Luke 1:46-56
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.

The title of the message today
is, The Believer's Story and The Believer's Psalm. From Luke
chapter 1 verse 46, And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the
Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced and is rejoicing in God my Savior."
Who is the Lord Jesus Christ? He is God our Savior. Mary's song of praise to the
Lord is very, very similar to what we just read in 1 Samuel
chapter 2. You see, both Hannah and Mary
and Elizabeth had the same hope of salvation. All these dear
women were justified by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He
is the only Savior of sinners. The Lord Jesus Christ is the
Savior who really saves His people from their sin. He didn't make
an effort to save. He didn't attempt to save them.
He saved them by His blood when He died. Therefore, every believer
has a good hope, a good hope of salvation. It's not a wishy-washy
hope, not a shot in the dark hope. We have a good hope. The
Apostle writes this, we have an everlasting consolation and
a good hope, a good hope through grace, a good hope through the
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sinners are justified by faith
in Christ through His blood. The story of Hannah and the story
of Mary is a story and song of every believer. Every believer
can identify with Mary, can't we? Every believer can identify
with Hannah. Salvation is of the Lord. It's the Lord's doing. I love
the verse in verse 49, the words found in verse 49 of Luke 1.
He that is mighty The Almighty God had done to me great things,
and holy is His name." He is a mighty God who has done great
things. In the same chapter, Luke chapter
1 verse 67, Zacharias, the priest of God, the father of John the
Baptist, was filled with the Holy Ghost, and he prophesied,
saying, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he hath visited
and redeemed his people. He hath raised up the power of
salvation for us in the house of David his servant. You see, every believer can say,
Salvation is of the Lord. He has done to me great things. Now Mary had been listening to
her dear cousin Elizabeth. We studied that last week. and
listening how God Almighty would perform all of His promise. Notice verse 45, Blessed is she
that believeth, for there shall be a performance of those things
which were told her from the Lord. And Mary wastes no time
in finding great comfort, great joy in the Lord's saving mercy,
and she praises the Lord with this song, My soul doth magnify
the Lord. Isn't that your song this morning,
you who believe the gospel? Now let's just take a look at
verse 46 down to verse 56 and we'll bring this message in the
form of a Bible study. The word magnify there in verse
46 means to declare that the Lord is great. We don't make
Him great, we rather as believers declare His greatness, declare
His glory. We try to declare and preach
the greatness of His person. Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty. Great is the Lord, the psalmist
said, Psalm 145. Great is the Lord and greatly
to be praised and His greatness is unsearchable. Great is the
Lord. We magnify His great and holy
name. Take your Bible and let's find
Psalm 34, first of all, and then we'll turn to Psalm 103. Psalm
34. When you magnify something, some
of you young people maybe have looked through a microscope,
and you looked at that slide you put underneath there, and
that microscope, it magnifies it, doesn't it? Well, in the
believer's heart, the Lord Jesus Christ has been magnified. He'd
been enlarged. Therefore, in Psalm 34, look
at verse 1, I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise
shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast
in the Lord. The humble shall hear thereof
and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me
and let us exalt his name together. His name is wonderful counselor,
the mighty God, the everlasting father. Now here's another psalm. We could read many psalms, but
these are a couple of my favorites. Find Psalm 103. Psalm 103. My soul does magnify, exalt,
and praise, and honor, and worship God. He's worthy of all honor
and worship. Psalm 103, look at verse 1. Bless
the Lord. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and
all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Bless the
Lord, O my soul. Forget not all. His benefits,
who forgiveth all thine iniquity, who healeth all thy diseases,
who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with loving
kindness and tender mercy, who satisfies thy mouth with good
things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles. Oh,
let's magnify the Lord together and let us exalt His name. Isn't
that our desire? Especially when we come together
as believers to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. I want Him to have
all the preeminence. I want Him to have all the honor
and glory in all of salvation. Now look back at Luke chapter
1 verse 46. My soul, my heart, my spirit,
the real you, that inner person, Our desire, an earnest desire,
is to honor and worship and glorify the Lord. Now look at verse 47. And Mary continues in this song
of thanksgiving. And that's the believer's song.
