I'd like for you to turn with
me in your Bibles this morning to the Gospel of John, chapter
18, and then just hold your place there. I have some comments to
make before we read our tape. I received an email this week
from a dear sister in Christ, somebody I've known for quite
a while, and she is a faithful servant
of the Lord. And she'd obviously been confronted
with what has become a very popular concept among men and women who
consider themselves to be wise in worldly affairs. What do I
mean by that? I mean that they consider themselves
to be educated above religious superstitions, above these ideas
and principles of religion. And the thing she was confronted
with is this, that there is no such thing as absolute truth. No such thing as absolute truth.
Now, I get this all the time, and I know you do. You may get
it in a little different form than what she got it, but I get
it all the time. That's your interpretation. That's your idea. What means
this to you don't necessarily mean this to me. But truth is a relevant thing.
That's the word they were using back and forth and banding back
and forth in this debate. And that truth being relevant,
it might be interpreted differently depending on the age in which
it was given or the situation or the beliefs the particular
beliefs of an individual. Here's one of the comments that
was made that kind of illustrated what she was saying. This was
another young lady, and she said, truth is relevant according to
its frame of reference. We all approach the world from
such different perspectives. Who then decides what is true
and what isn't? Who decides that? I say that I'm telling you the
truth, but this man down the street says I'm telling you the
truth. And then another fellow over in Magnolia, he says I'm
telling the truth, and this fellow over in Texarkana says I'm telling
the truth. Who decides who's telling the
truth? You see where they're coming from? You see where the
debate is? Who then decides what is true
and what isn't? What is moral to you may not
be moral to me at all. No one gets to decide what absolute
truth is, like it or not. And this is just one of many
forms of worldly philosophy that twist and distort and rest the
scriptures to their own destruction. And they do this in an attempt
to hide themselves from the face of Him with whom we have to do.
They do this thing to take away that responsibility that's carried
with that truth. Now He said, go ye into all the
world and preach the gospel. He that believeth and is baptized
shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be
damned. That, to me, indicates the necessity
for absolute truth. There cannot be a judgment if
there is no absolute truth. Cannot be a judgment if there's
no basis for it. Now, if I understand the question,
it's whether or not there is such a thing as absolute truth.
That is a doctrine, a teaching, a biblical interpretation that
is above reproach. Is there such a thing as a dogmatic
declaration to men to which they shall be held accountable? Well,
that's my subject this morning. What is truth? What is truth? Is it something
that just floats about in the atmosphere and means this to
you, means that to me, means something else to somebody else?
What is this truth? In John chapter 18, the Jews
had put a bug in the ear of Pilate. And they were bent on destroying
this man Jesus, which they had falsely accused, hired men to lie on him, false
witnesses. Why? Because he was interrupting
their mainstream religion. He was exposing their foolishness.
He was exposing the false refuge that they were preaching, and
they didn't like it. They wanted to get rid of it. They wanted
to get rid of it. And Pilate was a man with no
beliefs in their religion whatsoever. None of those things stirred
him up. And he could see right through the facade of it. And
he could see that this man that they were accusing, he was just
a scapegoat. He was just somebody that was
in the way that they had to get out of the way for things that
they desired to do and say. And so they turned up the heat
on old Pilate by making an issue out of Christ's claims to be
the king of the Jews. And they did it in such a way
to make him believe that he was the leader of a rebel party that
would rise up against Caesar. And so they made an issue out
of it that he couldn't get out of. Now he could get out of their
religious things. You judge them according to your
law. You take them over there. Don't
bring them to me. So they brought up this issue. Now he can't do
anything because they're going to go to Caesar and tell him
what they just told Pilate. So Pilate comes in and he again
questions the Lord about these accusations. John 18, verse 37. Pilate therefore said unto him,
Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that
I am a king. To this end was I born, and for
this cause came I into the world. Now watch this. That I should
bear witness to the truth. Now, just stop and try to put
yourself in Pilate's shoes for a minute. Here's these Jews willing
to justify their actions because of what they believe to be true.
And here's Pilate trying to make his decisions and his determinations
as a judge according to what he believes is truth, the law
of Rome. And here is Christ claiming to
come into this world to manifest the truth. To this end was I born, and for
this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto
the truth. Everyone that is of the truth
heareth my voice, to which Pilate answered, saying, What is truth? And he turned and walked away.
