Christ is their life. And not
just in a saving sense, but in a real absolute sense. They think about him. They dwell
in him. They live for him. They serve
him, his people. Fellowship. That's what that
means. Fellowship. They live and move and have their
being in him. But this journey called the life
of faith, as perils, as many perils. Our Lord said this, in
the world you shall have tribulation, speaking to his disciples, those
in Christ. Now, David wrote concerning unbelievers. He said, they're not in trouble
as I am. They don't seem to have the problems
that I have. If God's people, the waters of a full cup of trouble
are wrung out unto them, Because that's what Christ promised.
That's what God said would be, that in this world you shall
have tribulation. He said to his people in the
last days, perilous times shall come. Perilous times to God's
people, not to the world. The world thinks it's good times.
Let the good times roll, you know. But to a believer, these
last days, these times we live in are perilous times. And they launched out into the
deep, it says. Psalm 107 says that they that
go down into the sea in ships, they see the Lord, the hands
of the Lord. They see the works of the Lord
and His wonders in the deep. Those in Christ will go through
deep waters. It must be so that Christ may
prove Himself to us, that faith may be tried, deep trials. Tribulation,
dangers, and hardship. But if in Christ, you have God's Word on it. This is what I'm saying.
I'm the preacher this morning, and this is what I say. If you're
in Christ, you're saved. But I didn't say that. God said
it. All those in Christ, the end
will be their salvation. I look at verses 7 and 8, when
we'd sailed slowly. Now they launched out in the
deep, and they began sailing, the wind became contrary, and
then finally the winds settled down, and they sailed slowly
many days. They didn't make much headway. An old sailing term,
headwind. Straight on, wind right behind
you to push you straight on, headway. Headway, not leeway,
headway. They didn't make much progress.
They weren't moving very rapidly. There were times when they seemed
to be moving along at a pretty good clip, making some progress. They were going along now. Then they entered into what's
called the doldrums. That's a time when there's very
little wind. There is wind, but very little. You're not conscious
of it. Ever been in the doldrums? And at times they felt like they
weren't making any movement at all. There were times when they
were going through troublesome seas, and then there were times
they were calm seas. Calm, troubled. They all went through this together.
Everyone of them in this ship went through the same things
together. Is it so with you? Well, in verses 9 and 10, a great
danger, a time of great danger came along. Much time was spent,
sailing was now dangerous. Paul said, Paul admonished them,
Paul warned them all and said, Sirs, Paul stood up, faithful
messenger, wise man amongst them. Is there a messenger amongst
us? Yes. The Lord sent this one man among 276. He said unto them, Sirs, I perceive
that this voyage will be with hurt, great injury, and much
damage, much loss, not only of the lady, but of our stuff. We're
going to lose all our stuff, and the ship is going to be destroyed. But even our lives are in danger. We're in a life-or-death situation
here. This is not a pleasant voyage.
This is not a Sunday cruise. We're headed to a certain destination,
launched out into the deep, committed to this ship. By order of the
king, we're headed to a certain place. It's a dangerous, perilous
journey, and you're going to lose everything. And the ship
itself is going to be destroyed. And our lives are in danger.
The faithful man that he was, he first warned them, didn't
he? And what of all the faithful
prophets down through time? The first thing, Isaiah. You
read the book of Isaiah. It was the first things out of
his mouth to his generation. What did he say to his generation?
Whoa, whoa, whoa, Jeremiah, and on and on. Not God loves you,
not it's going to be smooth sailing and nothing of harm shall befall
you. That's what Paul's prophecy.
But this thing, this thing is a matter of life and death, and
when it's all said and done, you're going to lose it all. And our lives are in danger.
This is not just a good story. Everyone in here, Faces he turned. Young and old. Doesn't matter
how young you are. I've told you this story. My
best friend, I pulled him out of a room. Fifteen years old. Fixated. Dead. Dead. Gone. Forever. Best friend. No one is immune from this. All
of Our lives are in danger, young people. Life is not just fun and games
and, you know, it's just... If you're not in Christ, you're
going to perish. You're going to perish. You're going to die anyway. You're
going to lose everything. Everything we own, vanity of
vanity, all is vanity. We're going to lose everything.
But it won't matter if you're in crime. The end will be good. And our Lord warned His disciples
over and over, didn't He? Our Lord told His disciples that
this world was going to be destroyed. Matthew 24 and other places.
