Daniel 9:23-24
At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Okay, now we're looking at Daniel
chapter nine. Turn there, Daniel chapter nine.
I'm entitling the message from the words found in verse 23 of
Daniel nine. At the beginning of thy supplication,
the commandment came forth, and I'm come to show thee, this is
a messenger from heaven speaking to Daniel, his name is Gabriel,
for thou art greatly beloved were accepted in the Beloved.
Therefore understand the matter and consider the vision." That's
the title of the message, understand the matter and consider Christ. He is the vision of salvation. We have before us this prayer
of Daniel. It is his confession of sin. It is his admission of guilt
before God. Seven or eight times he mentions,
we have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we have transgressed
against God, we have broken His law. What he prayed is what we
pray. We have sinned against God. Daniel prays and confesses his
sin, admits his guilt, And he asked the Lord for mercy and
forgiveness. Daniel asked for mercy not based
upon his merit, did he? He didn't say, Lord, hear me
because of who I am. He asked for mercy based upon
the Lord being merciful. Notice verse 18 and 19 of Daniel
9. Oh my God, incline thine ear
and hear, open thine eyes and behold our desolation and the
city which is called by thy name. For we do not present our supplication
before thee for our righteousness, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive. O Lord, hearken, and do not defer,
defer not, for Thine own sake, O my God, for Thy city, and Thy
people are called by Thy name. Lord, have mercy upon me for
Christ's sake. Forgive my sin." Now, he comes
before the throne of God acknowledging that God is God, doesn't he?
You're the high, mighty, almighty God, and he comes before the
throne of God Not boasting of his merit, but rather as a beggar,
as a mercy beggar. Like the publican in the temple,
Oh Lord, God have mercy upon me, the sinner. And there was
a messenger dispatched from the throne of glory, the angel of
the Lord, he's named here, Gabriel, And he's sent with a message
of how sin is to be put away. Daniel readily confesses he's
a sinner, but don't you know he was glad to hear how sin is
put away, how his sin is put away. This messenger was sent
to Daniel, probably the same messenger that was sent to Mary
and Joseph, because it contained the exact same message. Remember
the messenger from heaven? Sent to Joseph, sent to Mary.
Call his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sin. One of the clearest statements
found in the Old Testament concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah,
and his glorious redeeming work that he would perform for us
is found right here in verse 24. to finish transgression, to make
an end of sin, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting
righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint
the Most Holy." Now, what good news? You know who that's good
news to? To the guilty. To those who are
sinners. This message was great comfort
to Daniel. who approach God as a guilty
sinner. And it's great comfort to every believer to know that
the Lord Jesus Christ has put away our sin completely and eternally. I'm a sinner. I can't put away
my sin. But the Lord Jesus Christ came
and did that for me, which I could not do. He put away sin by the
sacrifice of Himself. And you know what that gives
me? Comfort. I know in Christ there is therefore
now no condemnation turn back to hold your place here and find
that Daniel or rather Isaiah 40 Hold your place there in Daniel
and turn to Isaiah 40 verse 1. Comfort ye, comfort ye my people,
saith your God, Isaiah 40 verse 1. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem,
crying to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity
is pardoned. Well that's comfort isn't it?
That's comfort. For she hath received of the
Lord's hand double for all her sin. The Lord Jesus Christ is
plenteous in redemption unto his people." You see, we too
come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy
and find grace to help in time of need. You know this message. that Daniel received was a message
of comfort. It reminded me of a story when
David, King David, had committed adultery, remember, with Bathsheba,
and had killed Bathsheba's husband, Uriah the Hittite, yet the Lord
sent to David a messenger, his name was Nathan the prophet,
to tell him that his sin said, you're not going to die, God
put away your sin. Listen to what David says. This
is recorded in 2 Samuel 12. Let me read it to you. And David
said to Nathan, I've sinned against the Lord. It's the same thing
Daniel said, wasn't it? And Nathan said unto David, the
Lord hath also put away thy sin, thou shalt not die. Oh, you know that was comfort
to his heart. He knew he was guilty. He knew he sinned against
God. He knew he deserved judgment. He said that in Psalm 51. If
you judge me and send me to eternal hell, you'd be doing right. Have
mercy upon me, O God." It reminded me of another story of one rebel
named Saul of Tarsus. Do you remember his testimony?
