Okay, you may be seated. And open your Bibles back to
2 Peter, 2 Peter chapter 1. Now, I'm not trying to be dramatic
at all. There's no place for dramatics
in preaching. But what if I told you that I was going to die very soon, and that this was my last message.
Would you listen very carefully? I'm quite sure you would. I would
too. And for that matter, this may
be. But this letter of Peter to us What we just read is indeed
the dying words of the Apostle Peter. These were the dying words of
the Apostle. But more than that, this is the
Word of God. So we would do well, as Peter
said, to take heed. Listen very carefully. You understand
what I'm saying? If a man is dying, now what he's
going to say, the last thing he's going to tell you is you need to sit up and listen
to it, don't you? It must be pretty important.
In verse 13, Peter says this. He says, I think it's neat or
fit. As long as I'm in this tabernacle,
this body, as long as I am breathing, living, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance.
Stir you up. You need it, I need it. Stir
it up out of indifference, out of carelessness, out of lethargy,
out of, you know, the Lord. As they said, the Lord delays
his coming. Some said that. He delays his
coming. No, God is not. like men concerning their promise.
Oh no, he's going to come when he has purposed to come. But we need stirred up, don't
we? We need to be stirred up out of our indifference
and carelessness. He said, by putting you in remembrance,
I want you to always remember something, he said. Something
I want you to remember. I want to stir you up out of
your Whatever carelessness and indifference and not really in
it all the time, I'm saying, look at me, listen to me. Don't
all the time. Blank faces. Listen. It's not a sermon, this is God's
work. That's what Peter said, I want
you to listen to me now. Listen to me. I want to put you in remembrance. I want you to remember something.
It's something I don't want you to forget ever. He keeps saying that. I don't
want you to ever forget this. Look at chapter 3, verse 1. Chapter
3, verse 1 says, this second letter or epistle, beloved, I
write unto you in both, both letters, I want to stir you up
by way of remembrance. I want you to remember. You tend
to forget, don't you? Life goes on and you wake up,
you go to work, come home, go to sleep, wake up, go to work,
come home, go to sleep, wake up, go to work. The mundane,
everyday, day in and day out existence of life. Don't, something
I don't want you to forget. I want you to always be mindful
of it. See what he's saying? I want your mind, Paul said in
Colossians, I want you to Set your affection, your mind on
things, on these things. I want you to forget. Now, he
says in verse 14, knowing that shortly I must put off my tabernacle,
I'm going to die very soon, he said. I'm going to die. Just like the Lord told me I
would die. Remember when the Lord told Peter this? He said,
Peter, it's coming a time when they're going to carry you. When
you were a child, they would carry you where you didn't know.
And there's going to come a time when they're going to carry you
where you don't want to go. They're going to come get you.
And nearly, well, most believe that Peter was crucified. That
they came and apprehended him and nailed or roped him to a
cross like they did his Lord. But he died shortly after this.
However, he died. So these are the, and now listen,
these are not, I said these are dying words. These are not the
dying words of a man who's in a state of delirium, who's on
his deathbeds, and this is medicine-induced, painkiller-induced. This is not
the dying words of a man who's out of his head, who's desperate. These are the careful, deliberate
words of a man who knows he's going to die. In matter of fact, he's going
to die for what he's about to say. You understand? Peter was
killed because of what he's about to tell us here. So these are the careful, deliberate
words of a man who's about to face torture and death. for what
he's about to say, and he says, I don't want you to forget this. You listen very carefully. So have I got everybody's attention
as the word, as the Holy Spirit, I hope. What is it, Peter? What is it, Peter? What is it
that you want to remind us of? What is so important? What is
it? Verse 15, he says, moreover,
I will endeavor that you may be able after my decease to have
these things always in remembrance. After I'm dead, he said, I'm
going to see to it that you don't forget. How? I'm writing this
down. And we still have a copy some
nearly 2,000 years late. God did that. This is God's Word,
not Peter. All right, what is it? What is
it, Peter? What's the last thing you're
going to tell us? What do you want us to remember? What is
it that you would not have us forget, ever? Well, it's a fantastic
story. I mean, it's a fantastic story.
And some might even say it's unbelievable. It's incredible.
It's the greatest story ever told. And it's not a tale that's been
told. It's not hearsay passed down.
