Revelation chapter 5, and Revelation
chapter 5 is such a continuation of Revelation chapter 4, the
comments about the Lord, and we just sang that song, Be Thou
My Vision, and he truly is a sovereign king, and I was reading through
this this morning as I was out here, and We go through chapter
4 and chapter 5 and just see the Lord so high and lifted up
and so exalted and worthy as the Lamb. That's what they're
singing in heaven and the saints sing it, the church sings it,
the Gospels sing it. And then, lo and behold, in religion
you get to chapter 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, the opening of the seals,
and oh, he's wringing his hands. Well, we're not going to treat
it that way. He's not wringing his hands. He has those events
as much under control as he has our each and every breath. the
opening of these seals. Now, it's interesting to notice
that there was no one in heaven, in earth, or beneath the earth
that could touch this book and open those seals. And we can
say that about the Holy Scriptures, about the Word of God. There
is no one that can show us the Word of God except the Holy Spirit. Now we can explain it, we can
talk about it, we can go over it, we can study it, we can read
it, someone else can share it with us, but it isn't until it's
revealed unto us that it's ours and we see the truth of it. And
this book, I had to go back to Revelation 1.1 again, turn there
with me, read this first verse with me as we think about the
book of Revelation. Revelation chapter one, verse
one, the revelation of Jesus Christ. And that's an opening
up, it's an enlightenment of Jesus Christ. It's sharing with
us through the word and his spirit. what he is and who he is and
what he came to do and he was not making a mistake but he came
and was on time and doing it efficiently and with victory
and is now sitting at the right hand of the father and this is
written for our benefit and I again have to be reminded at the time
that this was written, I don't care if it was 70 AD or 90 AD,
the people of God are still having trouble. There are people that
are being persecuted in this period of time by Roman soldiers,
by Rome, by anybody else that hates the gospel, and this is
a book of encouragement for them. This is a book to encourage them
in their faith, a book to encourage them in their walk, a book to
encourage them in their life, a book to encourage them as they
assemble and hear the gospel preached. This was a book of
encouragement to them, and it wasn't a book to put them down
or to try to get even a profession of faith out of them. It was
just a book to encourage them, and we see that here. Now, keeping
your finger here in the book of Revelation, turn back with
me to another verse, John chapter 6. John chapter 6 and verse 6. Here's another statement about
the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ, and also a statement
about the Word of God. If there's ever any question,
turn to John 6. Now, it tells us here, and this
he said, and he said some things there, and he said them to Philip,
he says them to us. He says them to the world, he
says them to his disciples. He said this, to prove him for
he himself knew what he would do. Now that verse could go at
Genesis chapter one and conclude on Revelation chapter 22. He
knew what he would do. And here in Revelation chapter
4 and 5, he knew what he would do. And chapter 6, when the seals
are opened, he knew what he would do. There's no question. He has
it all under control. It's all under his influence.
Nothing happens that he does not have charge over. In fact,
that's brought out very clearly here in the fifth chapter. So
let's go to the fifth chapter of the book of Revelation, and
we notice here there is a site. This is a grand entrance of the
Lamb of God. the lion of the tribe of Judah,
one who is able to take the humanly impossible and rule and overrule
it. He's going to take a humanly
impossible situation and he explains it that way. The scriptures explain
it that way. I saw then the Lamb And I saw in the right hand of
him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the back
side sealed with seven seals." Now this is a scroll that was
sealed, had seven seals. And if we just think about using
sealing wax, we have a pretty good idea of how this was sealed.
It was sealed and it goes on, and I saw a strong angel proclaiming
with a loud voice, who is worthy to open the book and to loose
the seals thereof? And no man in heaven nor in earth,
neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither
to look thereon." So this is a seemingly impossible situation. In fact, John, faithful writer
of the gospel and faithful preacher of the gospel, was brought to
tears over this issue that this was an impossible book to understand. to have revealed. It tells us
that in the verse 4, and I wept much. Now remember that John
is in the Spirit on the Lord's Day when this was given to him.