The Lord told them over and over again, And Scripture tells us
that. The Lord is so faithful to His
people that this thing is a sinking ship. A sinking ship. And our lives are in danger.
And our Lord told them also, He warned His disciples and us
of His imminent death. We'll look at more in a moment.
Verse 11. Nevertheless, the centurion believed the master and owner
of the ship more than those things which were spoken about Paul.
Nobody believed him. And you know, when we first heard
this message, we didn't believe it, did we? Not knowing we were in Christ
at that time, we were still, even while we were yet centered,
we didn't believe this message. I heard it over and over again. Over and over again, but I didn't
believe it. Went on polishing the brass. And a great wind arose, verse
14, a south wind blew softly. South wind is what every sailor
hopes for. Supposing they'd obtained their
purpose, verse 13, they sailed slow. But verse 14, a tempestuous
wind, a great wind arose. Verse 15, a ship was caught,
could not bear up into the wind. We let her drive. They could
do nothing, in other words. In other words, just an old sailing
term. We couldn't drive, couldn't make any headway, couldn't go
forward at all, and we were totally helpless before the wind. So
what we did was we gave up. We quit trying, trying to go
back and forth, make headway into a strong wind. We gave up. Let her drive. Let the wind blow
us where it would. A sailing vessel is totally at
the mercy of the wind. A sailing vessel depends on the
wind, the wind which bloweth where it listeth. God's people do not drift aimlessly. Contrary to what the world thinks,
you know, that we're all living by chance, God's people do not
drift aimlessly. They are being controlled by
their God. by the Holy Spirit, who leads
and guides and directs and sends them, drives them, withholds,
keeps back, calms, settles, upsets. The Holy Spirit, the wind bloweth
where it listeth. God's people are being driven,
driven and led. Sometimes like sheep. Sometimes
sheep can be led. Other times, you need a rod to
drive them, don't you? But they're all going to a common
end, a safe haven. So they committed themselves
to the wind. These sailors and all on board committed themselves
to the wind. This went on all day and all
night. I hope you're still with me. Verse 18 and 19, we being
exceedingly tossed with a tempest. The next day we began to throw
things out of the ship. We were so exceedingly tried
by this tempest. Verse 19, third day. This went
on for three days. We cast out with our own hands.
Everybody got on it. The first day, we started throwing
things out. And somebody would say, don't
throw that out. That's my favorite sea chair. Don't throw that out.
We need that. We need that. How are we going
to do without that? And after the third day of going through
these strong trials, everybody was saying, let's get rid of
it all. None of this is of any good to us. It's just weighing
us down here. This stuff is going to sink us.
It's all vanity. There's one thing needful. Get
rid of it all. Even things that were dear to
them, their prized personal possessions, soon became to them a laden and
a heavy laden burden. You see that? And now, to this point, after
going through this tempestuous trial and so forth, Those things
that they thought near and dear to them were burdensome to them. They are
not going to give their lives in exchange for stuff. Now, is this not a good picture?
We just read that where our Lord said just a few chapters earlier,
what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Stuff. Stuff. What's it going to take to bring
a man to that point? Trial. Trial. We can say that, you know,
when everything's all fine and good. Our Lord said, except you forsake
all that you have, you cannot be my disciple. And nobody will
do that. Like old brother Scott Richardson
said, and he's been through it. Nobody in here has been through
it any worse than he has. And still going through it. He's
80 some years old right now, and he's going through the hardest,
the most tempestuous winds of his life. Like old Abraham after these
things. Then he went through the worst
trial of all. Old brother Scott and all his
wisdom through all his trials. weather-beaten sailor said, Christ is all when he's
all you've got. When everything else around you
is taken away, then Christ is all and you'll know. It says when neither sun nor
stars, they were in darkness for many days, appeared no small
tempest. It was a great storm. They were
in it for three days and in darkness all hope that we should be safe
was taken away. Is there anybody with me this
morning? Every believer is going to go
through this. Every believer has to some degree gone through this.
Every believer will go through this. You know, the longer I preach,
the more I want to do what God tells me to do. Comfort you,
my people. Don't worry about the goats.
Comfort my people. Paul told Peter, who was lifted
up with pride and all that, Paul said, Our Lord told Peter, when
you're converted, strengthen the brethren. Strengthen the brethren. Every believer will reach a point
of despair where they feel like all hope is gone. David reached
that point, didn't he? He thought all hope was gone.