It's not an old wives' fable. Look at it. Verse 16, he begins
to tell us, For we have not followed cunningly devised fables What we told you before and what
I'm about to tell you is not a cunningly devised fable. We
didn't make this thing up, Peter said. Peter and Paul and John
and James, Matthew, Bartholomew, Thomas, and all of them, they
didn't get together in collusions, is that the fancy word? And decide,
let's make up a story. Let's be famous. They weren't
famous for what they told. They weren't famous for the gospel.
Every one of them were killed for telling it. They didn't receive
riches and honor for telling it. They were killed for telling
it. They were threatened. Every time they told it, they
were threatened. Don't tell it again, or we'll whip you with
an inch of your life. Peter, one time, standing before those
fellows, said, We've beaten you, and we're going to beat you again
if you tell that. Are we going to listen to you or God? We can't help but tell the things
we've seen and heard, Peter said. Got to. We'll be like David who
said, if we don't, our hearts will be like wine in a bottle
ready to burn us. We've got to. Now Peter's dying. He said, there's one thing I
want you to remember. There's just one thing, and it's one
thing needful. And after I'm dead and gone, would to God you
would remember and never forget this one thing. And this is not
a made-up story. We didn't all get together on
this. We didn't receive a bribe, didn't
receive payment, weren't made famous because of it. We lost
our lives for it. Read on. not cunningly devised fables,
when we made known unto you, when we declared unto you, when
we related to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but
we were eyewitnesses of his majesty." This is more relevant now than
it was when he wrote this. It was nearly 2,000 years ago. This, what happened here that
he's about to tell us, that he, the coming of Christ, happened
nearly 2,000 years ago. Time has gone on. This is the
reason in the last chapter he says, Beloved, I know there's mockers going
to come in the last days. Scoffers going to say, where
is the promise of His coming? Everything's going on like it
always has. You say this Jesus is coming?
You claim that He came from heaven? Well, everything's going right
on. I told you, we talked about how
when the millennium passed, you know, that the world just scoffed.
Ah, look at you. You still think He's coming?
Yeah. Why? He said so. Why do you believe what you believe?
Because there was a real person who walked this planet. That's
what Peter's saying. A real, live person. That's what John said when he
wrote his epistle. We touched him. We handled him. We heard his voice for three
and a half years. We walked with him. We talked
with him. And Peter's going to go on to
say, what all they saw. We didn't make this up, Peter
says. We're not getting rich for it. I'm going to die because
of it. Listen to me now. This is not
a photo. There was a real person that
walked this planet. God came to earth. Not a man
named Jesus, God in human flesh. When we made known unto you the
coming of not the baby Jesus in a manger, but the Lord Jesus
Christ. He said our forerunners long
before us told us, Isaiah, Jeremiah said, he shall suddenly come
to his temple. A baby in a manger. No! The Lord! The One who made the woman in
whose arms He was resting. That child is not the child of
the woman. He's the father of the mother! That's no mere man. That's no
mere mortal thing. When the angels announced it,
they said, He's a, He's a, this is a, this is a holy thing. when we've made known unto you
the coming of our Lord." He came! This is what John said, try the
spirits, see if they're of God then. Try them everyone, every
one of these preachers so-called. Try them, test them, put them
to the test. How do you know if they're of
God? He said, everyone that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in
the flesh is of God. What does that mean? Well, sure
all preachers say, a baby whose name was born, and this and that
and the other. No, somebody that comes, somebody that comes pre-existed
before he got here, you see? Oh, yeah, a child was born, but
the son was given, Isaiah said. Yes, the baby was born, but it
wasn't of that woman. It's of God. And he existed long
before he quite existed. This is none other than the I
Am, the God in whose hands our breath is, in whom we live and
move and have our being, the One who created the planet, created
a body to inhabit. He came. And when you say He
came in the flesh, what you're saying is He was somewhere else
before He came, and when He came, He came for a purpose to do something,
and He got here. I came to the church this morning."
Why? To preach the gospel. When Christ
came to this earth, what did he come to do? To try to save
somebody? You make angels of Nazareth,
call his name Jesus. Why? He shall save whom? Who will let him? All that are
laying open the door, there's no handle on it. No! His people. He came to save his people. He said, Oh, I want the Father
to give it me. Sure! Come to me. I came for my sheep, and I'll
get every one of them. Peter said this is no fable.
He came. Let me compose myself a little
bit. But this glory of this person,
you see, he's going to talk. I haven't even got into the message
yet, folks. The glory and the power and the
majesty of this person deserves to be heard from the rooftops.