My spirit rejoices in God my Savior. You see, Mary, she's
still rejoicing in the Lord. You read in the book of Revelation,
those who are redeemed by the blood of Christ, they sing unto
Him, worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive all honor,
blessing, glory, and power, both now and forever. Mary is still
rejoicing in the Lord. Hannah is still finding great
comfort in the Lord and rejoicing in God. I love this statement
here. My spirit rejoices in God my
Savior. Now, who is the Lord Jesus Christ? He's God Almighty and He is God
my Savior. Mary knew beyond all doubt that
that baby still in her body would accomplish her salvation and
put away her sin. That was her hope. of Christ's
coming, the Lord Jesus Christ. In the fullness of time, God
sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law to redeem
them that were under the law. You remember the same messenger
came to Joseph in a dream and said, Joseph, don't be afraid
to take unto thee Mary. Because that holy thing that's
born in her, made in her, shall be called the Son of the Highest,
and call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from
their sin. My Spirit does rejoice in, now
get a hold of this statement, God my Savior. God is my Creator, created all
things by the Word of His power. God is my King, He is King of
Kings and He is Lord of Lords. God is my Sovereign, He works
all things after the counsel of His own will. God is my judge,
shall not the judge of all the earth do right? God is my provider,
Jehovah-Jireh, He will provide. makes my spirit rejoice is that
this One is God my Savior." He's my Savior. He's my Redeemer. You see, salvation is in a person.
You remember, turn one page to Luke chapter 2. The old man Simeon,
waiting for the consolation of the Lord, waiting for the coming
of the Messiah. And it was revealed unto him
in Luke chapter 2 verse 26, by the Holy Spirit that he should
not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came
by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought
in the child, Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
eight-day-old baby to be circumcised according to the law, Simeon
took him up, this eight-day-old baby, in his arms, and he blessed
God, and he said, Thank God for God my Savior. Lord, let us now
Thy servant depart in peace according to Thy Word, for mine eyes have
seen Thy salvation." What was Simeon's hope? Well, the same
as Mary's hope. The same as Hannah's hope. The
same hope every believer has. The Lord Jesus Christ is none
other than God our Savior. This is our hope. Jehovah. Jesus, God my Savior. Many times,
let me show you in the book of 1st and 2nd Timothy and the book
of Titus, turn over there. The apostle often refers in the
writing by Holy Spirit inspiration, 1st Timothy chapter 1, verse
1, Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our
Savior. You see that? 1st Timothy 1.
God our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, which is, you can leave
those two words out, I like to read it, God our Savior, Lord
Jesus Christ, He's our hope. He's all of our hope, not some
of our hope. He's all of our hope of salvation. Now, another one you can turn
to over here, turn to the book of Titus. to the book of Titus
and find Titus chapter 1. Titus chapter 1 now. Paul, a
servant an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the faith of God's
elect, and acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness,
in hope of eternal life which God that cannot lie promised
before the world began, but hath in due time manifested his word
through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment
of God our Saviour." Who is the Lord Jesus Christ? Well, He's
a man. He's a real man. God, but God
was manifest in the flesh. Without controversy, great is
the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh. As such, God our Savior is the
one who cannot fail to accomplish all salvation for us. Neither is there salvation in
any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among
men whereby we must be saved." Now can you turn back a few pages,
four or five books back into the Old Testament to the book
of Habakkuk. The book of Habakkuk. It's page
1163 if you have the Cambridge that I'm using, 1163. Haggai,
Zephaniah, Habakkuk. 1163, and this is the prayer
of God's apostle, Habakkuk chapter 3. And notice what it says here,
verse 17. Although the fig tree shall not
blossom, neither shall the fruit be in the vines, and the labor
of the olive shall fail, and the field shall yield no meat,
and the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall
be no herd in the stall. Boy, it looks pretty bleak, doesn't
it? Everything is gone. The fig tree doesn't bloom. No
olive oil. No meat. No flock. No herd. Look at verse 18. Yet, I will
rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. Believers always have reason
to rejoice in God our Savior. We also learn from this statement
that Mary makes that the Lord Jesus Christ is none other than
Almighty God. That's why he says in Isaiah
45, look unto me and be ye saved. I am God. Beside me there is
no other. Look unto me and be ye saved.