What is truth? What is truth? Three sources
of truth that day, but only one was absolute. Only one. I'm confronted all the time with
questions just like this woman was confronted with. Who made
you the interpreter of Scripture? What makes you so sure that everything
you say is right? Who gave you the right to stand
up there and say, this is the way it is, and it's not that
way, and it's not this way, and it's not that way? Who gave you
that right? Who told you that? Who gave you that power? Who
made you the pillar and ground of the truth? What makes you
so sure that what you preach, that you can preach it in such
a dogmatic fashion? What is truth? Is truth a relative
thing, something that means different things to different people? What
is truth? Well, what I propose to do, and
I try to put myself in the position of this lady who was talking
about this truth being relative. And I might look and I might
say, all right, truth, as it comes purely from God, must be
absolute. Must be absolute. God is not
a liar. Everything He says must be true.
I can buy that, can't you? Anybody in here can't buy that?
That what God says is absolute. All right? Have you got any doubt
in your mind that when Christ came into this world, the Son
of God made flesh, God and man in one person, and manifested
the truth? It's still in its purity, isn't
it? But now what about when it gets to men? This is where the problem is,
isn't it? See, they didn't recognize Him as the Son of God. That's
why they couldn't believe what He said. And over and over, He
told them, He said, which of you accuseth Me of sin? Which one? Is there anybody out
there that can find any sins that He can push on Me? Then
why don't you believe Me when I tell you the truth? We can believe that in the Savior,
but now what about men? What about what you believe?
What about what I preach? What happens to the truth when
it gets to that? Let me give you six things that
assure me that truth is absolute. Here's the first thing. Truth is not an opinion. Truth
is not an interpretation or an inspirational thought. Truth
is the character and attribute of God. Turn with me to Exodus
chapter 34. Let me show you something over
here. I'll just read you a single verse. Most of you know what
this is. This is when Moses appeared before God and he said,
show me your glory. And God said, alright. Here it
is. Now watch this. It's absolute. This is what I'm saying. Truth
is absolute because its source is the eternal God. And the Lord
passed by before him and proclaimed the Lord, the Lord God, merciful
and gracious, long-suffering and abundant in goodness and
truth. Truth. This is his character. Truth
is his character. In order for truth to change, in order for truth
to be distorted, in order for truth to mean various things,
it would be a compromise of the very character of God. You see
what I'm saying? Truth is who God is. That's truth. That's truth. He's the wellspring and source
of all truth. is the very God of glory. Listen
to what God tells us about Himself through the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah 40, verse 13. Who hath
directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being His counselor, hath
taught Him? With whom took He counsel? And
who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgment,
and taught Him knowledge, and showed to Him the way of understanding?
You see what He's saying? Nobody taught me. Nobody instructed
me. I am the eternal God. Everything that's out here is
out here because of me. Isaiah 41, verse 21. He said,
produce your cause. Now he's talking about the religions
of the nations. He's talking about the Gentile
gods. These figures that they whittled out of wood and molded
out of gold and silver. He said, Produce your call, saith
the Lord. Bring forth your strong reasons
with the King of Jacob. Let them bring forth and show
me what shall happen. Let them show the former things
what they be, that we might consider them, and know the latter end
of them, and declare us things for to come. Show the things
that are to come hereafter, that we might know that ye are gods. Yea, do good or do evil, that
we may be dismayed and behold it together. Behold, he said,
ye are nothing, and your work of naught and abomination is
he that chooseth you." This is God. Our God is the wellspring
and source of all truth. But there's a problem. Men don't
know God. They don't know God. Man's eye
has never seen Him or beheld any shape or form of God. And
that brings me to the second thing I know about the truth.
The eternal Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld
His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,
full of grace and truth. Isn't that the way you say it?
The embodiment of truth is in Him. Would I know the truth as
it is in God? It's displayed in Christ. Displayed
in Him. That's where I'm going to have
to go if I'm going to know anything about it. John 1.18, it said,
No man has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, which
is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him. And then
turn over just a few pages with me to John chapter 3. This is a record of a conversation
that went on between John the Baptist and his disciples about
the right of Christ to baptize, to preach, to minister to men. John the Baptist, they believed,
was a prophet. They weren't so sure about Jesus
Christ. They didn't know so much about
him. This conversation was going back and forth. They said, do
you know that he's over here baptizing people? Are you aware
of that? Those disciples. Here's what
he told them. I ain't told them many things,
but I'm going to go down here and begin in verse 31. He that
cometh from above is above all. He that is of the earth is earthy.
