The Lord was here speaking to His disciples, actually speaking
in the audible voice of God. The Word was made clear. He spoke. God has spoken unto us in these
last days by His Son. He spoke. They could trust everything
He said. Often He said, verily, I say,
Meaning, truly, I say, he is the truth, a God who cannot lie,
barely. In John's gospel he kept saying,
barely, barely, truly, truly, I say. And they could trust everything
he said. Heaven and earth would pass away,
but not one word that he spoke passed away or was untrue. Peter said, we have a more sure
word of prophecy, whereunto you do well to take him. This is his word. As we were
saying this morning, when the Lord reveals these things, Isaiah
29 talks about the blind shall see out of obscurity. When the
Lord opens your eyes to see wondrous things from his law, You see,
this is God's Word. If God, the Holy Spirit, speaks
to you through the preaching of His Word, it's like an audible
voice. You see, God spoke to me. Really, really. This is how He
speaks. He said, My sheep hear My voice,
and they follow Me. What's His voice? Right here.
My heart is leaning on the Word, the written Word of God. Remember
thy Word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast called me down. And he does. To all that pray
that, he does. He does. Well, the title of this
message is True Faith, Great Faith. Last week we looked at
true worship, the story of the leper. I read them together because
that's the way they're written. We looked at true worship. Today
we're going to look at true faith, the story of a Roman centurion,
that is, soldier, a Roman soldier who had great faith. Now, God's
Word says much about faith. God's Word says much about faith.
He says this, without faith it's
impossible to please God. That's serious. Impossible. God is not pleased with anything.
As a matter of fact, He says whatsoever is not of faith is
sin. He says the just shall live by
faith, being justified by faith. It's very important, isn't it?
Faith honors God, takes God at his word. That's what faith does.
What is faith? What is true faith? What is great
faith? There are only two persons in the New
Testament that the Lord himself said had great faith. The Lord spoke of two persons
that had great faith. It wasn't Moses, it wasn't Elijah, it wasn't Daniel, it was not his disciples. In
this same chapter, a little later, he says, O ye of little faith,
to his disciples. Let's look at one of them, OK?
Maybe we'll see what true faith is, what great faith is. Verse 5 says, When Jesus was
entered into Capernaum. Let's stop a minute. There's much to be seen in every
line. Capernaum. The Lord had been here before.
This was not his first visit to Capernaum. The Lord came here
to this city on purpose. But he had been here before,
and he healed a demon-possessed man. But the fact is, there were
not many believers in this town. As he said in another place,
he could do no great works there, because there were not many of
his people there. And later on, the Lord condemned
this city. He said, O Capernaum, like Chorazin,
Bethsaida, and so forth, condemned them for their unbelief. And I thought about, what about
this town? The Lord of glory passed through
Capernaum. And there weren't many believers
there. I mean, God walked through there.
And really, you think of all the gospel that's been preached
here. Whoa, under the Rocky Mountains.
and other places where the gospel has been. And the Lord said this,
I keep quoting this verse in Luke 18 verse 8. When the Son
of Man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? True faith?
Shall he find it? Faith like this centurion? This
is true faith. True faith. Will he find this?
Do you have it? Do I have it? All right, so it says in verse
five, when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, and again, where
two or three are gathered, that's where he is, he said, there came
unto him a centurion. Now, it says when he came down
from the mountain, great multitudes followed. Everybody followed
him. There's Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, love Jesus. Big crowds followed
him. But a leper came and worshiped him. And I'd love to go right
back into that again. Worshiped. Well, they were still following
him, these big crowds. He came into Capernaum, the city,
and there came unto him, now here comes a centurion. Now what's
a centurion? Well, I'll tell you in a minute.
This is a soldier, but Luke's Gospel. Luke's Gospel, which
we looked at before. Chapter 7, verse 2 says, "...a
certain centurion." Just like Stannis said, a certain leper,
a certain woman with an issue of blood, and so on. Luke's Gospel
says, "...a certain centurion." How many soldiers were in the
Roman army at this time? How many of them were stationed
in Capernaum? How many lepers were in the place at this time? Now, this is a certain centurion,
the Lord of Glory, you see. This God, our God, works all
things after the counsel of his own will. Will meaning, not desire,
but will means purpose. That God worketh all things after
the counsel, that is the predetermined, whatever it was that God had
before the world began. God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
this covenant they made, this agreement, this purpose that
they purposed, His will. That's what that's talking about.