I am the only just God and Savior. Now look back at Luke chapter
1 verse 46. Mary said, and this is my song. I'm making it mine. This is Tom's
song. My soul does magnify the Lord. My spirit hath rejoiced in God
my Saviour." Now, look at verse 48. For, or because, he hath
regarded the low state of his handmaid." Now that word,
handmaiden, as I pointed out before, is literally a female
slave. Mary said, Lord, I am your servant. For behold, from henceforth all
generations shall call me one who is blessed of the Lord. The
low estate of thy handmaid. You see, my friend, we can learn
from Mary's song here, salvation is for sinners. Salvation is
for sinners. The Lord our God, our Savior,
knows our low... How low are we? Yeah, my low
life. I mean, you're talking about
a low life. Our lowest state. And He's talking about our sinful
state. Our guilty state. Now, turn to
the book of Romans. How sinful, how guilty are we?
In the flesh, no man can please God. Romans chapter 3. The carnal
mind is enmity against God. Romans chapter 3 says in the
last part of verse 9, we have proved both Jew and Gentile that
they're all under sin. There is none righteous, no not
one. Does that include you? You're
a low life. God is holy and we are low. He
is high and we're unholy. He is high and we are low. He
is holy and we're unholy. There is none righteous, no,
not one. There is none that understandeth. There is none that seeketh after
God. They're all gone out of the way. They are together to
become unprofitable. There is none that doeth good,
no, not one. Notice verse 23 in Romans 3. All have sinned and come short
of the glory of God. We all, by nature, are in a state
of guilt and condemnation. How did we get that way? Stay
right here in Romans. Turn to Romans chapter 5. How
did we get that way? It wasn't through a process of
evolution. We were born in sin, shapen in iniquity. As it says
in Romans 5 verse 12, we call this federal headship and representation. In Adam all died, wherefore as
by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, that's
original sin, original guilt, which was imputed and reckoned
to all of Adam's race. Wherefore, if by one man sin
entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon
all men, for that all have sinned." Now look at Romans chapter 5
verse 19. How did we get into this state
of sin? Sin entered in by one man. When Adam sinned against
God, we sinned in him because we were in him. His guilt has
been charged to you. What is your state? Guilty. Guilty
as charged. You say, well, I don't like that
arrangement. You better, because look at verse 19 of Romans 5.
You see, God is going to raise us in the same way that we became
fallen, only in a different man. This is what we call federal
headship and representation. And Adam all died, even so in
Christ shall all be made alive. Look at verse 19. For by one
man's disobedience, many were made sinners." That's Adam's
disobedience. So by the obedience of another,
of one, who is that? The God-man mediator, the second
Adam he's called, the Lord from heaven, shall many be made righteous. You see that? In Adam all died,
in Christ all shall be made alive. We are raised in the same way
we are fallen, only in a different man. You see that? That's the
blessedness of the gospel. Representation. Federal headship. A lot of folks don't know much
about that anymore. But back years ago, the old timers,
they preached that constantly. Federal headship. Representation
in Christ. What happened in the garden?
What happened in Calvary? The Lord accomplished salvation
for us with His own blood. Now do you know who the Lord
Jesus Christ came to save? Whom did He come to save? He
came to save those who were in a low estate. He said in Matthew 13, when the
Pharisees complained about the Lord Jesus Christ, He was hanging
out with the low life, the Pharisees, the publicans and the sinners.
