forever and ever. His loving kindnesses, tender
mercies, and compassions are new every morning. Great is His
faithfulness. His mercy endureth forever. This

in so great salvation by the perfect and finished work of
our Lord Jesus Christ in saving poor, needy, and wretched sinners
by His sovereign free grace, that is to say, Almighty God,
in His unmerited favor to save me and you from our sins and
from hell. A reading from Exodus 34, 30.
Behold, the skin of the face of Moses shone, and they were
afraid to come nigh unto him. Here see the glorious effects
of being on the mount with God, of having free access and holy
conversation with him. When we draw nigh to God, he
draws nigh to us. Our souls catch the splendor
and glory. of His grace. This revives our
countenance and makes our face to shine. Here is somewhat worthy
our attention, for the Holy Inspirer calls upon us. Behold, Lord,
give us to behold this, to our edification and comfort. First,
when Moses came down from the mount, his face shone, but he
knew it not. Oh, it is well for us when we
are so wholly taken up with the majesty and glory of our Lord
and see such splendor of grace and love shine on his countenance
as not to be looking at ourselves and admiring our own gifts and
graces. It is to imitate fops and fribbles
in nature, to look at a glass to admire ourselves, to fall
in love with our own beauty is to play the harlot. See Exodus
16, 15. Second, though Moses knew not
that the skin of his face shone, yet others saw it and were afraid
to come near him. Here behold the glory and majesty
of the holy law of God. Like the face of Moses, it darts
its piercing rays of light. and terror into the consciences
of poor sinners. It works wrath. It fills the
soul with the knowledge of sin, the fear of hell, and the dread
of damnation. There is a glory in the law,
though it ministers nothing but condemnation. Third, the face
of Moses shown so that he was forced to put a veil on it while
he was talking to the people. Did such a little of the glory
of the law so shine in the face of Moses and that but with borrowed
splendor that they could not behold his face? Then how terrifying,
how dreadful to sinners to stand before the majesty of divine
justice and to be arraigned by divine truth as transgressors
of this holy law. Who can bear the thought without
terror? Who can bear the sight without death and destruction
from the presence of the Lord? Oh, think of the law in all its
dread and terror. See sin in all its exceeding
sinfulness and consider forth the ministration of righteousness,
which exceeds in glory. Through the love and grace of
our dear mediator, we are called to behold him, but not with avail
upon his face, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 3.18, for we
all with open face behold, as in a glass, the glory of the
Lord. Fifth, did the Lord cause the
face of Moses thus to shine? Eternal praises to God. He hath
shined in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians
4.6. In him, we see the law fulfilled,
its curse sustained, our souls redeemed from all its terror
and bondage and brought into the glorious liberty of the sons
of God. As it is written in Romans 6,
14, ye are not under the law, but under grace. That was from
old timer preacher, William Mason. That soul never perished that
felt itself to be vile and Jesus to be precious. What are you
to yourself? Worthless? Vile? Empty? What
is Jesus to you? Precious? Lovely? All your salvation? All your desire? What is sin
to you? The most hateful thing in the
world? What is holiness to you? Most desired? Most longed for?
What is the throne of grace to you? The most attractive spot? What is the cross to you? The
sweetest resting place in the universe? What is God to you? Your God, your father, the spring
of all your joys, the fountainhead of all your bliss, the center
where your affections meet? Is it so? Then you are a child
of God. those low views of yourself,
that brokenness, that inward mourning, that secret confession,
that longing for more spirituality, more grace, more devotedness,
more love does but prove the existence, reality, and growth
of God's work within you. Cheer up, precious soul. That
soul never perished that felt itself to be vile and Jesus to