Let's turn and read that. 1 Timothy chapter 1. Saul of
Tarsus was doing his best to stamp out the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ. He's doing his best to stamp
out the gospel. He was a blasphemer, a persecutor,
1 Timothy 1.13. He said, I'm one who caused injury
and even said amen when people were put to death for the name
of Christ, but I obtained mercy. Didn't earn it. I did it. I was
an ignorant unbeliever. And the grace of our Lord was
exceeding abundant with faith and love, which is in Christ
Jesus. The grace of our Lord was exceeding
abundant. This is a faithful saying and
worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world
to save sinners, of whom I am chief." I tell you who the gospel,
the gospel is good news to those who are guilty. The gospel is
good news to those who are miserable. because of their sin against
God. Now, don't be distracted and
confused here in Daniel 9 about the numbering of these weeks,
weeks of years. Don't miss the message by being
sidetracked to figure out all the dates, times, and places. The important thing to know is
that the Messiah that's spoken of here, the Prince that shall
come and shall be cut off, came in the exact time decreed of
God and accomplished the work the Father gave Him to do. He
came at the exact moment. He died at the exact hour that
God determined that He would die. The Lord prayed in John
17, I have finished, I have glorified thee on the earth, I have finished
the work you gave me to do. Nothing concerning our redemption
and the salvation of God's people was left to chance. blind fate,
or luck. All things were decreed of God
by His infinite, eternal decree and wisdom, and in the coming
of the Lord Jesus Christ, His death, His coming was determined
and decreed of God. We read in Acts chapter 2, Him
being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of
God, you have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain
the Lord of glory. The Lord Jesus Christ came at
the exact time when that body was prepared for Him in the womb
of the Virgin by God the Holy Spirit, That's amazing, isn't
it? God Almighty inhabited a body
made like our body apart from sin. In the fullest of time,
THE time, Galatians chapter 4, in the fullest of THE time, God
sent forth His Son made of a woman. made under the law to redeem
them that were under the law the Lord Jesus Christ is a real
man and yet he's God Almighty in one blessed person he is the
Lord Jesus Christ and he came at the exact time that was decreed
from all eternity. He was the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world. And in time He came, exact time,
He lived those 33 some years, the exact time. And He died the
appointed death at the appointed time for the appointed people
to accomplish God's appointed purpose. All things. on purpose. He works all things
at the counsel of His own will. In verse 24 of Daniel 9, this
one verse gives us a very good, clear, and complete, and powerful
description of the redeeming work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now if you read verse 24 very
carefully, how much creature merit and doing is talked about
in verse 24. None. You see, salvation is of
the Lord. It's all His doing, not our doing.
It's all His faithfulness, not ours. It's all His obedience,
not ours. In whom we have redemption through
His blood, the forgiveness of sin according to the riches of
His grace. Verse 24 of Daniel 9 gives us
a complete description of the redeeming work of the Lord Jesus
Christ. And we can say, as the Apostle
Paul said, I'm determined to know nothing among you but Jesus
Christ and Him crucified. That's what we see in verse 24.
we see his death, his obedience on the death, and we see the
Lord Jesus accomplishing all of our salvation. Now let's look
at those six things. First of all, he said, this is
determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish
thee transgression. to restrain it, to shut it up,
to finish the transgression. Now the word finish literally
means to shut up, to shut up or remove from God's sight, that
is to abolish all the transgression of God's people forever, to abolish
it. Remember the Lord's words upon
the cross and when He said, it is finished. Transgression is finished. Who finished it? Who put it away?
Who shut it up? Who put it out of sight? None
other than the Lord Jesus Christ. Now think of this, all of our
transgression, all the transgression of all of God's people that have
sinned against God all their life, of all the people of God's
elect, all their sin, all their transgression, what they committed
against God's holy law, all laid upon the Lord Jesus Christ and
He put them away. by the sacrifice of himself.
All transgression, all our transgression, all our rebellion against the
law of God, and that's what sin is. It's a willful, deliberate
revolt against God. It says back in verse 11, Yea,
all Israel have transgressed thy law. Now if you read, hold
your place there and find 1 John chapter 3. That's a good definition, one
good definition of what sin is. It's a transgression of the law.
In 1 John 3 verse 4, whosoever committeth sin transgresses also
the law, for sin is the transgression of the law. Now, to offend in
one point is to be guilty of all the law. We've sinned against
God. And you know that the Lord Jesus
Christ was manifested to take away our sin, and in Him is no
sin. We've transgressed against God.
