When you get there, you're always
there. When you go to eternity, you're
always there. You have no sense of anything
else but eternity. Time ceases to be, and as far
as you're concerned, once you get there, that's all it ever
was and all it'll ever be, is eternity. That would be a wonderful place
to be, wouldn't it? Lay this old body down with
its heartaches and its fears and its trials, its burdens. Decisions it won't have to make
anymore. No more tears to ever shed. No more
weary, no more sleepless nights. No more sickness of body. Oh,
who wouldn't want to go there? Who wouldn't want to be there?
I want you to look with me here in verse 32. This is where I
want to get my subject this evening. And Lord willing, I'll start,
I think, I believe I'm going to start in Hebrews next week.
They'll call back. Verse 32, he that spared not
his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not
with him also freely give us all things? Now the thing about
this particular verse, and of course all of these is what God
done. It always starts with he, he,
he. And it was God that didn't spare
his own son. And it's God that justifies us.
It's God that foreknew us. It's God that did predestination.
It's God that called us. God that justified us. God that
glorified us. And if God's for us, who in this
world, in this universe, anywhere, anytime, could ever, ever be
against us? And then he says there in verse
34, he said there's two people here, he and us. he and us he
and us he that spared not his own son but delivered him up for us all
how shall he not with him freely give us all things to people
he and us and if God spared not his own son he'll give us freely all things
with him And all things includes all things. All things. Everything. In that same word,
that same thing He says, for we know that all things work
together. So He freely gives us all things
through His blessed Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. And He spared
not His Son. He did not spare Him nothing
in this world. Didn't spare Him a temptation.
Didn't spare Him a suffering. Didn't spare Him a tear. Didn't
spare him a pain. Didn't spare him anything in
this world. Didn't spare him from men. Didn't
spare him from sin. Didn't spare him from wrath.
Didn't spare him from the ridicule. Never spared him from anything
that could have befell him while he was in this world. God spared
him not. Never once did he ever, when
he could have, done something for him. And even when I, Lord,
sweat, as it were, great drops of blood and says, Father, if
there is any other way, if there was another way other than me,
me fulfilling your will, finishing the work you gave me to do, if
there's any other way, But nevertheless, just go ahead
and give me the cup. I'll drink it. I'll drink it.
But He didn't spare him that he might with Him freely give
us all things. And I tell you, the Lord Jesus
Christ and what God gave us is a free gift that He gave us.
He gave us freely of His blessed Son. It's free. He gave His Son
and being justified freely by His grace. And I tell you, look,
you keep Romans there, and look with me over in 1 Corinthians
2, just a minute. 1 Corinthians 2 and verse 12.
And He gave His Son, and with His Son, He gives us all things
with Him. All spiritual blessings in heavenly
places are given us in Christ Jesus. Everything God has for
me, you, or anybody is through Him, by Him, and because of Him.
And He freely give us all things through Him. Look what He said
here in verse 12 of 1 Corinthians 2. Now we have not received the
Spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God. Now listen
to this, that we might know the things that are freely given
to us of God. If we have anything from God,
It's given to us freely and it's given to us through our Lord
Jesus Christ, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and because of our Lord
Jesus Christ. And there he says, you know,
he spared not his own son, but delivered him up and freely gives
us all things. The gospel absolutely knows nothing
about man deserving anything. The gospel knows nothing about
goodness in man that God has to reward him for his goodness. The gospel knows nothing about
God blessing a man because he owes a blessing to that man.
There's never been a time in our life and never will be a
time in our lives where we will actually have to God owe us a
blessing. If He ever owes us a blessing,
it'll cease to be of grace, it'll cease to be free, and then it'll
be a debt. And God will not be in debt to
this miserable, wretched human race. And I certainly know He's
not in debt to me. Everything I've got, He gave
to me, and everything you've got, He gave to you. And I know
that there's no one under any circumstances that's ever lived
on this earth that deserved any good thing from God. And the
reason we get anything from God is because it's freely given
to us because He and His Son freely gave us all things through
His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. That's why He says freely give
us all things. With who? With Him. With Him. There's never any cause in us,
never any cause in us to move God on our behalf. And our salvation,
our deliverance from start to finish is of God's blessed grace. What have we got that we didn't
receive? And if we received it, why would
we act as if we didn't? And God made Christ unto us wisdom,
righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. And you know
why He did that? The next verse tells us that
no flesh should glory in His presence. If you got the wisdom
of God, where did you get it? If you got the righteousness
of God, where did you get it? If you got sanctification, where
did you get it? If you have redemption, the redemption
of this body, the redemption of your sins, where did you get
it? God made Christ those things unto us and the reason being
so we ain't got nothing we can say that we did that made God
to do anything for us. And oh, bless His name. He's
the author and finisher. He starts it. He finishes it,
and what He starts, He'll finish. Just as sure as He's on His throne.