In time, He worketh all things according to that. Known unto
God are all His works from the beginning. He knew. He said,
I've spoken it. It'll come to pass. I'll do it.
That's exactly what I want to do. Every step he took, God was
manifest in the flesh, and every step he took, every word he spoke,
every gesture he made was divinely ordained before
the world began. It says a certain centurion. The Lord came to earth to certain
cities. He came to Capernaum at this
exact time because that's what he purposed to do before the
world began. to come to Capernaum at this certain time. He came
to certain places, like when he came to that certain well.
How many wells were around Samaria at that time? More than one.
He came to Jacob's well, because he's the god of Jacob. And there's
a certain lady that he had an eternal appointment to meet. Certain well a certain sycamore
tree how many trees were in the land of Judea and the Lord walked
under one certain tree and it just happened to be it was Zacchaeus's
hat to be up the right tree as one of our brethren said he was
up a tree on purpose. Certain tree a certain tax table
there was a How many tax collectors? There was a whole bunch of publicans
around that day, about like lawyers today. And he went by a certain
table, a fellow named Mathias, a certain fishing dock. Now,
this whole place, the whole coastline was full of fishermen. He went
by a certain boat, a couple of certain boats, and chose certain
men. The Lord, before the time began,
chose certain persons foreknown by him, given to him in a covenant,
and he gave them to his son in a covenant. And this centurion
was one such certain person. And listen to me now, listen.
This is a message that should be of great comfort. If you have
the same faith as this man, if you have the same faith as this
man, you too can have great comfort in knowing that you're a certain
person. that the Lord has chosen one
of his elect according to the foreknowledge of God. Yes, you
can. Knowing, brethren, the love of
the Lord, your election. Yes, you can. You can know. If
you have this man's faith. Interesting. All right. Someone may argue
that the leper came, but the leper came, the leper sought
the Lord, and the centurion did too, he came to the Lord, didn't
he? Come, didn't he seek the Lord? Of his own free will? No, no, no. I love this verse,
John, Psalm 65, verse 1, I am sought of them that ask not for
me. And only God's people know what
that means. You know it? The average person, what? What
do you mean, you sought of them that asked not for me? He says,
I'm found of them that sought me not. I'll give you a good
illustration of that. It was, wasn't it Philip that
said, Come, we've found him. Philip said that, wasn't it Philip
that said that to Nathaniel, did he? I think. He said, Come,
we've found him. Philip, you weren't even looking.
You weren't even looking. He found you. But it's simultaneous,
isn't it? Simultaneous. This thing of seeking
the Lord, calling upon the Lord, it comes when the Lord, whenever
the Lord, it's simultaneous, like a lost sheep. When the good
shepherd goes into the wilderness to find the one that's lost,
he lays hold of it and finds the sheep, says, lays hold of
him. They found each other. But who
was looking for who? So, you know, the Lord gets the
glory. That's why we labor that point, isn't it? That's why.
He must get the glory in seeking and saving. Nobody seeks the
Lord until they're sought. Nobody seeks the Lord until they're
sought. I had no interest whatsoever. I had no interest whatsoever.
I see that on the faces of some. No interest whatsoever. They're
not going to until the Lord seeks them. Nobody calls until they're
called. Nobody comes until they're drawn. Nobody believes until he begins
to work according to his mighty power. That's grace. My pastor calls
it grace before grace. God's power operating before
our faith. Now, notice who this was. It
says a centurion. A certain centurion, Luke said,
came to him, beseeching him. A centurion. This is a Roman
soldier. There's a whole lot going on
about Rome today and all over. I don't know why I see a modern
man begins to glamorize what was utterly an abomination to
God. I do know. I do know, too. But
there's a lot about Rome, and Rome was a decadent. We call it civilization. It was
managed best state up to that point, I guess. Before that,
it was a bunch of barbarians, I guess. But Rome was a despicable
place. A despicable place. And the worst
Roman of all. was a soldier, a Roman soldier,
a centurion. This is a captain. This is like
a staff sergeant, a drill sergeant. In the Roman army, a soldier
in the Roman army, a centurion was the most ruthless, vicious,
violent, killing machine the world has ever known. He didn't
think anything. I was just reading recently And
how they used to take children for sport and just slaughter
them. Children of their enemies. Just like animals. Civilized
people. And they hated Jews. The Romans
hated Jews. They just tolerated them. See, they owned the world at
that time. Thought they did. The Roman kingdom. They thought they owned the world.