We have broken the law of God. To offend in one point is to
be guilty of all. But think of this, all our sins
are removed out of God's sight, shut up forever, never to be
mentioned again against us. Never to be brought up. Turn
to Romans chapter 8. You remember the statement, who
can lay anything to the charge of God's elect? You remember? Romans 8 verse 31. What shall
we say then to these things? Romans 8 verse 31. If God be
for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own son,
but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also
freely give us all things? Who shall anything to the charge
of God's elect? It is God that justifies. Who
is He that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather
that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who
also He ever makes, ever lives to make intercession for us. By the Lord Jesus Christ taking
all our transgression to Himself, we are justified by His blood. He bear our sin in His own body
on the tree. Now turn again to Isaiah. Find Isaiah chapter 43, first
of all, Isaiah 43, Isaiah 43, verse 25, I, Isaiah 43, 25, I,
even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgression. Now, who blots
them out? God does. For my own sake and
will not remember thy sins. Now look at Isaiah 44 verse 21. Remember these, O Jacob and Israel,
for thou art my servant. I have formed thee, thou art
my servant. Oh Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. And they're
talking about his spiritual people. I blotted out as a thick cloud
thy transgressions, and as a cloud thy sins. Now return unto me,
for I have redeemed thee. Sing, O heavens, for the Lord
hath done it. Shout, ye lower parts of the
earth. Break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forth, and every
tree therein. For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob,
and he hath glorified himself in Israel. I have blotted out
thy transgression." Now turn to one more in Isaiah. Isaiah
53. You can quote this with me, can't
you? Isaiah 53. where it says, surely verse 4,
he hath borne our grief, carried our sorrow, yet did we esteem
him stricken, smitten, and God-inflicted. He was wounded for our transgression. He was bruised for our iniquity. The chastisement of our peace
was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. To put an end to our transgression. Now turn to the book of Psalms,
Psalm 51. You see, this is what the Lord
Jesus Christ had done for us, for His people. He put away all
our transgressions. Psalm 51, verse 1, Have mercy
upon me, O God, according to Thy lovingkindness, according
to the multitude of Thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Now, you can't blot them out.
Oh, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all our sin.
Wash me throughly from my iniquity. Cleanse me from my sin, for I
acknowledge my transgression. Wasn't the same thing Daniel
prayed in. And my sin is ever before me. Look at verse 7. Purge
me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be
whiter than the snow. Did the Lord Jesus Christ really
put away our sin? Did He really make an end to
our sin? Yeah. Turn to Psalm 103. Look
at this right here. Did He make an end of our...
Did He finish transgression? Look at Psalm 103. Look at verse
8. Psalm 103, verse 8. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always
chide, neither will He keep His anger forever. He hath not dealt
with us after our sin, nor rewarded us according to our iniquity.
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy
toward them that fear Him. As far as the east is from the
west, so far hath He removed our transgression from us." Boy,
that's good news, isn't it? Finished transgression. He finished our sin. Put it away. Now turn and look back at Daniel
chapter 9. This was determined upon thy
holy people to finish thee transgression. Secondly, to make an end, to
make an end of sins. To make an end of sins. And remember what we read in
Matthew 121, call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people
from their sin. And this is exactly what the
Lord Jesus Christ did upon Calvary Street with his own blood, the
blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleansed us from all our
sin, to make an end of sin. You know, sin is a hard thing
to put away. The blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sin.