And they complained to His disciples and said, why does your master
hang out with those low lives? Remember what he said? The well
don't need a physician, but those who are sick. I didn't come to
call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. I want you to
find this scripture. Let's turn back to 1 Timothy
chapter 1 again, and let's look at verse 15. 1 Timothy 1 verse
15. Who did the Lord Jesus Christ
come to save? Sinners. Good folks don't need
a Savior. Mary said, I rejoice in God my
Savior. Look at verse 15. 1 Timothy 1
verse 15. This is a faithful saying, worthy
of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to
save sinners. Paul said, I'm the chief one.
Now, are you a sinner? You need the Lord Jesus Christ
to be God, your Savior. Turn back again to Romans 5 one
more time. Romans chapter 5. You can find
it a little bit easier now because we were just there. Romans chapter
5. Who did the Lord Jesus Christ
die for? He came to save sinners. For
whom did He die? Look what it says. Romans 5 verse
6, For when we were yet without strength in due time, Christ
died for thee. What's that word? Can you identify
with that word? Ungodly. Ungodly. Now the Lord has given to us
many great, exceeding great and precious promises. There is promise
for sinners, promise of salvation for sinners. Do you meet the
character of the promise? Do you meet the character of
the promise? He promised to save sinners. Do you meet that character?
Are you ungodly? Well, it could be a good possibility
the Lord Jesus Christ died for you. You see, He lifts the beggar
from the dunghill. A moment ago in 1 Samuel chapter
2. Sinners saved by His grace are
indeed blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in
the Lord Jesus Christ. As Mary says in the last part
of verse 48, and this is true of every believer. From henceforth,
all generations shall call every believer blessed. He's blessed
us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in the Lord
Jesus Christ. Mary's hope of salvation is exactly
my hope of salvation in God my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now I love verse 49. I love all these verses, but
verse 49 stands out to me. Verse 49 of Luke 1. For He that
is mighty hath done to me great things,
and His name is holy." Back in Psalm 111. You see the reference
there? His name is holy. Holy is His
name. You see the reference Psalm 111.9? Holy and reverent is His name. He sent redemption unto His people. Holy and reverent is His name. That's why we never call any
sinner Reverend Jones or Reverend Smith, because my name is sinner. His name is holy. Holy and mighty. The mighty God
has done to me great things. Hannah said this, There is none
holy as the Lord, for there is none beside thee, neither is
there any rock like our salvation. Salvation that we as sinners
so freely enjoy is based upon the work of the Lord Jesus Christ
done for us, satisfying His own holy law. For it says, we are
justified freely by His grace through the redemption of the
Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ suffered
once for our sins, the just for the unjust. being put to death
in the flesh, that He might bring us unto God. The Lord Jesus Christ
is our sin offering. He's done a great work of salvation
for us, honoring and satisfying His own offended law. But let
us never forget the work of salvation also includes the Holy Spirit
applying what the Lord Jesus Christ has accomplished for us,
applying that unto our heart. He's done a great work for us,
and He has done to me a great thing. That is the work of grace
in us. Christ in you is the hope of
glory. The work of God the Holy Spirit
applying that salvation within us It's called the work of Holy
Spirit conviction, taking the things of Christ and revealing
them unto us. God who has begun a good work
in you, He'll finish it in the day of His power. You see, regeneration
is a work of God. Regeneration is not you making
some decision. Regeneration is the mighty work
of God in your heart. You hath He quickened who were
dead in trespasses and in sin. Turn over here to John chapter
1. He that is mighty hath done to me great things. You see, except a man be born
again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. How can that
be? With the mighty God, all things
are possible. Look at John chapter 1. Verse
11, John 1, 11, "...he came unto his own, his own received him
not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power, right,
or privilege to become sons of God, even to them that believe
on his name." Now there's not a period there, is there? "...colon,
which were born." Not of blood, not of fleshly inheritance, nor
of the will of man, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man. They believe the gospel, receive the gospel because
they're born of God. They've been quickened and begotten
by the Holy Spirit of God. How much power does it take to
raise up a dead man? It takes almighty power, doesn't
it? He that is mighty hath done to me great things, and holy
is his name. You see, the gospel of Christ
is the power of God unto salvation. We only believe the gospel according
to the working of His mighty power, Ephesians chapter 1. Now
you remember the story of the wild naked man running loose
in the tombs who met the Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord did
a work of grace in his heart. He made him a new creature. Turn
back to Mark chapter 5. And he has the same testimony
that Mary has. He that is mighty hath done to
me great things. Mark chapter 5. Verse 18, when he was coming
to the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed
him, asked him that he might be with him. Mark 5 verse 19,
Howbeit the Lord Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him,
Go home to thy friends, and tell how great things the Lord hath
done for thee. You see, it's exactly the same
testimony, isn't it? He that is mighty hath done to
me great things. and had compassion on me. So
what's gonna happen, look at verse 20, Mark 5, and he departed,
began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done
for him, and all men did marvel. You see, our testimony is this,
that salvation is of the Lord, in its origination, in its execution,
in its application, in its sustaining power, in its ultimate perfection.