They had these providences and there weren't enough of them
to go around. governors they put in place,
like Pilate, put in these various places all over the world, and
they put garrisons of Roman soldiers in there to ensure Roman law. Well, these soldiers hated these
filthy Jews. They thought they were way beneath
them, hated them, and they were irreligious. Romans didn't have
a religion. They were like Nazi Germany,
absolutely like Nazi Germany. A Roman centurion came begging this Jewish carpenter
for help. Now, he's a rich man. He has
servants, doesn't he? He has servants. He's a rich man. Scripture
says, How hardly shall they that have riches enter the kingdom.
It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of an eagle than
a rich man. What about a rich soldier? What about a rich, heathen,
violent, rotten, no good soldier in the Roman army? With man this
is impossible. Like a leper willing himself
clean. That's impossible, isn't it?
There's only one person that can heal a leper, but there's
only one that can make a Roman centurion bow his knee and beg
him for something. Beg a Jew. A teacher. I'm with man, it's impossible
with God. All things are possible. I look
into the faces of some in here that at one point, I thought
there's no way that that person, the Lord's never going to, that
there's just no way that person's never going to be. Let me just pick on one. Can
I pick on you, Dan? Dan told his wife when he first came,
and he'll be He tolerated it, didn't he? For Jill's sake. He
did. He told her very adamantly, just
so-and-so preacher is going to preach my funeral. I want you
to know that I had my belief. And there are others in here
that I thought, oh, it would really be a miracle if the Lord
does something for them. With man, it's impossible. And
with God, he's able to save to the uttermost. Well, this centurion
came by God's grace, by God's grace before grace, and his power,
beseeching Christ, once again, like the leper. He was begging,
he was pleading with him. Now, this is a man of means.
He has everything at his disposal. And we'll see in a minute. Authority,
power. He could snap his fingers. Anybody
do anything. A man of means. He had the money
to do anything he wanted to. He had the authority. He had
the, what's the word? He was known
by everybody. He had the connections that he
could, he could have anybody do anything for him. But not
this time. He's helpless. And he comes to the only one
that can do anything for him. He's helpless, hopeless, without
strength, poor, and needy. And he comes to the only person
that can help him with this great trouble. And he's a beggar now. He was a man of means, great
wealth, and well-known by all. Now he's a nobody, a beggar,
coming to the only one that can help him. This is exactly why
every person comes to Christ. This is how we're brought to Christ.
This is what faith does. And here's what he says, verse
6. He says, Lord, whosoever shall call on the name,
what name? Jesus. You call me Lord and Master. If you do, you say, well, for so
I am. There's one denomination that
talks about Jesus this and Jesus that, son of Mary, and then talks
about the Mother of God. Every one of God's people comes
to the Lord and Master of the universe. It's one. There's one
name given under heaven whereby we must be saved. Isn't it? One
name. And when you hear of this Jesus,
who he is and what he's done, where he is, you'll confess he's
Lord. And that's the way you'll refer
to him from then on out. The fear of the Lord is the beginning
of wisdom. And so once you have this saving
fear, that's what you refer to, man. That's how you come to it. You bow to it. That's your confession. Lord, you see, you're the servant. He's the master. You're the peon. He's the king. You're the pauper. He's the regal royal majesty
on earth. You're the beggar. He has everything. Don't claim anything like this
leper. Don't claim anything. Don't come with pride. Old Roman
centurion reminds me of old Naomi, the leper. A great man, but he
was a leper. This is a great man, centurion
of Roman army. He's poor indeed. Well, he says,
Lord, Lord, my servant, Verse 6, "'Lord, my servant, life at
home, sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.'" Now, here's another remarkable
proof of God's grace upon this man. He says, "'Lord, my servant is sick.'" Now, Roman soldiers don't give
a flip about their servants. If one of them dies, you get
another one. They're just a bunch of servants,
probably a Jew. But this man did. He's greatly
concerned about his servant. Luke's gospel says his servant
was very dear unto him. The Lord has softened this hard
man down to the point where he was very tender and gracious
and kind with his lowly servants. And it also says the people of
the town where he was, Capernaum, the Jews all loved him. It says
he provided them a tabernacle, a synagogue. He was a wealthy
man and he provided money for them to raise up a Jewish synagogue.