Remember he's been a faithful preacher of the gospel. He has
been a faithful minister. He's been an apostle. He has
been used of the Lord mightily and when it came to him in this
vision that there might be an impossible situation here, he
wept over it. And he wept to the point, it
goes on here, I wept much because no man was found worthy to open
and read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the
elders said unto me, weep not. Behold, the lion of the tribe
of Judah, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the book,
and to loose the seals thereof. And I beheld, and lo, in the
midst of the throne, and of the four beasts, in the midst of
the elders, stood a lamb as it had been slain, having seven
eyes, which are the seven spirits of God, set forth into all the
earth. Now before we have a monstrosity,
we want to say this, and we're going to look at this in the
future because we're not going to get down to this point, but
these seven horns We have his perfect power, his omnipotence, perfect power. Seven is the perfect number.
He has seven horns. It's perfect power. Doesn't mean
he has seven growths coming out of his head. It's just a statement
about he's all powerful. He has all power in heaven and
in earth. He is omnipotent. And then he
has seven eyes. This is the perfect wisdom. He's omniscient. He has perfect
understanding of everything. We talk about being 20-20 or
being blind, can't see. Our vision is so limited when
it comes to spiritual things. Thank God, every once in a while,
he puts the glasses in front of us and we can see spiritual
things. It takes His working in us to
see the glory of Christ. It is not natural to see Christ
in the scriptures. It is supernatural. It is above
nature. It is not natural man that understands
the things of God. It's the Spirit of God, and the
Spirit of God reveals the things of God. So here we have this
lamb, he has seven horns, he has perfect power, he's omnipotent
in every way, he has seven eyes, he's perfect wisdom, omniscience,
and there's seven spirits. This is just speaking about he
has perfect omnipresence. He's not fighting to know what's
going on in the Soviet Union tonight or Russia right now.
He's not trying to peek around the corner and see what's happening
in another part of the world. He has perfect sight of all people
and all things all at the same time. He can keep his eye on
two things at the same time, northern and southern hemisphere.
He is able, so he's speaking here so clearly about the grandeur
of this one, the Lamb of God. This one who, if we drew it,
we'd have a monstrosity. Oh my goodness, we got someone
here with seven horns and seven eyes, and he's got seven spirits
around him, and it's just as clear. He's omnipotent, he's
omnipresent, and he's omniscient. perfect in every one of his characteristics,
and perfect in every attribute. This is that lamb that's going
to take that book. Behold, and in verse six, and
I beheld, and lo in the midst of the throne, and in the four
beasts, in the midst of the elders, stood a lamb as it had been slain.
Now he still has the marks of the covenant of grace. When
he ascended, he had the marks of the covenant of grace. When
he was resurrected, and you know, Thomas, he did what we do. The Lord showed him, he had no
more question. You know what the Lord showed him? He was omniscient,
omnipresent, and all powerful. And he said, my Lord and my God. Wouldn't it question later? So
he said here, he has prevailed to open the book and to loose
the seals. He had seven horns and seven eyes and seven spirits
of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the
book out of the right hand of him that sat on the throne. And
when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and 20 elders,
those are four living creatures, four and twenty elders, the church
fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps and golden
vials full of odors, which are the prayers of the saints. And
they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book
and to open the seals thereof, for Thou wast slain and hast
redeemed us to God by Thy blood. out of every kindred, and tongue,
and people, and nation, and has made us unto our God kings and
priests, and we shall reign on the earth." Notice that? They
said, and you have redeemed us. Thou hast redeemed us, speaking
to the Lamb in this song. And I beheld and I heard the
voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures,
the beasts and the elders, and the number of them was 10,000
times 10,000 and thousands of thousands. Now write that out. That is innumerable host. You can't put your finger on
the number. And what are they doing? Worshipping the Lamb,
bowing before the Lamb, honoring the Lamb, and saying with a loud
voice, worthy is the Lamb that was slain. to receive power,
and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in
heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as
are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying,
blessing, and honor, and glory, and power be unto him that sitteth
upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever. And the
four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders
fell down and worshipped him that liveth forever and ever."