Salvation is of the Lord. Now look back to the text. Luke
chapter 1 verse 49, He that is mighty, He is the mighty God. Beside Him there is no other,
and He hath done to me great things. You see, salvation is
all of His doing. And salvation is called, how
shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? And His name is Holy. Now, He
saves sinners in such a way that magnifies His holiness and magnifies
His mercy at the same time. Mercy and truth are met together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. How did that
happen? At the cross. at the cross. He saved sinners
by His blood, justified freely by His grace to the redeeming
blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, let's read on in Luke chapter
1 verse 50, verse 54, and verse 55. And His mercy, His mercy
is on them that fear Him. The beginning of wisdom is the
fear of the Lord. The ungodly have no fear of God. His mercy is on them that fear
Him, that reverence His name from generation to generation,
generation after generation. Look at verse 54. He mentions
this mercy again. He hath hopened, and that word
means help. His servant, Israel, in remembrance
of His mercy, and His mercies are covenant mercy. Look at verse
55, As He spake to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed, and
that seed there is Christ, forever. Lord in wrath, remember mercy. His mercy and His mercies are
covenant mercies upon His people. The God of peace that brought
again from the dead the Lord Jesus Christ to the blood of
the everlasting covenant. David called them the sure mercies
of God. God had made with me an everlasting
covenant ordered in all things and assured this is all my hope
and all my salvation. The salvation of the Lord's elect
is according to his eternal covenant of grace by which he shows mercy
unto his chosen. You see, we read in Lamentations
3, it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed. Titus
chapter 3 says, not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to His mercy He saved us. Not by works, but
according to His mercy He saved us. Now the mercy of God that's
revealed in the Word of God is sovereign mercy. What do I mean
by sovereign mercy? That means you can't earn it.
That means you don't deserve it. That means the Lord shows
mercy to whom He will. It says that in Romans chapter
9. Not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God
that shows mercy. Moses asked the Lord to show
me Your glory. You remember what he said? I'll
have mercy upon whom I will have mercy. I'm going to take my place
as a sinner before His sovereign holy throne as a mercy beggar. and plead for mercy. He said,
come boldly unto the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy,
find grace to help in time of need. You remember how the publican
prayed in the temple? Lord, be merciful to me, thee
sinner. And you know what? Mercy beggars
are never turned away from the throne of mercy. If you come
to the throne of mercy by faith, looking to the Lord Jesus Christ,
begging God for mercy, He delights to show mercy to sinners. We
read a moment ago in 1 Samuel 2, He raises up the poor out
of the dust. He lifts up the beggar from the
dunghill. I'm a mercy beggar. How about
you? from the dunghill to set them among princes, to make them
inherit the throne of glory." Now look at verse 51 and 52 of
Luke 1. He has showed His strength with
His arm, His power. He scattered the proud in their
imagination. He hath put down the mighty from
their seats and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled
the hungry with good things and the rich He sent away empty. Blessed are the poor in spirit.