He speaketh of the earth. He that cometh from heaven is
above all. And what he hath seen and heard,
that he testifieth. And no man receiveth his testimony. He that receiveth his testimony,
now watch it, has set to his seal that God is true. You see that? You see how the
absolute truth in God is manifested through the Son. And those that
believe His testimony, those who see this truth manifested
in Him, have set to their seal that God is true. He's true. For he whom God has sent speaketh
the words of God. For God giveth not the Spirit
by measure unto him. And then over in John 14, verse
6, the Lord said to those confused, especially Thomas, he was confused
about this whole thing. He said, we don't know where
you're going, and how should we know the way? Now listen to
what he tells us. He said, I am the way. Now listen. The truth. Ain't that what that
says? And the life. I am the truth. All truth is embodied in the
person of Jesus Christ. Everything He did was truth.
Everything He said was truth. He's the embodiment. In Him dwelleth
all the fullness of truth. In Him. You're complete in Him.
Everything you need to learn. Paul said, don't run over here
to vain philosophers to learn. Stay right here at Christ. Isn't
that what he says there in Colossians chapter 3? Don't be running off. Stay right here. Stay right here.
Camp right here. Because in Him is hid all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge. In Ephesians chapter 4, having
described this unbelieving world as walking in the vanity of their
minds, walking in the vanity, imagining this to be so, and
that to be so, and something else to be so, and out here preaching
this, and talking about this, and saying this. They walk in
the vanity of their minds. He then turns and tells the church,
Ephesians 4 verse 20, But ye have not so learned Christ, if
so be that ye have heard Him, and have been taught by Him,
as the truth is in Him. Ain't that something? He is the
embodiment of truth. The invisible God has established
the truth both in and by His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Alright, let's say I buy into
what you said so far. God is the source. He's the wellspring
of all truth. And the Lord Jesus Christ manifested
the character of God and therefore manifested His truth. and was
truth incarnate. Let's say I go along with that.
What about these prophets and apostles who wrote the Scriptures? Now, these were men. This is not God and man, one
person. This is just a man. Moses was just a man, wasn't
he? Job was just a man. David was
just a man. Don't you believe that these
were just men like we are? Don't you believe that they heard
the testimony of their fathers, and wrote as best they could,
and with their limited understanding, interpreted God's truth to various
ages? And when we read them, we really
can't draw a parallel to our generation. We really can't look
at it as absolute truth, because these were just men.
No, sir, I don't believe that, not in the least. In 2 Peter
1, verse 20, he tells us this. He said, no prophecy of the Scripture
is of any private interpretation. It was not given to men to interpret
any way they choose to interpret it. It was not given to only
one man in one age and in one circumstance. Nor was it given,
meaning different things to different people, nor is anyone any one
verse in this Bible to contradict another. Whatever grace meant
in Genesis chapter 1, it means all the way through the end of
Revelation. It is not different. It remains
absolute. He said in one place there in
Isaiah, he said, I am the Lord. He said, I declare the end from
the beginning. And from ancient times, the things
that are not yet done, saying my counsel will stand and I'll
do all my pleasure. You can't do that if what you
say in the beginning is not true, can you? If it's not absolute
truth, then it can't continue to be truth all the way to the
end. And I'll tell you why Peter said
this, because their prophecy came not in old time by the will
of men, but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost. In 2 Timothy 3, verse 16, it says, All Scripture is
given by inspiration of God. These men didn't just sit around
and read John Gill and read somebody else and sit down and say, well,
here's what they're... and write a commentary, and then later
on they gathered it all up and called it a Bible. That's not
how the Bible came to be. These men were inspired. The words that they wrote were
God-breathed. All Scripture is given by inspiration
of God, and it's profitable for doctrine. What kind of doctrine? Dogmatic doctrine. Absolute doctrine. It's profitable for doctrine.