And not only is it freely given to us, and He gives us freely
all things, but look what it says there in that verse. Freely
gives us all. Two times it says us all. It's
for us all. Not absolutely for all, but for
us all. What do you reckon He's talking
about? He's talking about us all. Those that were predestinated,
those that were called, those that were justified, those that
were glorified, those that were loved of God, those that were
saved on God's purpose. That's who He is. After He by
Himself purged our sins, not the sins of the world. And he
said in 2 Peter, we dealt with the last week. He says, you know,
God is long-suffering to us. We're not willing that any of
us, long-suffering to us, we're not willing that any should perish,
but all should come to repentance. And just as sure as God's on
his throne, that last soul, that last sheep, that last one for
whom Christ died is going to be saved. They're going to hear
the gospel and they're going to be converted and they're going
to be a believer. And I don't know how long it'll
take, but I do know this, when that happens, this thing is gone
over and done with. Huh? But who is us all? I'll tell you who us all is.
Look over in verse 1 of Romans 8. It's those who have no condemnation. That's who it is. Us all. That's who He freely gives us.
Those who have no condemnation in Christ. And again it says
those who walk not after the flesh, they don't have any confidence
in the flesh. They ain't going to be tried
or saved by the flesh. They have nothing to offer. Their
flesh is nothing but a burden to them. Those who have the Spirit
of Christ, look down in verse 9. But you're not in the flesh,
but in the Spirit. If so, be the Spirit of God dwell
in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit
of Christ, he's none of His. That's all us who He gave us
all for and freely gives us us all. Those which by the Spirit
of Christ, by Abba Father. Those beloved whom He was chosen,
Christ before the foundation of the world. Those that He delivered
out of this present evil world. Those that were as many as ordained
to eternal life believe. That's us all He's talking about. He's just talking about folks
who... He just gives us a demonstration. You know, He tells us who they
are. It's those in us all that all things work together for
good. Us all. It was foreknown. Us all predestinated. Us all justified. Us all there's
no condemnation. People who's not walking after
the flesh. People who ain't got nothing
to offer God. And they come as empty handed
as they was the day they first come. Maybe less. Now, maybe
less, and then I'll tell you what else he does. He gives it
for us all, and he also, he says he gives us all things. He said,
and he that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for
us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? He gives us all things. Now what
do you reckon we need? What all things, you know? You
reckon he's talking about. All the good things that happen
to you? I know one thing, He gives us
everything that's necessary. Everything that's necessary for
us in this life. Everything's necessary for our
spiritual life. He gives us a new heart. He gives
us a new spirit. He gives us a new mind. He makes
us new creatures. Puts a new desire in us. He gives
us everything needful for our spiritual life. And I tell you
what else He gives us. Everything necessary for our
earthly life. Everything necessary for our
earthly life. And there's a lot of things that
we say, well it don't seem necessary. If He says it's necessary, it's
necessary. And everything that's good. Ain't
that what he says back up there in verse 28? We know that all
things work together for GOOD! GOOD! Everything works together. And
I'll put that in capital letters. GOOD! But not for everybody. To them
that love God, that's us all. And not only that, but them that
God called according to His purpose. That's why his disciples, he
asked his disciples, says, Lord, they asked him, says, can we be baptized
with the baptism you'll be baptized with? And will we be able to
suffer what you suffered? He says, oh, you don't know what
you're asking. But he said, indeed you will
be baptized with my baptism. You will go where I go. And that's
what he meant, the baptism of my suffering, the baptism of
my heartache, the baptism of my temptation, the baptism of
being hated and despised. You're gonna go through that.