The heavens and grass, his mercy, clean, gone. In his later life
when he committed a horrible sin and paid for it dearly, that's
when God led him to write our favorite song, God Be Merciful. Have mercy on me, O God. Have
mercy on me. When all hope seems to be gone,
all hope taken away, no small tempest, then God sends a preacher. Then
God sends a preacher, or sends you to him, back to him, verse
21, after long abstinence. Anybody? After long abstinence.
Paul stood forth in the midst of them and said, Sirs, the first
thing he does is rebuke them. All Scripture is given by inspiration
of God is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, Rebuke, correction. He rebuked them. He said, You
should have hearkened unto me. You're in trouble, aren't you?
You should have listened. But you didn't. Moses said this
over and over again to the people, and they weren't listening. Our
Lord said this over and over again. If they have ears to hear,
they won't hear. You should have hearkened unto me,
shouldn't you? Not have loosed from Crete, should have stayed
where you were and have gained this harm and loss in verse 22. And now I exhort you after reproof,
after rebuke. Now I exhort you. And the biggest
reason for our troubles is our own hardness of heart and stiffness
of neck and unwillingness to listen. That's the biggest source
of our trouble. Our sin brings great troubles upon us. Sword.
in our heart and in our lives. And now I exhort you, now. We're
not going to leave them there in despair. Be of good cheer.
I've got good news for you. Now Paul is going to give them
the good news, the gospel. That's what that means. Be of
good cheer. There shall be no loss of any
man's life among you but of the The ship is going to be broken
up. Not you. The ship is going to
perish. The ship is not going to be spared.
You are. Everyone in the ship. There's
not a man in the ship, not a woman in the ship, not a child in the
ship that's going to perish. The ship will. Oh, my, is this not a picture
of the Lord Jesus Christ and Him crucified? Huh? Huh? Oh, my. All our hope is in Christ. Christ was delivered up for us
all, Scripture says. Christ, who was made sin for
us, perished for the wrath of God, the hand of God. Christ,
the ark, like Noah's ark, that bore all that wind and waves
and flood and so forth. Everybody in the ship was saved.
Christ, in the end, told his disciples, take and eat this
bread. It's my body that's broken. God spared not his own son, but
delivered him up for us all. Let's spare that, those who are
in Christ. Well, be of good cheer. Those of you who trust Christ,
going through whatever it may be, and you will, whatever it
may be, be of good cheer. He said, The angel of God told
me this. The Spirit of God has revealed
this unto me, whom I am and whom I serve, verse 24, saying, Fear
not, Paul. You must be brought before Caesar,
and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
Christ is all and in all, is He not? Paul represents the Lord
Jesus Christ here, who said in John 17, All that thou givest
me I have kept, none lost. Noah, who represents the Lord
Jesus Christ. The ark represents the Christ
of Noah. God saved all those that were with Noah in the ark. And God saved all those that
were given to Paul. How was a man? How was a faithful
man? A faithful undershipper, a faithful
overseer, an angel of mercy. Literally, this man was an angel
of mercy to them and to us. We've heard his gospel. We heard from the Lord through
him, and so it is. The Lord gives faithful men. He said, Be of good cheer. I
believe God that it shall be even as it was told unto me.
However be it, we must be cast upon a certain island. We'll be cast on a certain island.
Now, the old saying is, No man's an island. Meaning that we're
all interconnected some way. We all somehow have dealings
one with another and everything depends on this and that and
the other and so forth. But believers now, those in Christ,
are going to feel like they're on an island. Yes, sir. They're in the world, but they're
not in the world. And they feel like they're deserted, and they
are. The world deserts them. But that's
all right. There's 276 of us. 276. Well, verses, just out of
hurry. In verse 27, it says, when the
14th night was come, we were driven up and down. They thought
we were coming near some country. They didn't know where they were
going. They didn't know where they were headed. See, they were committed
to the wind. The wind was blowing them somewhere, and they didn't
know where. And they thought they were approaching a shore.
They were approaching a shore. They didn't know where it was.
It was a place they were unfamiliar with, an unknown destination. The wind is driving them to this
unknown. They'd never been there, but
they didn't know where they were. Are you listening to me? And none of us have ever been
to Farrakhanin's land. None of us have ever been there.
That's where we're headed, and we're led and driven by the Spirit
of God to Farrakhanin's land. Some wanted to jump ship. Some
of these fellows wanted to jump ship. They got afraid in the
end. Now, the journey's about over. They're real near the land. Tammy, you're listening good.