Now, what a scene. My goodness. I just wrote down
here, this is just almost like a one-act play for our benefit.
Whoa, come on, and in 14 verses present to us one of the greatest
demonstrations and sight about the Lord of glory that we find
in a compact place throughout all the scriptures. Now Isaiah
does it too. Holy, holy, holy. That's a compact
statement about the Lord of glory. chapter 4 compact statement about
the Lord of Glory how honorable and gracious and merciful and
he's a Redeemer it says thou hast redeemed us and you have
redeemed us out of every kindred nation people and tongue we didn't
do it on our own we couldn't pay the price but you've redeemed
us and then they continue to honor and sing glory unto him
a new song and then You know what the Lord does? And I'm not
going to go ahead, but I'm just going to read a few verses here
in chapter 6. And I saw verse 1, when the Lamb opened one of
the seals. Verse 3, and when He had opened
the second seal. Verse 5, He opened the third
seal. My goodness, He's on a roll,
isn't He? He's not stopping with one. One isn't difficult. In
fact, he opens up every seal that sealed this book and no
man in heaven or in earth or under the earth could touch him.
The power of this one, the Lord Jesus Christ, to reveal the things
of God and the deep things of God. No man is able to do this,
but he is. And then it tells us in that
same chapter, chapter six, verse seven, and when he'd opened the
fourth seal. And nine, when he opened the
fifth seal. And 12, when he had opened the
sixth seal. And then in chapter eight, in
verse one, and when he'd opened the seventh seal. We go through
all of this, and this seventh seal continues, it looks like
up through chapter 11. Chapter 11, so verses, chapter
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 are the consequences, or the blessings,
I should say, of opening this book. The blessings of opening
this book. Now we're introduced to four
horsemen, and I just can't help but believe every one of them
represents an aspect of my Savior. I had a person point out the
other day in his Bible, he'd been reading the Bible and he
found a verse. And he says, you know, I didn't see that. The
Lord said, I came not to bring peace, but a sword. And we just
read one of those horsemen here does the same thing. He brought
war. You talk about some of these families here in the book of
Revelation, that when they heard the gospel and God saved him
by his grace, their troubles at home just began. There was war going on. And like
so many religions, when Christ, and Christ touches people and
gives to them a peace that passes all understanding in regeneration,
when Christ did that and people knew that, they were kicked out
of the family and disinherited. Talk about war. There, war started. when Christ saved him by his
grace. War started. So we're just gonna
see that, and he's just a victor. He's a victor. Well, let's go
back here now to the fifth chapter, and let's look at this just a
little bit. A grand entrance of the Lamb of God, the Lion
of the tribe of Judah. Now, it's interesting to me that
he's represented as the Lion of the tribe of Judah and also
the Lamb of God. And you know what it tells us
over in the book of Isaiah? The lion will lay down with the
lamb. Now there's some things in there that people have just
pooh-poohed about. You know what that's talking
about? God will settle his people to sit at his feet. We're not looking for that in
some millennium reign. We're looking for that to happen
in our hearts. We'll be sitting. at the feet
of Jesus. Now he's the Lamb of God and
he's the Lion of the tribe of Judah at the same time and one
of them is peaceful and meek and one of them goes about doing
havoc. And he does that in the preaching
of the gospel. He raises havoc. He raises havoc
in our soul, and we just are pinched by the gospel because
we're set in our ways and religion, and he comes along and stirs
the pot in the opposite direction we wanted him to go. He raises
havoc. The line of the tribe of Judah
raises havoc. And he does that for his glory,
his honor, and his praise. And he does that in our families.