A Roman soldier loved the people, the Jews, and had great tenderness
and compassion upon this lowly servant. Oh, it's another remarkable proof
of God's saving grace. Oh, my, you know, this was this
was God's work. This is not this is not in man. Man thrives on oppression and
notoriety and so forth. This man was very concerned about
others. You see, this is a further proof. Who does God help? Those
that help themselves. Those are a couple of genuinely
concerned. That's God's grace, is it not?
That's what grace does to a man. That's what grace does to a man
or a woman. It makes them more concerned
about themselves. And we're going to see in a minute,
it makes them have a very low opinion of themselves. Though others might speak highly
of them. They don't think very highly of themselves. This is
the grace of God. This is the saving grace of God. All right,
look at verse 7. The Lord said unto him, and in
case you don't know, the scripture is written by God. This is God's
word under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, which says Jesus. Why does it say Jesus? Why doesn't
it say Lord? To distinguish him from the Lord on the throne,
that this is talking about the man who walked there, Jesus.
Whenever he'd say, Lord, you wouldn't know if he's talking
about God. So to distinguish the man, Jesus, he is Lord. He's the Son, yes, but you call
him Father, everlasting God, right? Everlasting Father, God. All right? It says, when Jesus
saith unto him, I will come and heal him. He said to the soldier,
I will come and heal him. Now that caught my attention. The Lord said, you remember the
leper said, Lord, if you will, you can. We've noted how the modern religion
across the board says, He can, if you will. Or you will, if you can, if you
will. That's not the confession of
God's people, any of God's people. They say like a leper, a dying
leper. Lord, if you will. It's all according
to your will. If I'm healed or not, if I live
or die, it's your will. You can. You have all power,
authority, ability. You can, if you will. It doesn't
matter what I will. My will won't be done. Your will
will be done. It always has been. It will never
be done. You will. You can if you will. That's the confession of all
of God's people. Well, this centurion came to
him, beseeching him, and the Lord said, I will come. Just
like the Lord said to the leper, I will be thou. And he touched
him. I will. The scripture says the
Lord will show mercy. This is great mercy that the
Lord will show mercy. It's on whom he will. Mercy is
always sovereign in it. Mercy is always the prerogative
of the one that's going to show it. Right? It says, I will show
mercy. I can't wait to get to that in
Exodus 33. God says, I will be gracious. And we, you know, we love God's
sovereignty unto whom I will be gracious. We love that. That's
His glory. But He will. He will be gracious. We noted this before, the Lord's
more ready to forgive than we are to ask for it. You know who I'm talking to.
I'm talking to God's people. I'm not talking to the world.
I'm not begging sinners to accept Jesus. No, no, no. But I'm telling
God's people, who are a bunch of sinners until the day they
die, the Lord is ready to pardon. Like the father waiting on the
son. How many times are we a prodigal? All our lives. And we come back
to the father. Is he waiting? He waits to be
gracious. That took a hold of me. I never
really thought about that scripture in reference to our study last
time. Now, the Lord waits to be gracious. Like Joseph, that was his brother.
Joseph wanted to embrace, and he was going to, he was going
to embrace his brother. He's going to reveal himself to his
brother. He's going to show mercy to his brother. But in time,
in due time, patiently, it's going to have its perfect work
on them. And then he's going to embrace
them, weep over them, hug them. It's going to be a grand joyous
time, but not until it's time. And the Lord waits to be gracious,
preparing that prodigal, putting him in the hog pen. bringing
him back home, and that the kiss of the Father
will be sweet. So he'll take his place where
he belongs, the servant. Just make me a servant. Just give me some crumbs from
the master's table, that's all I want. That's it. The Lord says, I will. The Lord will be gracious. The
Lord will hear. The Lord will hear. Scripture
says he'll bow his ear. Why should the Lord of Glory
stop for one leper? Huh? The Lord Jesus Christ had
the weight of the world on His shoulders walking through, and
one old leper off to the side hollered, and He stopped. He will hear. He will hear. Nancy, He will hear. He'll stop. He'll stop what he's
doing. Everyone that calls on him will call on him. The Lord will come. The Lord will come. Lord, would
you come? He will. He will. Now, it was faith for
the centurion to come to the Lord. It was faith. This is what faith is, coming
to Christ. That's faith in a nutshell, coming to Christ. Believing he's the only one who
could do what he needed to be done. Only one. That's faith
in a nutshell. Faith is to believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Faith is this, a persuasion. firm persuasion of someone's
ability. You're not going to believe in
him if you don't trust him. I've used the illustration before
of the chair. I used this. You've all seen
this many times. Down on the island, down on Tortola,
I got a chair up there. What's he going to do? And I used that illustration
and I never forgot that. I don't know how many of them
came up to it. I see. His faith is persuasive. I believe
that bench is able to hold me up. It's a strong bench. I absolutely believe it's made
of wood. It's strong. It's able. Is that it? I believe in Lord Jesus, I believe
in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, I believe I'm a sinner,
I believe I'm saved by grace. That's part of daddy's knowledge,
ability, persuasion. Faith is trust, trust. We believe, faith, we sang that
song, trust him. We sing that song, Only Trust
Him. You will not commit yourself to somebody you don't trust.