That's why he told Isaiah, get up in the high place. That's
why he told Jeremiah, say it from the rooftops, behold your
God. Most of this generation just
sees some man named Jesus. Peter said, we saw God. This is God, the coming of our
Lord. When we made known unto you the
coming of our Lord, read on, we were eyewitnesses of His,
I love this word, majesty. Majesty. His majesty. eyewitnesses of His majesty. He said here in verse 16, the
power and the coming of our Lord. The power. Before we get into majesty, let's
look at this. I've about got ahead of myself
there. power and the coming of our Lord. What about his power? What about
the power of this one who walked the planet? What about his power?
How much power does he have? How much power did he have? According to preachers today,
that Jesus being preached today, doesn't have any power at all
unless men let him have his way. Isn't that right? Doesn't have any power at all.
Well, that's just so. You hear it across the board.
Turn with me to Psalm 115. Psalm 115. And it cannot be said
loud enough or often enough. that this Jesus being preached
today is an idol that men are worshiping. He's not the true
Jesus Christ of Scriptures. He's not. He's a figment of men's
imagination. This one that's standing outside
everybody's heart's door, wanting in. This one who came to make
an attempt to save everybody, but can only save those who decide,
those who exercise. This is absolutely an idol made
up by men. This one whom you've heard preachers
say this many times, he has no hands but your hands, no feet
but your feet. Sounds like an idol to me, doesn't
it? Look at it. Psalm 115. David says in verse 4, their
idols are silver and gold, the works of men's hands. They have
mouths, but they don't speak. They have eyes, but they see
not. You see, these idols that these fellows made up, they couldn't
see or speak or do anything unless these little men carried them
around and said, now do something. Here. Here, little saint so-and-so,
do this. I'll carry you around my pocket.
My little God, they got him with me. Verse 6, they have ears,
but they hear not, noses they have, but they smell not, they
have hands, but they handle not, feet, but they walk not, neither
speak they through their throat, and they that make them Those
that made these idols are just like them. Blind, deaf, dumb,
ignorant. Oh, verse 9. Oh, Israel, trust
thou in the Lord. Let's ask David. Why don't we
ask David who wrote this? David, tell us about your God
then. Here's our God. He wants to save everybody, but
can't unless they let him. That's our God. Our God, he's
in the temple, and he's on our dashboard, and in our homes,
and he's tried, and he's done all
he could do, and now it's up to me. What about your God, David? Oh, I thought you'd never ask. Look at verse 2. Wherefore should the heathen
say, Where is now their God? Verse 3, our God is in the heavens. Well, the heavens can't contain
him. Where is the house he said that you built me? Our God is
going to be Sunday night at six o'clock. The Holy Spirit is going
to be there. He has to. We said he's going to. Oh, the wind blows where it listeth. The Holy Spirit goes where he
purposes. Who art thou? God dwells in the
heaven. He won't dwell in your little
house? Huh? The heavens can't contain Him.
Well, what about your God, David? Tell us, what can He do? What
can He do? It's not what God... Listen,
this stupid saying, what would Jesus do? Oh, God's people have gone around
telling what He hath done. What he hath done, not what would
he do, he hath done. He said, I have spoken it, I
will also do it. It's not what God can do either.
My God can. That sounds real pious, doesn't
it? God can. God can. Where does it say that
in God's Word? Show me. Nowhere. God can. God can. I'll tell you
what it does say. He hath done. Daniel 4.35 says, Our God is
in the heavens. He hath done whatsoever he hath
pleased. Paul or David said it. My God
is in the heavens, reigning, ruling. He hath done what? Whatever he pleased. Daniel 4.35,
He reigns and rules among the armies of heaven and the heavens
and the earth, giving it to whosoever he will. Now, whosoever will,
whosoever he will, and none can stay his hand. None! He has hands, all right. The
whole universe fits in one of them. And none can stay his hand or
say unto him, you can't do that. He does. Whatsoever he does. This one came to earth. Power? We heard him say this himself. We heard him say it time and
again. We heard him say it to us, Peter said, and we heard
him say it to the Father, as thou hast given him power over
all flesh. How much power does Jesus Christ
have? All power. Therefore, any man or woman,
especially a woman who stands up and says he's done all he
can do, and now it's another Jesus. All power is given unto
me in heaven and earth that I should give eternal life to as many
as God has given me. I came to save my own, and I
have all authority and all power to do it, and I do it. And he said in that same prayer,
John 17, I have given them eternal life. None of them is lost. None. Because I have the power. Men and women think they're doing
God a favor and think they're saying something good about God
when they say God loves everybody and wants everybody to be saved. They think they're honoring God.