He saves someone and raises havoc in the family. And people say,
that guy, he's just crazy. I've told you this. And now you
probably believe it. But when the Lord saved me, I
had a bunch of people say, he's had a nervous breakdown. And
my comment, I didn't get it out of the mouth. I did bite my tongue.
A whole bunch of you need a mental breakdown just like I had. He raised havoc. Preachers saved
and kicked out of their churches. He raises havoc. And that's what
he is. He's the lion of the tribe of
Judah, but he can do what no one else can do. That's the glorious
thing about this Lord. Turn with me back, and I mentioned
to Mike today, going through the book of Genesis, I found
a lot of verses that just fit into the messages I want to bring.
And would you turn over here, Genesis 18. We're moving through
the book of Genesis, won't be long, we'll be starting the book
of Leviticus, or Exodus, excuse me. But Genesis 18, verse 14,
these are words that were spoken to Abraham. Genesis 18 verse
14, way, way, way, way back there. We have the same Lord speaking
to Abraham in the beginning here as we find speaking in the book
of Revelation chapter 5. The lion, the lamb that prevails. It says here, is anything too
hard for the Lord? Is anything too hard for the
Lord? At the appointed time, I will
return unto thee according to the time of life, and Sarah shall
have a son." Now, this has to do with that promised son, who
turned out to be Isaac. But the statement that is made
covers creation, covers the flood, covers the Tower of Babel, covers
all instances and incidents between here and the beginning, and every
incident from here to the end. Is anything too hard for the
Lord? That's the question, yes. And
God's people say, why, no. And then, oh, I like what we
heard the other day in that lesson. We ask the Lord, we bring up
an issue to the Lord, and we give him the solution. Lord,
we have this problem, and here's the solution. Our solutions are
out the window. because His ways are above our
ways as far as heaven is above the earth, and His solutions
are that way too. We can't figure out, but He has
it in control. Turn with me, if you would, to
the book of Mark, chapter 10. grand entrance of the Lamb of
God the line of the tribe of Judah one who is able to take
the humanly impossible and rule over it and overrule over and
make it possible because is anything too hard for the Lord now this
is brought up in the book of Mark there was some disciples
that were absolutely stunned you ever been stunned by the
Word of the Lord I mean just dumbfounded you're so No wonder there's gonna be silence
in heaven for the space of 30 minutes in that next chapter. I mean, dumbfounded. Stopped
in our tracks, dumbfounded. We checked the ink to see if
that verse hasn't been inserted. And here it is. The saints, the
apostles, were dumbfounded by a word of the Lord, and it says
here, Verse 26, well, let's back up here to verse 23. And Jesus
looked round about and said unto his disciples, how hardly shall
they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God. Now, if we
follow this out, he's not talking about dollars. He's talking about our own riches,
our own spiritual health that we've produced. My wife told me the other day
I was making some decisions about my health, and she said, you
know, it's only a fool who will diagnose himself and decide which pills you should
take. Well, they that are whole need not a physician, but they
that are sick. And those who have their own
riches, are in sad shape because this, notice what the Lord said,
and the disciples are dumbfounded and they just say this. The disciples
were astonished at his words, but Jesus answered again and
said unto them, children, how hard it is for them that trust
in riches to enter into the kingdom of God. It's easier for a camel
to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter
into the kingdom of God. Now, I have a book that tells
me what the eye of the needle was in the walls of Jerusalem. And it makes it, if you work
at it enough, if the camel is unloaded, And down on its knee,
it makes it so that it's possible. But that's not what he's saying.