You won't confide in them. You won't ask their counsel.
You won't ask their advice. You won't give anything to them. You won't commit to them. You
won't. But somebody who you think is greater than you, more powerful
than you, better than you, completely trustworthy, everything he says,
he'll do. Trust and his commitment. I get on that bench. I get on
it. I mean, cast a whole weight of
my person on that bench, and I believe on it. You see? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Commitment. Commitment. All right, here's
true faith. Look with me. Verse 8, and I'm going to quit.
The Syrian centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy
that thou shouldest come under my roof, but you speak the word
only. Just speak the word, and my servant
shall be healed. He says, I'm a man under authority,
having soldiers under me. I say to this man, go, and he
goes. To another, come, and he comes. To my servant, do this,
and he doeth it. Lord, all you have to do is Say
the word. Don't come to my house. I'm not
worried. I'm not worried. Here's true
faith. Here's great faith. Go with me to Revelation five.
OK, Revelation five. Revelation five, go over there
with me. I know a lot of folks today, you'll hear a lot of these
modern religious songs talk about worthy, worthy. Oh, they like
to sing it. Worthy, worthy, worthy. They
don't believe that for a minute. Because our Lord said, we saw
clearly our Lord said, many will say unto me, many will say unto
me in that day, Lord, we have done this. We have done that.
We have done many wonderful work. In other words, they're saying,
Kelly, they're saying we're worthy for you to take us into your
heaven. Look what all we've done. This is what people mean when
they say everybody deserves a chance to be saved. That's what they
mean by that. Barbara, that's what they mean
by that when they say everyone deserves a chance. What do you
mean? They're worthy. That's what they mean by that.
He has some redeeming qualities. There's not one person in heaven
believes they're worth being there. Not one person. Not one
person in heaven believes anybody ought to be here ought to be
me. Not one. Look at this. Revelation 5, verse
9 says, and he passed, Revelation 5, 9 says, they sung a new song,
thou art worthy to open the seals thereof, to
take the book and open the seals. Thou was slain, and thou hast
redeemed us to God by thy blood. Verse 10, thou hast made us kings
and priests. Read on down. It says, I heard
a voice of many angels, ten thousand times, ten thousand, thousands
of thousands. Verse 12 says, with a loud voice, Worthy is
the Lamb who was slain. He died. When
they asked Paul, Who are you? He said, Nothing. I didn't die
for you. He said, Peter didn't die for you. Mary didn't die
for you. There's one that died for you. He's worthy. Worthy is the Lamb.
For what? They receive all riches, and
wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. It says
every creature in heaven, read it with me, every creature in
heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth. People in hell
right now are forced to admit there's one worthy, under the
earth, saying, blessing, and honor, and glory, and power be
unto him. He's worthy. This centurion. Here's faith, here's real faith,
true faith, the faith of God's elect, great faith, the Lord
says, great faith. He says, I haven't seen such
faith, great faith, not even amongst these religious people,
all these religious people. He says, here's great faith,
the man says he's not worthy. The man didn't do anything great.
He didn't do great. He just said, I'm not worthy
for you even to set foot in my house. I'm a no good, despicable,
vile sinner. You're the Lord of glory, King
of glory, altogether lovely, holy one. Don't, Peter said,
depart from me, Lord. I'm a sinful man. Most people
just be honored. Come home with me. Well, he's
coming home with me. Hey, he didn't come home with you, did
he? He's coming home with me. No, not this man. He said, Oh, Lord, I'm not worthy. I can see how you go home to Peter's
house. He's one of your apostles. I'm not worthy. As I said, preachers so-called
get up and thank people for coming to God's house. God's people,
every one of them, to a man, say, I'm not worthy to be here.