my beauty are, my glorious dress. Mid flaming worlds in these arrayed,
with joy shall I lift up my head. When from the dust of death I
rise, To take my dwelling in the skies, Even then shall this
be all my plea, The Savior lived and died for me. Bold shall I
stand in that great day, For who ought to my charge shall
lay My beauty this, my glorious dress, Jesus, the Lord, my righteousness. This spotless robe, the same
appear, would ruin nature, sinks in years. No age can change its
glorious hue. The robe of Christ is ever new.
That was an old hymn entitled, Jesus, Thy Blood and Righteousness. Good works. While we are not
saved by our good works, but holy by the work of Christ on
our behalf, we were created unto good works. Ephesians 2.10. We are to be zealous of good
works. Titus 2.14. Careful to maintain good works.
Titus 3.8. And be rich in good works. 1
Timothy 6.18. Out of our desire to glorify
His grace, may the Lord use this to remind us to be zealous of,
careful to maintain, and rich in good works. It is written
in Philippians 1.6, being confident of this very thing, that he which
began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ. If God began a thing, it is not
begun in time. If it is realized in time, it
began with God in eternity. So the salvation, the grace that
these believers received began before the foundation of the
world. We know from the clear revelation of scripture that
the eternal aspects of grace are Christ's surety ship, election
unto salvation, predestination of conformity to Christ, calling,
justification and glorification. Along with this is the eternal
mechanism of providence that orders all things to their appointed
end. I feel for those who think that
what they do or do not do somehow affects the outcome of history.
It is He that has begun this good work, and who can disannul
or turn it back? The work is called a good work. There is no doubt it is good
for the believer. However, the reason it is good
is because God is good. This has to do with his glory.
See Exodus 33, 18 and 19. It is a good work because it
glorifies God in all its attributes. The report of it is called good
news or good tidings. The only other work referred
to as a good work involved anointing our Lord for his burial. A thing
that honored the surety of his death for the salvation of his
elect. See Mark 14 verses 3 through
9. Paul's confidence was that if God had begun the work, he
would also do the work, finish the work, and receive all the
glory for the work. See Ephesians 1, verses three
through six. The wonder and glory of this
truth is that the beginning, when God is the author, assures
the end. In fact, scripture declares that
the end was already set and sure. The beginning was merely the
historical opening line of an already complete story. See Isaiah
46 verses 9 through 12. Christ said in Revelation 22,
13, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first
and the last. The day of Jesus Christ is a
twofold day of finishing. It refers first to the day of
his death that finished salvation. Secondly, It refers to his second
coming where the final aspect of that finished salvation will
be realized, the gathering of the elect and the utter destruction
of the enemy. Paul is confident of this very

James. One way to God, no prayer ever
ascended to God except through the only mediator, the Lord Jesus
Christ. And no blessing ever descended
to anyone except through this same mediator. As it is written
in 1 Timothy 2.5, for there is one God and one mediator between
God and men, the man Christ Jesus. There are not many ways to God,
but thankfully there is one way. Though God is infinitely high
above us, and His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are
not our thoughts, yet there is one way to come to Him. Isaiah speaks of the way of holiness,
upon which sinners like us can come to God, walk with God, as
Enoch did, and God will walk with us. This is the king's highway,
for our Savior said in John 14 6, I am the way, the truth, and
the life. No man cometh to the Father,
but by me. There is but one who can take
us to God, and he is the God-man, the one of whom the father said,
this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Christ Jesus
is the sinner's savior and he is himself the way to God. Who
of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification
and redemption, that according as it is written, he that glorieth,
let him glory in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 1 verses 30 through
31. Come to God through Christ, who
said, I am the door. By me, if any man enter in, he
shall be saved and go in and out and find pasture. John 10,

Byrd. It is written in Isaiah 45, 22, where our Lord Jesus
Christ commands, look unto me and be ye saved, all the ends
of the earth. For I am God and there is none
else. The Lord Jesus also says in Matthew 11, come unto me all
you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly
in heart and you shall find rest unto your souls for my yoke is
easy and my burden is light. Friends, it is imperative that
you flee to Christ Jesus today, not tomorrow, for none of us
are promised another day on this planet. Today is the day of salvation. Call upon the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ while he may be found and seek him while he is
near. Only by being in Christ, the
ark of our salvation, may we be delivered from the fierce
wrath of Almighty God, which is coming soon upon the wicked. It's about wraps up this broadcast.