Theirs is the kingdom of God." Notice carefully the Lord's almighty
power to humble the proud and arrogant sinner. Thank God that
He said those that walk in pride, He's able to abase. He's able
to save all. He's able to save to the uttermost
all that come to God by Him. I read this in our Wednesday
night Bible study, but I'm going to read it again. This is an
article that I found in a bulletin by Pastor Mahan back in 1980. In the kingdom of God, the way
up is down. The way to live is to die. The
way to strength is weakness. The way to be wise is to become
a fool for Christ's sake. The way to be clothed in His
righteousness is to be stripped of my own. In the kingdom of God, the way
to receive is to give. The way to reign is to serve.
If God does not turn our affections, our interests, from this world, of this ungodly
world, I will perish in my sin. That's true, isn't it? That's
why Jeremiah prayed this. Turn thou unto me, and I shall
be turned. Turn thou me, Lord, and I shall
be turned." The psalmist said in Psalm 34, "...the Lord has
nighed them of a broken heart, save as such as be of a contrite
spirit." He has showed His strength. He has scattered the proud in
their imaginations of their heart. He put down the mighty from their
seats and He has exalted them of low degree. You see the way up. It's not
up, it's down. The way to be clothed is to be
stripped by the Lord. None can stay His mighty arm,
and that refers to the strength of His mighty power. Psalm 98,
O sing unto the Lord a new song, for He hath done marvelous things.
His right hand and His holy arm hath gotten Him to victory. The
Lord has exalted them of low degree. 1 Samuel 2, the Lord
killeth, maketh alive. He bringeth down to the grave,
and the Lord bringeth up. The Lord maketh poor, he maketh
rich. He bringeth low, and he lifts
up. We see the gospel of God's grace
here as well, don't we? No one was made of lower degree
than when the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary was made sin for us. God made Him to be sin for us
who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of
God in Him. The Apostle put it this way,
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though
He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through
His poverty might be made rich. No one is lower than the Lord
Jesus Christ when He was made sin for us. And no one has been
exalted to a higher degree than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
When He by Himself purged our sin, He sat down on the right
hand of the throne of God." And you know what? That's good news
to every sinner that trusts the Lord Jesus Christ for all of
salvation. And let me show you why. Turn
to Ephesians chapter 2. He became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross, wherefore God hath highly exalted
him, and given him a name which is above every name, that that
name every knee should bow, every tongue should confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. In Ephesians
chapter 2 verse 4, who is rich in mercy for his
great love, wherewith he loved us." This gets back to representation,
federal headship. "...even when we were dead in
sin, hath quickened us together with Christ, by grace are you
saved, and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the
heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might
show the exceeding riches of his grace and his kindness toward
us through Christ Jesus." You see, when He came, we were in
Him. When He died, we were in Him.
When He went in the tomb, we went in with Him. When He came
out of the tomb, we came out with Him. When He ascended to
glory, we ascended in Him. When He sat down, we sat down
in Him. You see, what He did, we did.
You see why I love representation? That's the gospel. That's the
gospel of Christ. Now, turn back to Luke chapter
1. I'll wind this up. Every believer is exalted in
Christ. See, Mary's story is our story. Mary's song is our song. Let each of us, from the depths
of our heart, sing praises unto our God and Savior, the Lord
Jesus Christ. Let us honor Him for who He is. He's God our Savior. Let us worship
Him for all that He has done. put away sin by the sacrifice
of Himself. Let us praise Him for His sovereign
mercy. He said, I will have mercy on
whom I will have mercy. Let us magnify His great faithfulness. I'm persuaded like Abraham. What
persuasion are you? I'll tell you what my persuasion
is. I'm persuaded of all that God has promised. He's able to
perform all that He has said, all that He has promised. My
soul doth magnify the Lord, my spirit hath rejoiced in God my
Savior, for He that is mighty hath done to me great things,
and holy is His name. He's filled the hungry with good
things. In Him dwells all the fullness
of the Godhead bodily, and in Christ we stand complete. He's filled the hungry with good
things, and those who are rich in themselves, He sent away empty. You see, salvation is for sinners.
Salvation is for mercy-bearing.