Wonderful. They're real near to land. And just about when
they're there, when their journey's about over, some of them want
to leave. Some of them want to get out. Brethren, now is our
salvation nearer than when we first believed. How long have
you been sitting listening to the Gospel of the Saint? A long
time. Look at him. He was a young man with dark
hair and all that years ago, wasn't he? Henry, you've seen
him. Grow old right before your eyes, and he you. Him faster
than you. But long time at it. And now is your salvation nearer
than when you first believed? Now. You're close. Brother Henry
just turned 75. You're even closer. Real close. What are you going to do? Brother Charles back there Let us exhort one another daily.
So much more how we see the day approaching. The day is approaching.
What do I see? Land, hope. I'm not trying to
be clever or anything. This is the story. What do I
see? I see fair Canaan land. God's
people shall soon be gathered together. It's about over. It's about over. Don't jump ship now. Don't jump
ship now. You can't swim. You know, some of these sailors
could not swim. Back then, back in those old
days, a lot of these sailors could not swim. They were scared
to death of the ocean. They could not swim. They didn't
learn to swim because they were scared to death of the ocean.
They'd be in and around it and all they saw was sharks and whales
and octopuses. I'm not getting in that. You
need to learn to swim. No. They were afraid of it. They had a fear of the ocean
instilled in them. They knew they couldn't swim.
Don't try it now. When we learn the gospel first
of all, we say, we can't get the glory. We can't get the God
by ourselves. We can't do it. Well, in the
end, you can't either. You leave this ship, you're a
goner. That's what Paul went on to say.
Some grew afraid. And he said in verse 31, he said
unto them, Except these abide in the ship, they can't be saved. I told you, I've been telling
you all along, your safety is in the ship. They got out lifeboats. Well, let's try this. Cut it
off. Verse 32. They got, except these are by
the shivs, soldiers. I said, okay, let's cut the ropes,
let her go. I heard my pastor preach on this,
the title of the message. Cut the ropes and let her fall
off. Cut all helps, all hopes, all things you trust in, all
people, all things, all things you love and lean toward, cut
it off, let it fall off. Cast yourself in this ship, upon
the mercy of this ship. The mercy of God. Well, the sun began to come up.
And Paul urged them all, take a little food. Take a little
food, verse 34. I pray you take some meat. This
is for your health. There will not be a hair of your
head, Not a hair of your head fall.
Eat. He's encouraging them. First comes the rebuke, then
the good news, and then the peace and comfort. I pray you take
some meat. Eat. Not a hair of your head
is going to fall as well. Any of them. Any of them. Whoever said he
cried. The hairs of your head are numbered
with the Lord. Be of good cheer. So they did.
They started eating. And it cheered them up. They
hadn't eaten for a while. And you go without God's Word,
God's food, God's bread, which we truly live by, you'll become
down and discouraged and weak and anemic. Eat something. That's
what you need. I see it. So many anemic. You need some meat. on those
bones and go just beyond milk to eat some meat. And they did. In verse 35 and 6, verse 36,
they were all good cheer. Well, that just sounds good. Sounds good. We'll eat up. And 276 told when they'd eaten
enough, they lightened the ship even further. They got rid of
some more stuff. The longer they went, the more
they realized this is useless. What need have I of these things?
They lighten the ship even further. In verse 30, they cast out the
weeds. Some of you may have caught that.
The bread cast on water. In verse 39, when it was day,
they knew not the land. They didn't know where it was.
They discovered a certain inlet creek, and they reminded their
purpose to thrust in the ship. They took up the anchors that
they'd put down where they'd been sitting out in the water,
and they committed themselves unto the sea in this ship. Commit thy way unto the Lord,
the scripture says. He'll bring it to pass. He'll
bring it to pass. In Christ you're safe. And they loosed the rudder bands
and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind and made toward shore.
And they fell into a place where two seas met, two violent currents
met, two seas met, and the ship ran aground, stuck solid. I'm going to quit here just a
minute now. You're going to miss the climax
here. The ship that they were in, their salvation, their hope,
that which they'd been in for so long, ran into this place
where two violent currents of water met, two seas. God's water
curtain, violent curtain, met in this one place. And the ship
came into this place and ran past the ground. It stuck fast. The fore part, the head, the
head was stuck fast, unmovable. The hinder part, the lower part,
the belly of the ship was broken to pieces. That's Christ crucified. Scripture
says mercy and truth are met together. God determined to have
mercy. I will have mercy. Now hold on
here. Truth. Justice has got to be
satisfied. The soul that sinneth must surely
die. Righteousness None righteous, no, not one.