You can't be united to me and not have that. There's always
gonna be suffering before there'll ever be glory. Our Lord Jesus
Christ says it was written that he must suffer before he entered
into his glory. And that's why Paul said, I reckon
that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared
with the glory that shall be revealed in us. And oh, I tell you, you think,
boy, this ain't good. When you're hurting, it ain't
good. It is good. God wouldn't give it to us if
it wasn't good. We soften times like kids. We
get on our children all the time, but we better stay out of that,
stay out of that, stay out of that. And they won't stay out
of it. And you get on to them. But you
know what, you give them something good for them, like some medicine,
and you got to hold them down to pour it down on them. And
they scream and cry and kick like crazy. And that's the way
we are. We didn't get into things and meddle into things that we're
not supposed to. And then when God gives us our medicine, we
scream and cry, Oh Lord, what are you doing to me? Oh my. And in spiritual things, I tell
you what, we don't even know what to ask for. Look what it
said in verse 26. Likewise, the Spirit helps our
impermanence, for we don't know what we should pray for as we
ought. But the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered. Now in spiritual things we do.
Some things we know what to ask for. We know to ask for pardon.
We know to ask for peace. We know to ask for life and forgiveness. We ask for grace. Oh, grace,
grace, grace. Give me grace, grace, grace.
Strength. Oh, God's strength. We need strength. And oh, please, Lord, I need
love. Give me love. Fill my heart full
of love. Make me a kind. Make me kind.
Give me an understanding of other people. Give me an understanding
of what goes on in other people's lives. Give me an understanding
of how to deal with people and how to deal with things in this
world. Please give me an understanding. We know how to do that. But all in temporal things, in
temporal things, we absolutely get lost in what we should ask
for and what we should do. We ask for life, or we ask for
death, we ask for self, or we ask for strength. We say, Lord,
it's your will be done. What do we pray for? Please heal
them. Please give them rest. What do
we pray for in temple things? We have to be careful. When we
ask for simple things and things in this world that we have to
deal with, we have to be very careful and we have to pray and
know by God's grace to be submissive to His holy will. Oh Lord, to be submissive to
His will. That's what our Lord said. He
says, say, Our Father which art in heaven, thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth on earth in my life in my home with
my children your will be done on earth just like you do it
up yonder in glory and angels say amen and by God's
grace we can say amen and by God's grace we can get out and
say yes Lord But oh my, but in temple things, we often don't
know how to pray. Because we don't know. We're scared sometimes, you know,
if we ask for this, it'll turn out the other way and we don't
want to be selfish. But oh, He said, oh, He gives
us all things. All things are yours. That's
what the Apostle says. Life or death. Paul, Apollos,
Cephas, they're all yours. Everything God has in this world,
life and death, and all the preachers, and all the apostles, and the
scriptures, and everything that comes on in our life, he said,
all things are yours. I give it for you. It belongs
to you. I gave it for you. It's yours. And he said, and
then you know what? He said, this is what happens. Everything that's given is yours.
So wonderful is you belong to Christ. And the next thing he
says, Christ belongs, Christ is God's. So would our Father
give us our things without them being just right? Because they
come from Christ and for our Father. And oh, God gives them to us
as they are. And that's their best for us.
And I know this, I know for myself. If we had left to our own choice,
We would ruin ourselves. I know if I slept, we would ruin
ourselves. We would destroy ourselves. Oh my! God gives us freely all
things. And He sends things sometimes
to correct us. He sends things to check our
pride. He sends things to strengthen our faith. He sends things to
wean us off of this world. And everything He does for us,
He teaches us this one great blessed lesson. Our utter and
absolute dependency upon Him. And whatever it takes to keep
me cleaving and believing, that's all right. That's all right for
me. And here He's promised to give
us all things with Him. And yet He don't give us all
things at one simple single time. We have days to live. We have
hours to live. We have years to live. So the
things that He gives to us, He gives to us as the days be. As the hours call for it. As
the years call for it. As what we go through calls for
it. That's what He gives us when it's necessary for us to have it. And I'll tell you what, we
talked about this the other night. Ain't you thankful? Ain't you
thankful that you do not know what tomorrow is going to bring? We worry enough about tomorrow.
about what we're going to do and where we're going to go and
how hard work's going to be and all these things where I have
to be and things like that. But oh, ain't you grateful that
God don't let you know what He has in store for you tomorrow
or the next day or something, you know? Ain't you grateful
that's the way it is? I certainly am. If you found out something was
going to happen to you two years from now, you know what you'd
do? You'd absolutely go crazy. If you knew you was going to
win the lottery two years from now. You know what you'd do?