That's dishonoring to God. Folks, that's dishonoring to
God Almighty. Would it be honoring to a parent? The child is about
to walk out in the street, and they love him so bad, they don't
want anything to happen to him. And they stand on their back
and say, please, honey, don't go. Is that honoring to the parent? And the child gets hit by a car?
Huh? When they first saw it? I tell
you what's honoring to the parent. To lay hold on that child. Put
him in the bosom and say, no one is going to touch you. Say,
I have to die first. I'll lay down my life for you.
You'll never perish if I have anything to say about it. That's just what our God did. He came to this earth and said,
I lay down my life for my sheep. Not one of them are going to
perish. That's honoring to the love of God. That's honoring
to the power of Christ. That's honoring to him. How much
power does he have? All power. All power. He said to his disciples, and
he says to us, you couldn't do one thing without me. Without
me, you can do nothing. And I do all things without you. Without me, you can do nothing. Now, that's our God. And that's
the only God worth having, you know? Isn't it, isn't it? That's
the only God I'll trust. I'm not going to trust a God
who loves me one day and I might end up in hell anyway. What good
does that love do me? I'm not going to trust a blood,
a sacrifice who was shed for Adolf Hitler too, but he's in
hell. Didn't pay for his sins, did he? He's paying for them. I ain't going to trust that blood.
Why should I? Do you see what men and women
are making the God? Do you see what they're really
trusting? Do you see what men and women
are really glorifying? Their decision. The people in glory right now are
glorying, are shouting out the praise of the righteousness and
the blood of the Lamb. Not their faith. Not one of them
at one time ever says in all of the Revelation, I trusted
Him. I believed Him. I'm sure glad I made my decision.
On Him that loved us. Not that we did love thee. Uh-uh. We loved God because He first
loved us. Not that we did choose Him. No,
no, no, no, no. We chose Him because He chose
us. Not our faith. No, no, no. Faith's a gift of
God. Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sin in His
own blood. Power and the coming power and the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ and his majesty. Now, there, majesty, the majesty
of the Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, somebody said those messages
are the best that are the most filled with Christ. That's going
to be the best message you've ever heard. This is nothing but
Christ from start to finish. His majesty. And not me. Peter's just saying. This is
Peter's word. The majesty of the Lord Jesus Christ. His royalty. Does that word just... Do you
just think of some... That's a wonderful word. Majesty. Do you think of someone who has
royalty? Someone who has a regal bearing?
Someone who is just dignified? I can't even put it into words,
my limited vocabulary. Do you remember Psalm 2? My favorite
psalm, Psalm 2. Where God said, I have set my
king upon my holy hill of Zion. Now kiss the son, lest he be
angry. Don't kiss his cheek. You're
not equal to him. Kiss his foot. Kiss his feet. all under his feet, where servants
belong. You don't accept a king, you
bow to him. You don't decide for a king,
you bow to him. You don't let a king do anything,
you bow to him. This is why this generation is
so ignorant, folks. The term and the whole concept
of royalty is gone. There are no more real kings
anymore. There are no real sovereigns
anymore. And this whole generation has
lost sight of what it means to be a king. When he says he's
the king of kings, the Lord is a term of royalty. Lord, Lord of lords. This whole
generation has lost They don't know what that concept is. But you go back several thousand
years and you ask just any servant, anyone in the kingdom, anyone
who's a part of that particular kingdom, ask them, how much power
does a king have? Are you stupid? Where are you
from, man? Where do you live? That's a stupid
question. How much power? He's the king,
isn't he? Kings speak and it's done. Kings
decree and it's done. Kings move, things happen. Kings
raise their right arm, kingdoms fall. Kings do whatever they kings
do. If he's a king, he has all power. He said, God said, I have set
my King on my holy hill of Zion. God didn't say whoever will make
him Lord. God said, I have made him Lord. Now, every knee shall bow and
every tongue confess what? That he is Lord of Lords, King
of Kings, His Majesty. I looked up the word majesty.
It means splendor. It means superbness. It means
magnificence. I need some more words from the
English language. His majesty. Have you ever been
in the presence of a royal person? Have you? I haven't either. I'm from Boyd County, Kentucky. That's like saying Franklin County,
Virginia. Same thing in a minute. Why does Minnie talk like that?