Like the publican sitting on the back row said, I'm not worthy
like a Pharisee, but God be mercy. He's on the last row. Well, the
last shall be first in the kingdom. There's a man on the front row
right now of heaven. Well, who is it? That publican.
And a harlot right beside him. And a centurion. And a leper. And the chief of sinners, a blasphemer
and a persecutor, injures a Saul of Tarsus on the front row. He came to cause sin. I'm not worthy. Great faith. Great faith has a low view of
himself. Here's faith. Faith has a low,
very low opinion of himself. The only way a person will ever
have a low opinion of themselves, and here's the second thing,
is if they have a high view of God. Only if you seek God as
he is, Christ as he is, all that Christ is and did and does, will you have a low opinion of
yourself, a low opinion of yourself. And see, this man said, Lord,
you just speak. You don't have to go and pass
your hand. You don't have to go through
all this ceremony and all that. All you have to do is speak.
In other words, he didn't have to see a miracle. He had to see
a sign. He didn't have to see anybody. His faith wasn't in what he saw. He wasn't looking for a sign.
Just speak. I trust. I believe your word
is your power. And the Lord said, this is great
faith. Says He marveled, John. Says
He marveled. Marveled. And folks, I haven't
seen great faith like that in the world anywhere. I see it
in God's people. You don't see that out there.
The evil and adulterous generation seeks out for a sign. God's people
don't. They just want a word. Just give
me a word. Give me a word. Great faith has a low view of
self, a high view of the Lord, His person, His authority, His
power. He said, Lord, I'm a man of authority. I'm a man of means.
I'm a man of authority and power. Whatever I say goes. Whoever I say come, they come.
Whoever I say you do this, they do that. How much more? The Lord of Lords. But He can't
do anything. But here's the great thing. He
can do anything. He can do anything. Whatever
the Lord please. That did He. Isn't that what
the scripture says, John? Whatever the Lord please, that
did He in heaven and earth. What does your God do, David? Well, He's on the throne right
now, seated. Not worried about anything. He's
not discouraged. He shall not fail or be discouraged. Because he knows what he's purposed
to do with the world, and he hath done whatsoever he hath
pleased. That's my God. That's my God. Faith has a low view of experience.
Faith has a high view of God's Word. High view. That's why God withholds his
Word from people, you know it? That's why God withholds his
word from most people. They can read the very same things
you do and get nothing from it. So he withholds it. They can't
say. And the Lord went on to say,
verse 11, I say unto you that many shall come from the east
and west. That means further east than
Jerusalem. That means China, India. Places
like that. And the West, where's that? Right here. "...and shall sit
down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." I know several from this
congregation sitting right now with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They're known unto God just like
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Sitting there right now. They're
those ones that we were reading about right now. They're saying
the Word. But the children of the kingdom,
verse 12, children of the kingdom, those that think they're in,
those that are good Orthodox Jews, good Orthodox Baptists,
good Orthodox Calvinists, good Orthodox Catholics, good Orthodox
Methodists, shall be cast out in the outer dark. They shall
be weeping. Oh, it's going to be horrible.
Utter, utter surprise. We've been a nation of two. I've
often wondered, and there's great debate about if there'll be a
big revival among the Jews. Do you read that with me? They cast out. Well, Jesus said,
now look at this, Jesus said unto the centurion, go thy way. And as thou hast believed, so
be it done unto thee. The servant was healed in that
selfsame hour. As thou hast believed, so be
it done unto thee. As thou hast believed. Do you
believe that Christ is worthy alone? Do you believe that you're unworthy? Do you believe he's able? Do you believe he will be gracious? Do you believe he will show mercy? Do you believe that his mercy
and there are. As now has to leave. So be it
on the. What did the man. Believe Christ. As I believe. So be it unto you. I must be
a certain person. I guess. I believe I'm unworthy. I believe he's worthy. I don't need a sign. I don't
want a sign. Do you? I don't need a miracle. This
is a miracle. This is a miracle in that. This
is a miracle. We just behold miracle after
miracle. And God's word is, I don't need anything else. I don't need
anything else. Do you, John, do you need anything
else than what he's already said? Then you must be a certain person.
Of course, as you believe, so be it. It's good enough. Okay. Hymn number 359, and let's stand. First and last verse, number
359. My faith looks up to Thee, Thou
Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine. Now hear me when I pray, take
all my sin away. Oh, let me from this day be holy
night When end's life's transit free,
When death's cold sullen stream Shall o'er me roll, Let Saviour