This is not a place in the wall of Jerusalem. This is a darning
needle. This is a sewing needle with
about a triple-aught eye in it. The kind you need a magnifying
glass to thread. Now you could get it bigger if
you want to, but it's just as impossible to get that camel
through that eye. This is an impossible situation. He's explaining
an impossible situation. It is impossible. He's making
a statement and those disciples are not sitting around, you know,
there is a place over there in the walls of Jerusalem. We could
call the eye of a needle. He's talking about an impossible
situation. it's impossible to get a camel. And I don't care if it's a newborn
camel or an old camel, it's impossible to get a camel through the eye
of a needle. He says it's impossible. And the disciples said, and they
were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, who
then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith,
with men it is impossible. Now that's as clear a statement
as you'll find in scripture about how men are able to save themselves.
With men, it is impossible. With preachers, it's impossible. With deacons, it's impossible.
With Sunday school teachers, it's impossible. With apostles,
it's impossible. With... It's impossible. And yet he goes on to say, with
men it is impossible, but not with God, for with God all things
are possible. Now that's the part we want to
fit into. With God, all things are possible. I want to stand there. I want
to be there. I want to be where things that
are impossible are possible. And that's what we find over
here in the book of Revelation chapter 5, an impossible situation. An angel spoke with a loud voice
that rang through heaven and earth and under the earth. Loud
voice, so loud, so clear, so distinct that it was heard in
heaven and on earth. and under the earth at the same
time, and there was no volunteers. Because all men said, that's
impossible. I cannot open that book. And
you know when a person says, I cannot open that book, they're
saying, wisdom. I cannot open that book. Best
thing you can say about this book is, I can't understand that
book. because it's not physically discerned. We have books written that you
can look at the numberology of the Bible and you can come up
to a conclusion about what it means. The guy that wrote the
book probably had no more sense about what it was than anybody
else. It's spiritually discerned. And if God would give us one
ounce, one tenth of an ounce of spiritual understanding, We
broke through. If we could just see that this
is the revelation of Jesus Christ, we've been given more than we
ever thought possible. If we could ever see that this
is a book that is given by Almighty God and it's his word and it's
trusted with our very being, we broke through. God's brought
us through. God's brought us through. It is a one-act play
for our benefit. We are presented a great problem,
and then the problem is removed by the lamb. We're put in a position
of great concern, just like John was. My goodness, what's going
to happen here? And the tears running down his
cheeks over this issue. He's facing the same issue that
we face every day. This isn't going to work. We're not going to be able to
get this. I'm not going to be able to understand
this. I'm not going to be able to see
this. And by God's grace, he opens our understanding, and
that's what it's about. He opens our heart, that's what
it's about. He opens our spirit, and that's
what it's about. And we'll go around talking about
God doing something instead of what we've done. We'll go around
talking about a miracle of grace instead of all the works that
I've done. We'll talk about a God that is
able to perform a work of grace in our heart, and we'll quit
talking about what we've done for God. And that's a miracle
of grace, because natural man is so prone to talking about
what he's done. Now, this is just delightful. As we notice here, he melts away
in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ all the fear and problem
that John was having. We see in all these our issues
with regard to life in the scripture, Christ is the person of all our
hope. There is no other. He makes that clear. He will
never reveal anything else but that Christ is all our hope.