You'd go spend it all before you ever got it. Wouldn't you? Then if you knew that you only
had two years and said the Lord said I'm going to give you two
years. That's all I'm going to give you. Then you spend that
two years. living and resting and trusting
Christ and by His grace you would live and you would set your house
in order. You'd say goodbye to everybody.
You'd do all the things. And that's why we ought to live. He freely gives us everything.
He gives it to us right when we need it. I'm going to have
just exactly what I need day after tomorrow, wherever I'm
at and whatever I'm going through. You'll have exactly what you
need tomorrow afternoon. Six months from now, you'll have
exactly what's necessary for you, wherever you're at and whatever
you're going through. Want it? You know why? Because He spared not His own
Son and with Him freely gives us all things. Oh, my. Though He's promised to give
us all these things, sometimes it causes us to cry more to Him,
to make whatever He does for us more welcome and more grateful
for it. And I tell you what, sometimes
we ask for one thing and He gives us something else. We ask for
Him to save us, and instead of doing that, you know what He
does? He just gives us strength. Paul said, Lord, three times
he said, This messenger that got this thorn in the flesh.
Three times he prayed. And the Lord Jesus appeared to
him. I don't know how many times that goes through the scriptures,
but actually appeared to him. I know twice. Appeared to him. Three times. One on a ship. He appeared to Paul. And so he
had been caught up to the third heaven. And after he said he'd
been caught up to the third heaven, he got down nine verses later
and he said, Lord, I've got this awful, awful thorn. in my flesh. Take it away. Please take it
away. And you know what he said? I
ain't going to do it. I'm not going to do that. You need that
thorn. You need it. You got to have
it. It's what I see is necessary for you. But he said, I'll tell
you what I will do for you. I'll give you enough grace. I'll
give you enough grace. I'll give you sufficient grace.
And then when you get really, really, really, really, really,
really weak, which you always are, he said, my strength will
be made perfect in your weakness. Oh, my. David said, oh, Lord,
deliver me, deliver me. You know what God come back and
said to him? He said, I'll be your strength. He said, I'm not
going to save you, I'm not going to deliver you, but I'll be your
strength. That's what he told him. And oh, let God help us
to learn and to see and acknowledge his hand in all that we have
and all we meet with in this world. Jacob said, Israel said,
Jacob said, Lord, I'm not worthy of the least of thy tender mercies.
But I tell you, He cares so much for us that He numbers the hairs
of our head. And oh, for God to give us eyes
to see the wisdom of goodness and goodness of God in the things
we enjoy. Oh my, if you have an enjoyable
day, and a pleasurable day, and a happy day, and a glorious day,
and you have a day that you just high enough, you know, higher
than a Georgia pine, thank God for it. That's a pleasure. Oh,
thank God for that. And then you know, and if he
sends a trial, thank God for that. Oh my. Cause nothing's by chance, nothing's
without being needed. Nothing will he ever send our
way without giving us support. And know what it does, it cause
our souls to stand still and rest in the Lord. Be still and
know that I am God. Look in Proverbs 23, excuse me,
Proverbs 3, just a minute. Proverbs 23. I love this. I'd
love to bring a message from this one of these days. Maybe
one of you fellas can bring a message from this Proverbs 3 one of these
days. But look what it says, Proverbs
3 in verse 5. Oh my. Oh the wisdom and goodness
of God in our pleasures and our trials. Trust in the Lord with all thine
heart. Lean not on thine own understanding. In all your ways, good ways,
happy ways, joyful ways, sorrowful ways, sad ways, whatever way
it is that you're going through, acknowledge in all thy ways,
acknowledge Him. And He will direct you back. I acknowledge, Lord, that that's
come from Your hand. Everything comes from Your hand.