She's from Boyd County, Kentucky. That's why. Henry's from Cornhollar. I've never been in the presence
of a noble person, but I've seen them on TV and places, you know. Oh, and they're buried in their
carriage, the way they And the way everything is conducted around
them is just majesty. The majesty, the dignity of their
person, the dignity of their office, the dignity of the procession. That's what's wrong. Well, I've
got to quit saying what's wrong. I'm going to tell you what's
right. I've spent too much time, I admit,
too much time saying what's wrong, what the gospel is not. and talking
about this other Jesus, and I apologize for it. But that's all we're
hearing these days, and I've had enough to hear with it. Our God has majesty, and his
people don't bring him down to the place of a servant. They make mention that his name
is exalted. Our God's name is too great to
put on the bumper of my car. My God's too great to put his
name on my filthy t-shirt. His name is in the heavens. If I look mad, I am mad. Not
as mad as God Almighty is. He's got a whole hell reserved
for a generation of God demeanors, God blasphemers. The name of
God is on the lips of our children, and we just slough it off and
pass it off, people. God himself said, Thou shalt
not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. That means use
his name in any way, shape, form, or fashion that's not in absolute
glory of honor and majesty. Whatever the highest place you
can accord his name, that's where it belongs. It's not good for
these tongues to use all the time, let alone to be put on
matrimonial walls. Goodness gracious, God have mercy
on this blasphemous generation. We don't put Liz's name on the
Queen Elizabeth. I don't put my President's name
there. I sure don't put my God's name there. The Jews of old were
hesitant to ever say His name unless it was an absolute worship. They knew something. When I think of majesty, too,
I think of someone who carries himself in dignity. Oh, the Lord is majestic personified. You know, men like myself bring
their office and their person. They get out of character. We get out of character. Fathers
get out of character. Husbands get out of character.
Preachers, pastors get out of character. And we lose the respect
and the honor, which we should with nothing but men. Our Lord
never got out of character. Every minute of every waking
day that the disciples beheld him, they beheld his majesty. When he woke up in the morning,
we're going to see him, his majesty. I bet David, well, David did
get out of character, didn't he? Who could we look at in the
scriptures that didn't? Joseph, perhaps. King. He who is king always looks
like a king, walks like a king, talks like a king. His majesty. Oh, he is truly. I think of his
majesty, too, standing before men and standing before this
generation, unimpressed. God's not impressed with anything
about this. Look what we did, look what we
built. Look at all these things that my hand made. This is what,
you see, this is what he made Job and all his friends start
to give an account They all started, you know, talking about this
and that. And God essentially said, shut up. And then he began to tell
his majesty and power what all he'd done. Can you catch a whale
with a hook? Can you speak and move mountains?
Can you? Can you say to the waters, stop? Can you say to the wind, blow.
Can you say to a heart, believe? I do all these things. His majesty,
our Lord stood before kings and priests and he stood before Pilate
and had that old boy quaking. He stood before King Herod and
he had the kingship. The king was That little king,
small K, was standing before the king of kings. I mean, the
prisoner, Brother Henry, the prisoner was standing before
the king, sitting on his throne with all his robes on, you know,
his scepter in his hand, and the king was shaking. Standing there, looking him in
the eye. The king said, Don't you know
I've got power? You could have no authority whatsoever
except it be given you from above. Men and devils. Devils. He stood facing devils. And they
quaked, said, We know who you are. Have you come to torment
us before our time? Unimpressed by any, but impressive
to all. Unbowed before any, but he will
be bowed to by all. Unafraid of any, but I tell you,
the fear of him is the beginning of wisdom. His Majesty, this
is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and nobody made
him so but God. And, Honor, I have to quit. Now, do you know why Paul preached
all night one time? He had an endless subject. Verse 17, he says, He received
from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a
voice to him from the excellent Lord. Honor and glory. Honor. We honor many different
persons all the time, don't we? Just recently in Bedford, they
erected a D-Day memorial, and we came to honor, folks came
to honor the dead. And we acknowledge various ones
for their gifts and talents and works and attainments. And it's
all right. We're told to render honor to
whom honor is due. And we should. That's fine. We
confer honor upon them and tributes and give medals, put medals upon
them, you know, and build monuments to them and memorials and set
aside certain days and name streets after them and all of that. Well, that's fine and all in
its place. All right. Let me tell you something. God Almighty has reserved all
honor and all glory, and decreed it to be so, that all honor and
all glory for all things be reserved for his Son. All honor and glory. Good water, Roy, thank you. In
the last three thousand years or more, a few thousand, God
Almighty has spoken out loud three times. In the last several thousand
years, God Almighty has only spoken out loud three times. You want to know what he said? The first two times when our
Lord Jesus Christ came to the waters of Jordan to be baptized
of John, there was a great voice that came from heaven and said,
ìThis is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.î The next time was some three
years or more later when And our Lord was on the mountain
with three of his disciples. He took three of his disciples
up on the mountain. And he was transfigured, it says. His glory, his essential, his
true person came out. He peeled back this veil of flesh. The Lord Jesus Christ, that man
named Jesus, as it were, took off his mortal clothing until
they saw light. God. They saw God. in his pure
being, and it dropped to their faces like dead men, and a voice
came from heaven. This is my beloved Son, in whom
I dwell pleased. Here is him. It is the all honor and glory
belongs to the Son. And in the last time was when
our Lord was praying, and our Lord said out loud, our Lord
himself, the Lord Jesus said out loud, Father, glorify thy
name. And it sounded like thunder.