It's profitable for reproof and for correction and for instruction
in righteousness that the man of God might be perfect, truly
furnished unto all good works. The Scriptures are the infallible,
inerrant truth of God. And in 1 John 5, verse 9, both
the preacher and the Word of God he preaches forms what is
called the testimony of God. That's what he says. And then
in verse 11, it's called his record. There's three inerrant sources
of absolute truth. God the Father, God the Son manifested in the
flesh, and the Word of God, God breathed by the Holy Spirit through
men. But that's not the end of it.
Here's the fourth thing I know about the truth. This absolute
truth is that God will not leave these things to fallen men to
twist and distort like they want to. But He sends the eternal
Spirit of truth, the one who breathed these records through
me. The one who is the author of
the truth. the Holy Spirit of God. He sends
the eternal Spirit of truth to guard and to guide and reveal
His truth to chosen sinners. What I'm laboring to do here
this morning is show you that truth, absolute truth, as it
springs forth from God, never leaves His hands. Not even in
the judgment. It never leaves His hand. Is
it declared by men? Absolutely. But not apart from
the power and presence of God. That truth is never given over
to you to do what you want to with. Never. God will not leave these things
to fallen men to twist and distort and debate about and define.
He sends the eternal Spirit of Truth to guard and guide and
reveal His truth to chosen sinners. Hearing, believing, and surrendering
are acts of God's sovereign grace. That's God who does this. Believers
are enabled by the Spirit of God to see and to comprehend
and embrace the truth by the power and presence of the Holy
Ghost. There is no surrendering to truth apart from the Spirit
of God. A man is not going to surrender
to anything. He believes himself to be God. He worships himself. You can't tell him anything.
You can't teach him anything. You can't correct him. You can't
do anything with him. He's like a wolf. Brother Mahan
said you can pet a sheep, but you can't pet a wolf. Take your
arm off. Paul wrote to the Philippians
and he told them that His confidence. He said, here's my confidence
toward you. Here was a band of believers
that he stood and taught and declared these things in dogmatic
fashion, the same as I do to you, week after week. And these
men professed to believe what he preached. And Paul said, here's
my confidence toward you. In his whole life, here's my
confidence. Was his confidence in some talent
he had? Uh-uh, he doesn't mention that.
Was his confidence in how well he was educated and how much
he knew? Uh-uh. Was his confidence in how spiritual
he was? Uh-uh. Hear what he said. That he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it unto the day of Jesus Christ. That's
his confidence. He said, take my preaching, take
my teaching, take my interpretations and declarations, and work out
your own salvation with fear and trembling. For He said, I
know this, it is God that worketh in you, both the will and the
do of His good pleasure. John 16, verse 13, Our Lord told
His disciples, howbeit when He, the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of
Truth has come. He will guide you into all truth. All truth. Not a mess of lies. Not a bunch of compromise. He's
going to lead you into truth. Into truth. People ask me all the time, will
you believe a person has to believe in election to be saved? Uh-uh.
Unless he's confronted with it. Now look out. Believers believe
the truth. They receive the truth. They
surrender themselves to the truth. They might not understand it,
but I bow to it. Don't you? And I tell you what,
when I bowed to it, I found out in time, He gave me an understanding
of it. Huh? That's right. He'll guide you into all truth.
He won't speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that
shall He speak. He'll glorify Me, for He shall
receive of Mine and show it unto you. And then the fifth thing
I know about the truth of God is that it pleased Him to carry
this truth to men by certain individuals ordained of God,
pastor, teachers, evangelists, missionaries. I'm going to give
you two scriptures here. First of all, in 1 Corinthians
1.21, he said this, After that, in the wisdom of God, the world
by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching
to save them that believed. Men received the gospel they
preached, and God honored it. He sent out the 70. He equipped
them. He taught them. He sent them
out. He empowered them to go and preach it under His authority.
And here's what he told them. He said, he that heareth you,
heareth me. Isn't that what he said? That's exactly what he
said. He that despises you, despises me. This is God's eternal purpose.