We acknowledge that. And we're grateful for it. Grateful
for it. And since all we have is the
gift of God, let's learn to be content in whatever state we're
in. You all know that over in Philippians chapter 4. Let's
look at that just a minute. I won't take much longer. Here
in Philippians. Chapter 4. Since everything we
have is the gift of God, He freely gives it to us in Christ. Everything. Everything in our lives is a
gift. The good, the tough, the rough,
the sunshine, the rain, the sorrow, the laughter, the peace, the grief, all things
come from Him. So let's learn in whatsoever
state we're in to be content. Look what he said in verse 11
of chapter 4. Paul talking about here, not
that I speak in respect of Walt. When he tells some people, you
know, that y'all sent me some things. But I've learned. It's
lessons hard learned. But I have learned in whatsoever
state I am to be content. He was floating around on a board
out in the middle of the ocean. He was content. He got a bunker
and poured down the rain. He was there with all them heathens
on Malata and all them peoples there and he got down a bunch
of sticks and he just got pulled out of the ocean, man. He just
got out of the ocean on the board. He grabbed a bunch of armload
of wood going to build on that fire and let it on there and
a spike will come out and last on to it. And everybody there
said, boys, vengeance. That God suffers, not him to
live, said he's going to die. He may have been, he might have
got out of that one, the chair breaking out of that old chair,
but he's going to die now. He just shook it off in the fire.
They watched and watched and watched and watched and watched.
Paul never paid a bit more attention to that viper than with Gar's
snake. And then they said, oh, why?
And then he started praying for those folks and him and those
people. He was as content in the rain
with a snake on his arm. In that shipwreck, he told everybody
else, he said, don't you fellas worry. He said, don't be afraid. The Lord's gonna save all of
us. He'll save us all. Boy, boy. And look what else he goes on
to say. I know both how to be abased. Now that's something
most of us don't know how to do. How to be put down. As old Scott used to say, put
in the dust. And I know how to abound, and
we know how to do that. And everywhere in all things
I'm instructed to be full and to be hungry, both to abound
and to suffer need. And before the world I'm abounding.
Among the Lord's people before God I'm in need. For the world
I'm full. In the presence of God and the
presence of the saints I'm hungry. And that's what he means. And
then look what he said in verse 13. I can do all things through
Christ which strengtheneth me. Oh, our Father knows our needs.
The earth and this world and all it is, it belongs to Him.
Look at what He's already given us. I know some people struggle
to make a living. If that's what's necessary, that's
what's necessary. Are you afraid maybe one of these
days that you're going to lose somebody you really love? A woman
talked to me yesterday. Sheila Curtis, Clay's mother,
daddy. They took him off of chemo, took
him off radiation. Going to do a scan. Don't look
like going to do anything else for him. Maybe a colostomy. She's
dreading that day. She's dreading that day. You know, you lose a friend.
Well, He gave us who we have. They were His to start with. They were His when He come and
got them. And they'll be His through eternity. Huh? Oh my. And I tell you, we may
lose everything. But one thing we'll never lose.
We'll never lose our Lord. Never lose our relationship with
God. You can't do that. Oh, Lord Jesus. Oh, bless His
name. Bless His name. Bless His name.
Are you sick? Troubles in your body? Troubles
in your mind? Well, He's touched with the feelings
of our infirmities. He knows our frames. He knows
that we're just nothing but dust. And He loved Lazarus, but He
let him die. If He says sickness is better
for you than health, then you'll be sick. But oh, there's a land
far away where no sickness, sorrow, pain
or grief never enters it. Why? Because God spared not His
own Son and with Him freely, freely, gives us everything that
is necessary for us in this world and for the world to come. Oh, our Savior. Oh, blessed, blessed Savior. Lord, our hearts, my heart is
so desirous of You. Desirous of Your will. Desirous
of Your presence. Desirous of your strength. Desirous
of your grace. Don't want to take a step without
you. Don't want to face a moment without
you. Don't want to go to bed tonight without you. Don't want
to wake up without you. And whatever, Lord, you have
prepared for us for this life, I know that you'll always give
us the grace to face it. And you'll always do what's right,
and do what's best, and do what's good. You said you would. You
said you did. God bless these dear saints.
Strengthen them. Encourage them. Help them on
their jobs. Help them in their homes. Help them in their prayers. Help
them in their groans. And help them in their pleasures,
so they can enjoy them. We ask these things in our Lord
Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Let's turn to 303.
Let's take this and you'll be in liberty to go. 303. Everybody
knows what this is. We stand together. Jesus, Savior, God of ease, Sure. may be this way Jaehyun!