Now, look with me if you would. We've looked at this several
times recently, but I'd like to look at it again in Luke chapter
24. Luke chapter 24. He's the answer
to the books of Moses. He says that. He's the answer
to the books of the prophets. And he's the answer to the book
of the Psalms. Notice with me here in Luke chapter
24 and verse 44, the scriptures say this, and he said unto them,
now this is after his resurrection, he has had several disciples
and they're just like us. Several disciples that have had
some misgivings, just like us. Some misunderstandings. just
like us, have come to some wrong conclusions, just like us, and
he's going to help us. Man, don't you like someone to
help you figure out the math equation? The teacher come along
and put it on the board and you say, whoa, why didn't I see that? And that's what he does. He comes
along and makes the answer. What's he say here? He said unto
them, These are the words which I spake unto you. Now, for three
and a half years, he spoke in words unto the disciples. He
told them, and I knew one time, but I can't remember right now,
how many times he told them that they were going to go to Jerusalem,
and he was going to be betrayed and turned over to the authorities
and crucified. He told his disciples, and they
went around, what is he saying? What is he talking about? What
is he saying? What is he talking about? And
when it happened, they says, what happened? My goodness, we
didn't expect this. And now he is saying, these are
the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you,
that all things must be fulfilled. Not one word can go unfulfilled. And that was the great blessing
about the Lord Jesus. That's why he's so far superior
to any of the prophets. far superior to any of the priests,
far superior to any of the kings. He is far superior to all, even
those that were appointed by the Lord Jesus Christ. He was
far superior to any priest because he has a priesthood that fades
not away and is not ended. And he is far greater than even
David, who was the king. David died, but the Lord's kingship
has not ceased. And he was greater than any priest
and prophet and king. And here he says, all things
must be fulfilled. And then he shares with us and
with his disciples, and I believe when he spoke this, the lake
was made calm. That's what he said. That's what
he meant when he spoke to us back there in Bethany. That's
what he meant when he spoke over there in Jerusalem. That's what he meant when he
was over there in Jericho. That's what he meant. Things
were just understood because we don't find them having this
problem ever again. What does he say? Which were written in the law
of Moses, and in the prophets and in the Psalms. Now he doesn't
stop there concerning me. Moses spoke of me. The prophets spoke of me. The
Psalms spoke of me. I was reading Dr. Hawker and
he says the best interpretation for Revelation chapter 5 is Psalm
2. The kings of the earth raised
up to derision. Oh, it bothered him a bit. He
is the answer. He is the prophet, priest, and
king. So the question was asked, And he shows the answer. No one
is found. What a statement. No one is found. Not one prophet, not one priest,
not one preacher, not one pope. And I'm, you know, the word pope
doesn't mean just the guy over there in Rome. Someone who sets
himself up in authority is also a pope. No pope. No one in heaven
or the earth or under the earth. but it was the Lord Jesus Christ,
the Lamb of God, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Now there
are several verses that we'd like to look at here as we enter
this fifth chapter. Turn with me if you would to
the book of John chapter one. John chapter one, it's such a
good verse. This is just, our Lord usually
appears when all other hope disappears. One man said, Christ is good
at the deadlift. He's good at the deadlift. We're
just dead. He's good at the deadlift. He's
the only one can lift us. All right. Notice here in John
chapter 1, verse 18, no man has seen God at any time. The only
begotten son. which is in the bosom of the
Father, he hath declared him." Now if you, if I ever want to
see God, we must go through Christ. will not see him any other way.
And it is him that declares him. It is Christ that declares the
nature of God. It is Christ that declares the
holiness of God. It is Christ that declares the
peace of God. It is Christ that declares every
characteristic and attribute of God. He declares him. He is his mouthpiece. He is his
spokesman. He is his logo, if you please. All right, we have certain logos. I was noticing one of the, oh,
that championship college football game. It was Gators, and every
one of them had a little swish right here. Everybody knows what that is.
It's a logo. They had a, piece on their arm
that's red stripes and white stripes and a blue field and
a white stars. Everybody knew what that was.
We just look around us and there's things we recognize companies
by that little swoosher. A bright shaped C. We know that's a soft drink.
We just know it. Christ is the logo of God. He is the swoosh of God. He is the right sea of God. He is the interpretation. He is the revelation. He is the
one that defines and declares God. That's what he's going to
do over here in the book of Revelation. He's going to walk up to the
one that's on the throne and take that scroll out of his hand
and with all power and authority lift every seal. And the word had just gone through
heaven and earth. Who can open this? And no one
volunteered but the Lamb of God. Turn with me if you would to
the book of Matthew chapter 11. Matthew chapter 11. What a great
God is declared here in the Word of God. He's so successful, he
has never had any interest in failure. It wasn't in his nature. He's
never been caught off guard. He's never had to twiddle his
thumbs. He's never had to second guess.