It is the wisdom of God displayed in His ways and carried out in
this world. And then over in Acts chapter
13, at the church of Antioch, There was two men there who believed
that they were called of God to preach, to be God's ambassadors. Two men there, Barnabas and Paul. They believed, but they didn't
go nowhere. They sat right there in that chair. Right there in
that chair. I'm telling you, I know, because
they were chomping at the bit. They wanted to preach. They were
willing to preach. They believed they were called
to preach, but they never moved. They never moved. They sat right
there at that church in Antioch. Until the Spirit of the living
God laid it upon the hearts of the elders of that church to
separate, that's what it says, separate Barnabas and Saul for
the work whereunto they were called. The Holy Ghost did that. The Holy Ghost. And I tell you,
later on, there wasn't a doubt in Paul's mind when he went out
to preach the gospel, and old Barnabas went out, and they were
even given their lives for the preaching of the gospel. There
was never a doubt in their mind that God separated them for the
ministry. Because the same God who called
them to preach laid it on the hearts of these elders to anoint
them and send them out. When God calls a man to preach,
he's not the only one who's aware of it. And if He is, He might
want to go back and rethink His calling. God will lay it on the heart
of the elders of that church where He goes. They'll recognize
it. They'll know it because the same
Spirit that dwells in His heart dwells in mine. He doesn't work
one thing in your heart, Nathan, and another thing in mine. He
works the same thing. And the same Spirit that ministered
in the hearts of these elders ministered in the hearts of those
two preachers. Truth is a precious thing to
God. It's a matter of His own character
and glory. It is the very basis of all judgment
and the foundation of saving faith. He's not going to trust
that to fickle man. But He takes it with men by the
presence of the Holy Ghost. And that's what makes it effectual.
Wait a minute, preacher. Are you saying that God calls
certain men to carry His gospel to His generation and that all
those who believe are shut up to these men? That's exactly
what I'm saying. He shuts you up to His preacher. The Holy Ghost makes this gracious
declaration to anybody who reads it. Romans 10, verse 13, Whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. People say,
well, I just don't know if I'm elect. Are you a whosoever? Then
that promise is to you. That promise. Whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I'd rather have
that than my name written there. Somebody else might have the
same name. But they don't have that. That
whosoever covers me. And if I can call on His name,
I'm going to be saved. That's what that says. And His name, what's that talking
about? That's who He is. His name is His character. His
name is how He's declared of God in the Scriptures. Set forth,
like He tells us over in Romans 3. Set forth of God to be a propitiation. Set forth in the Word. Set forth
in the declaration of the Gospel as a propitiation for our sin
through faith in His blood. What's His name? God's name is
Immanuel, God with us. Jesus, Joshua, Savior. His name
is Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord will provide. Jehovah-Nissi, the Lord
our banner. His name is Jehovah-Kadish, the
Lord our sanctifier. His name is Jehovah-Rehah, the
Lord our shepherd. Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord our
peace. Jehovah-Tzidkenu, the Lord our
righteousness. His name is Jehovah Shema, the
Lord is true. His name is Jehovah Elohim, the
Lord my God. That's His name. And any sinner
who can in his wretched condition, like the leper of old, call upon
the name of the Lord. If you will, you can make me
whole. You're going to be saved. But
then he asked four questions. How are you going to call on
Him in whom you have not believed? Huh? How are you going to call on Him?
You see the necessity for truth? Absolute truth has to be declared
in order for you to call on His name. How shall you call on Him in
whom you had not believed? And then secondly, how shall
they believe on Him of whom they had not heard? I can't tell you
how many times Winston and I went in and visited with a fellow
that's been coming here for a few weeks, and sat around and talked
to him for a little bit, and this was his comment. I never
heard anything like that before. How many times have you heard
that? I never heard that. That's what He says, isn't it?
How are you going to believe on Him of whom you have not heard?
And then thirdly, how shall you hear without a preacher? God's
not going to save anybody apart from the truth. You shall know
the truth, and the truth shall set you free. And I'll tell you
this, nothing more demonstrates the sovereignty of a king than
for his ambassador to stand before a band of rebels and tell them
to surrender or die. That's God's sovereignty. A man stands up before a group
of people and says, surrender to Christ or die. I'll tell you,
I'd be hard-pressed to go into a band of rebels and tell them
that when you're I would if I didn't believe God was with me. Kiss the son or perish when his
wrath is kindled but a little. Old Jews listened to the Lord
declare himself to be the bread of heaven, sent down of God to
give life to all those who would eat the bread. And they murmured. And they said, he's the son of
Joseph. What's he talking about? He's the heavenly bread. We know
him. We know Him. And the Lord said,
don't murmur. Don't murmur. No man can come
to Me. That is, he can't call on Me.