It sounded like thunder rolls. Some say it's thunder, but no,
Peter said we heard it. And what it was was God saying,
I have both glorified it and will glorify it again. My name. My son and my name. Honor and glory. All honor and
glory belongs unto the Son of the Most High God, the King of
kings and Lord of lords. And Peter said, We heard this
voice. We saw him. We heard this voice. But now
look at this. This is interesting. I close
with these last two, three verses, OK? Look at it with me. Verses
19, following. Peter said, But we have a more
sure word of prophecy. Peter said, We heard God speak
out loud. We did. And he did. He spoke
out loud. But we have a more sure word.
God wrote it down. Where and who you do well, he
said, to take heed. as unto a light that shineth
in a dark place, until the day dawn, if you'll take heed, and
according to God's purpose, if it's in his purpose and his will,
like he created light on this planet, if God, by his mercy
and grace, makes known unto you his Son, he'll cause the light
of the knowledge of the glory of God to shine in your like a day star arising, like
the sun coming up. I mean, it's going to be life. When God reveals that's king
of kings to you, it'll be life. It'll be knowledge. It'll be
glory. All these preachers. There I go again. Talk about the anointing and
this special thing and this special that. What's more glorious than having,
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4, the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God shed abroad in your heart? It's like passing from death
unto life, from ignorance to knowledge, blindness to be able
to see, death to hear. And this is what happens so much
of the time. People hear this gospel, and
they were in religion before, or not in religion before, or
whatever. And they come and they sit until one day God, in his
purpose, says, Let there be light in that person's heart. It's
up to him, not the preacher. The only light he can turn on
is made by Sylvania. Even then, it doesn't work too
often, does it, Sam? I tried to turn Deborah's—that's the
reason your class didn't have—really had class. I couldn't get the
light on this morning. It wouldn't work. But when God says—you're going
to hear this—let there be light, understanding, knowledge, glory. You're going to see the glory
of a person. And it's not going to talk like a blooming idiot.
It's not going to make you roll on the floor. It's going to make you sit in
the pew, open your Bible, and look and read with understanding,
sing with understanding from the heart, and it's going to
make you speak understandably. And what you will say, what will
come out of your mouth, and it all will understand it, is this,
Jesus Christ is Lord. Salvation is of the Lord, not
of man. It's of God. You will be understood. Far from an un-understandable
gibberish, it will be understandable, and they'll hate you for it. But you'll love God for making
you understand it. Oh, the day start to rise in
your heart. You know this. You know this,
too. See, this is the power of God. This is the Word of God.
The power of God. You know this, Paul, Peter said,
that no scripture came with any private interpretation. That
is a personal interpretation. No man sat down and thought,
I'm going to write me a letter. I'm going to write me a book.
No, no, no, no. Holy men, Peter said, spake as they were moved
by the Holy Spirit. You know David didn't understand
what he was writing half the time, did he? Isaiah, you think Isaiah fully
understood what he was writing in Isaiah 53? He was wounded
for our transgression, bruised for our iniquity, chastised when
our peace was laid upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah thought, who am I talking about? God said, my Christ. Okay, keep writing. By his knowledge shall my servant
justify many. That's Christ's truth. They spoke as they were moved
by God, and this very word that you've heard, when the power
of a preacher is God's way. God's way. And what God does
is forever. That's the reason salvation,
when God saves somebody, they're saved. It's a mute point. You're saved, depending on who
saved you. If you made the choice, then
you can make another choice. But if God made the choice, choices
been made. Right? I like that. I like that. That's all my salvation and all
my hope. Is it yours? King of Kings, His Majesty. Let's
sing, there's only one song to sing in the chair. Number 52,
Majestic Sweetness. Number 52. Number 52, let's stand.