He's never had to wonder the outcome. Oh man, I watch that
game and wonder what's the outcome? What's the outcome? And sometimes
I just almost had to turn it off because I was so nervous
about it. You know, you ever get that way?
Issues come up, you're just so nervous about it, you want to
turn it off. Turn life off. Well, he's never caught that
way. He's never caught in a nervous
situation. He doesn't have ulcers. He doesn't
have indigestion. He has, from the beginning, decreed
what will take place. And he's just following it through.
And he gave us time, days and hours and weeks and months and
years for our benefit, but in his view, it's in an instant. Now notice here, Matthew chapter
11. Matthew chapter 11 and verse 27. We read these words about
the Lord Jesus Christ and the relationship that he has with
the Father and what his ministry is. Matthew 11 verse 27, all
things are delivered unto me of my father, and no man knoweth
the son but the father, and neither knoweth any man the father save
the son. Now, here's the glorious part. No man, no man. Neither knoweth any man the father
save the son, And he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. You'll
never know the Father, except in the revelation of Jesus Christ. That's his statement. Nobody
will know God. And Luke 10, Luke 10, 22. Luke 10, 22. The Lion of the tribe of Judah,
the Lamb of God, will prevail, has prevailed. The revelation
has gone out. The gospel is being preached.
Luke chapter 10, verse 22, the scriptures share this. Luke 10, 22, it says, all things
are delivered to me of my father, and no man knoweth who the son
is but the father, and who the father is but the son. And he
to whom the sun will reveal him. Nobody knows. Jesus Christ came
in the midst of religious people and they had no idea in this
world who he was. And he came unto a motley crew. He called out a motley crew of
twelve. And there were times he revealed
himself and there were times his purpose was hidden to them
until the end. And at his resurrection, he revealed
his whole purpose and they never turned back. He never once intended
to set up an earthly kingdom. They realized that. He set up
a spiritual kingdom. He set up salvation by grace.
He declared it from beginning to end. And so it is over here. He's going to declare himself
in these revelations. We go to the first seal, second
seal, third seal, down through the seventh seal. We're going
to see him revealing himself. and to the people and to us.
Before we get there, we find that he's opened these seals
and the praise that goes on. My goodness, they just, they
just, they can't contain themselves. It's like when Christ reveals
himself to you. You just can't contain yourself.
You're overwhelmed. I've never seen what I see. I've
never heard what I've heard. I've never felt what I felt.
I've never, ever seen the Word of God like it is. From cover
to cover, it's the message of grace. Oh, it's got some history,
but it's the message of grace. Oh, it's got some prophecy in
it, but it's the message of grace. It's the message of the Lord
Jesus Christ. Christ is good at deadlift. He went up, we're
going to hear that, went up to that tomb and he deadlifted that
man. He brought him off of that slab. Oh, Lazarus, he's good
at deadlift. He's good at taking the impossible. He's good at taking what's absolutely
impossible. He said it's impossible, but
with God, nothing shall be impossible. And as he spoke to Abraham, is
there anything too hard for God? We have to have those verses
to go along with the capital G-O-D. If it ever struck us,
and it will in eternity, but if it ever struck us what God
stands for, we wouldn't have to have, is anything too hard
for God. God just means absolute, sovereign,
supreme, ruler over all things. But we've kind of brought him
down from that level, so we have to have those words. Thank you,
Lord. Is anything too hard for God? No. What is he? He's the Lord? Yes,
he is. He's the Lord God Almighty. We have to have those. All right,
we're gonna stop there tonight, and we'll pick up here verse
six. Five and six, oh my goodness. The lion of the tribe of David
hath prevailed. And then we want to look at those
seven horns and seven eyes and seven spirits. Those three wonderful
characteristics and attributes of the Lord. Seven horns is perfect
power, seven eyes is perfect wisdom, and seven spirits is
perfect sight.