God is righteous. You must be righteous. And peace
hath kissed each other. Where? In Christ, at Calvary. And our head, the fore part,
the forerunner within the veil, our head met that headlong, and
stood fast, grounded, and settled. But the hinder part, his body,
his heel, What about those in him? What
about those in the ship? Well, read on. The soldiers counsel,
verse 42. Here's what the soldiers said.
Kill them all. Kill all these prisoners. You know what? They deserved it. They said they're
good fellas now. They've been helping. They've
been traveling all this time. We've got to know them, and they're
pretty good fellas. We like them. Well, so-and-so doesn't seem
like a bad fella. Well, there's old Wesley. He
started out a hardened criminal. He's changed his ways. Well,
he's a good fellow now. He's just a good old boy. One
of us now. Kill him. No, no, no. He deserves to die. Charles, you're the oldest one
in here. After all these years, are you now a good man, worthy
of heaven? God ought to spare you, huh?
That's what you hope, Charles. A man in charge, the one in charge
says, nope. Determining to save Paul. Did you read that with me? Willing to save Paul. He's going to spare these prisoners.
But, Melanie, you're hearing this. He's going to save these
no-good, worthless criminals because of Paul. See, the king
long before determined, Paul's going to go to this certain place.
Paul. It's all about Paul. And everybody, I'm going to put
them with Paul. And if Paul makes it, they make
it. And Christ is the purpose of all things. Christ, God determined. to send in this world to save
his people, to do all that's necessary. The glory of God,
the love of God, the wisdom of God, all things are wrapped up
in Christ, and we're prisoners of hope. Why? Who? Christ is
our hope. If Christ makes it, we make it. And God said, here's the mystery,
Christ died. Christ died. He perished like
the ship. He was not spared. He was broken.
His body was broken. Nevertheless, he liveth. He liveth. And because he lives,
I live also. Kill them. The law still says
I'm guilty. Kill them all. They're still
unworthy. But God says, spare them for
Christ's sake. For Christ's sake. Verse 44,
so it came to pass that they escaped. How many? Well, 273 of them were pretty
good swimmers, but three of them just couldn't swim. Nope. Couldn't swim. Some were stronger
than others, and the strongest strong survived. Nope. Couldn't
swim. Well, pretty good captain, not
too bad. You know, most of them were saved.
Nope, doesn't say it. Everybody that was in that ship,
saved on me. Saved on me. Because of the king's
determination and because Paul was with him. And what a picture
of Christ that is. And I failed to tell it. Or at
least I failed to get your attention. That I preach Christ. I always
do. The good news is, you're in Christ. He said it. Now what you know,
so you're in. That's who you're with. It's
all determined by you. Trust Christ, Him alone. Come
to Christ. Your life's in danger. All this
stuff's going to be lost. This thing's going down. And
in the world, you shall have tribulation. Come to Christ,
it's not going to be pleasant. But the end is wonderful. They were shipwrecked on a tropical
island. Tropical island. And we're not going to look at
that. We're not studying that. But they were on this tropical
island, and the people treated them like boys. And I'm sure, Barbara, after
they'd been there a while, they didn't want to leave. And now
that we're away, we don't have to. All right, little Gabe, come
and lead us. M number 441. Stand together. We'll sing the first and last
verse. And we'll change the word love to Christ. 441. I was sinking deep in sin Far
from the peaceful shore Very deeply stained within Sinking
to rise no more But the master of the sea Heard my despairing
cry From the waters lifted me, now safe am I. Christ lifted me, Christ lifted
me. When nothing else could help,
Christ lifted me, Christ lifted me. Christ lifted me. When no one else could help,
Christ lifted me. Last verse. Souls in danger,
look above. Jesus completely saves. He will lift you by His love
out of the angry waves. He's the master of the sea, billows
His will obey. He your Savior wills to be, be
saved today. Christ lifted me, Christ lifted
me. When nothing else could help,
Christ lifted me. Christ lifted me, Christ lifted
me When nothing else could help, Christ lifted me Thank you. I'm just trying to be a good
person to you. I'm just trying to be a good
person to you. I'm just trying to be a good
person to you. I'm just trying to be a good
person to you. And I can't help but listen to
the angels sing. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Yeah. The End