He can't come to Me with a right mind and spirit except the Father
which has sent Me draw him. And I'll raise him up at the
last day. And then fourthly, how shall
they preach except they be sent? I'm not going to turn this truth
over to a bunch of rebels, a bunch of blind leaders of the blind.
He's going to separate to himself certain individuals. And those
individuals he's going to equip. He's going to give them the revelation
of Christ. He's going to reveal Christ in
them so clearly that when they read the Scriptures, they can
tell it to other men without stammering and stuttering. and
bringing up a load of past preachers and all this kind of nonsense.
He reveals it in them that they might be able to preach Him among
the heathen. How shall they preach except
they be sinned? I don't even know who to preach
to. I don't even know who to preach to. sin of God, separated
to the ministry, equipped of God to stand as His ambassador
and accompanied by Spirit, given an understanding and a heart
of love. I'll tell you this, you're not going to hear from
God through a false prophet. They're blind leaders of the
blind. That's what the Scripture said. And you're not going to
learn God's name from an imposter. They're ever learning and never
able to come to the knowledge of the truth. The man of God
goes where God sends him, and all the elect of God are drawn
to him. And those that be of God heareth
us. That's what John said. That's
what he said. And then, sixthly, here's the
sixth thing I know about the truth of God. It's that God Himself
will judge this world by truth. Now, that's where we began in
my introduction. If there is no absolute truth,
then there's not going to be a judge. When God told Adam,
He said, all these trees in the garden, you can eat every one
of them, but don't eat this tree. Was that true? How did I know it was true? Because God judged him. That's
right. He judged him. And not only in
that last and final day, but right now in this present world.
You read through II Thessalonians chapter 2 and he talks about
Satan's ministers and false religion, that spirit of antichrist, that
man of sin and its damning effects on men. He personifies these
workers of iniquity and he tells us that with all deceivableness
of unrighteousness, deceived by his power, deceived by these
signs and lying wonders, Can't get over the masses. Just can't
get over. We went to Washington D.C. one
time and we had to back up a full city block just to get that National
Cathedral in the camera. Couldn't even get a picture of
it. Can't get over that. Folks can't,
can they? That's a lying wonder. Masses. Masses. My soul is the masses,
these denominational masses. I can't get over their history.
I can't get past their good works and their great orators and their
charitable things that they do. He deceives them by lying wonders. Who does He deceive? Those that
are perishing. He deceives them. And God leaves
them alone. Now listen. Why would God leave
him alone? Because he received not the love
of the truth that he might be saved. And for this cause, God
shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie
and be damned. To all might be damned who believe
not the truth but found pleasure in this unrighteous ministry
of these false prophets. But he said, we are bound to
give thanks always for you, brethren, beloved of the Lord, Because
God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification
of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Isn't that what he said? Whereunto, whereunto He called
you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of the Lord Jesus
Christ. Can you see what I'm talking
about? Absolute truth. I've got no problem seeing it
in God. I've got no problem seeing it manifested in Christ. But
when it gets into the hands of men, that's where we have trouble
in it. But I'll tell you this, it never left God's hands. When
He gives it to a man, he comes with the truth. The Spirit of
God comes with that truth. He told those disciples, He said,
you go to Jerusalem and tarry. carry until you be endued with
power from on high. You don't make decisions. You
don't go and preach. You don't do anything. You just
go over there, sit down, and wait until you be endued with
power from on high. And when they were, they went
out and turned the world. Just a handful of men, they went
out and turned the world upside down. And it don't just come with that
man who stands and speaks to you. The Holy Spirit Himself
goes into the hearts of God's elect and interprets that Word
and makes them to know that what they're hearing is true. John
said in 1 John 2, he said, you have an unction of the Holy One,
and you know when you hear the truth. You know that. I hope
that's been a help to you. I know I get confronted with
it all the time. But if there's no absolute truth,
then everything else is irrelevant. It's just an opinion. We can
bandy it about. We can debate about it. We can
do all these things. But if there's absolute truth, it demands a
decision on your part. It demands a believing on your
part. It demands obeying on your part.
Absolute truth. Otherwise, it's all just a waste
of time. May God bless you.