It's impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take
away sin. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission
of sin. Sin's hard to put away, but the Lord Jesus Christ came
to make an end of our sin by taking our sin unto Himself. He made complete atonement for
all the sin of God's people. He completely covered up our
sin with His own blood. Let's turn and read about it
in Hebrews chapter 10. Turn over there. So much so that
he so completely put away our sin. He appeared once in the
end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Hebrews 9.26. Look at Hebrews 10. Hebrews 10. Verse 10, By the witch will we
are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once
for all. Hebrews 10 verse 11, Every priest
standeth daily ministering offering, oftentimes the same sacrifices
which can never take away sins. Not one sin was atoned for with
all the blood sacrifices of animals. But this man, after he offered
one sacrifice for sins forever. sat down on the right hand of
God from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his
footstool for by one offering he has perfected forever them
that are sanctified wherefore the Holy Ghost also was a witness
to us for after that he said before this is a covenant and
I'll make with them after those days said the Lord I'll put my
laws into their hearts and their minds will I write them and that's
the principles of the gospel verse 17 and their sins and iniquities
will I remember no made an end of sin. Now where remission of
these is, there's no more offering for sin. Therefore we have boldness
to come before God. Because the Lord Jesus Christ
made an end of our sin. He finished the transgression. Now thirdly, look back at Daniel
9 24. To make reconciliation To make
reconciliation or iniquity. We see these three words here
dealt with, transgression, iniquity, and sins. And the Lord took care
of all our sin problem. To make reconciliation. Reconciliation. Now let's turn
and read about it in 2 Corinthians chapter 5. 2 Corinthians chapter
5. The Lord Jesus Christ reconciled
us unto God. What was the cause of our separation? What caused Adam to be put out
of the garden? Sin, iniquity, transgression
against God. We read the scripture there in
Isaiah 59, 2, our sin has separated us from God. What's the cause
of our reconciliation? If sin is the cause of our separation,
what's the cause of our reconciliation? Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ. Look at 2 Corinthians 5, Verse
18, 2 Corinthians 5, 18. He reconciled, when that sin
question is dealt with, we no longer have separation, we have
reconciliation. We're reconciled unto God in
Christ. 2 Corinthians 5, 18. All things are of God, who reconciled
us to himself by Jesus Christ. All our reconciliation is by
the doing and dying of the Lord Jesus Christ, who has reconciled
us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry
of reconciliation to wit, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling
the world unto himself. not imputing their trespasses
unto them, and hath committed unto us the word, the message
of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors
for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us. We pray you
in Christ's stead now, be ye reconciled. Lay down your shotgun. Stop your rebellion, for God
had made him, verse 21, sin for us who knew no sin, that we might
be made the righteousness of God in him. He reconciled us
unto God by his blood sacrifice. Christ also once suffered for
our sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us unto God. He reconciled us. Turn over a few pages to Colossians
chapter 1. He reconciled us unto the Father. Colossians chapter 1 verse 19. For it pleased the Father that
in him should all fullness dwell, having made peace to the blood
of his cross, by him to reconcile all things to himself. By him
I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven,
and you that were sometimes alienated, enemies in your mind by wicked
works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through
death to present you holy, unblameable, unapprovable in his sight. He
reconciled us unto God. That's comfort, isn't it? That's
comfort. Christ's blood and righteousness
is all our reconciliation before God. Now look back at the text
one more time, Daniel chapter 9. Seventy weeks are determined
upon thy people, upon thy holy city, talking about the church,
God's elect his sheep to finish the transgression, to make an
end of sin, to make reconciliation for iniquity, Now, to bring in
everlasting righteousness. Righteousness. We must not only
be redeemed from our sin, delivered from all of our sins, iniquities,
and transgressions, but we also must have a justifying righteousness
before God, charged to our account. Now I know this, the best I can
do, God said away with it, it's filthy rag. The best righteousness
I have, man in his best state is altogether vanity. I cannot
produce the righteousness that would justify a sinner. But we
just read a moment ago, God made him sin for us, who knew no sin,
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Now let's turn
to another scripture, find Romans chapter 4. Romans chapter 4,
to bring in everlasting righteousness before God. A justifying righteousness
before God. I need righteousness charged
to my account. I need my sin put away. Romans
4. Look at verse 5. To him that worketh not, but
believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted
for righteousness. Now faith is not our righteousness.
Faith looks to the Lord Jesus Christ who is our righteousness.
Even as David also described the blessedness of the man unto
whom God imputed righteousness without works. God reckons righteousness
to our account without our deeds, without our merit, saying, Blessed
are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the
Lord will not impute sin. That's a blessed man, isn't it?
We have in the Lord Jesus Christ an everlasting, blessed righteousness. Turn to Romans 5 verse 19. Romans 5 verse 19. Christ is
the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth. Romans
10. Look at Romans 5 verse 19. For
by one man's disobedience many were made sinners. So by the
obedience of one shall many be made righteous. The Lord Jesus Christ is called
the Lord our righteousness. That's our name. Did you know
that? Turn back over to Jeremiah chapter 23. That's our name.
You know, that's His name. Wait a minute. That's His name,
right? But it's our name too. Did you
know that? That's our name. The Lord our righteousness. Let
me show you, turn to Jeremiah 23 verse 5. Behold the days come,
sayeth the Lord that I will raise up unto David a righteous branch.
Jeremiah 23, 5, "...a king shall reign and prosper and shall execute
judgment and justice in the earth," talking about the Lord Jesus
Christ, "...in His days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall
dwell safely and this is His name whereby He shall be called,
He shall be called the Lord our Righteousness." I like the way
that's written there, don't you? Capital L-O-R-D. Now, He shall
be called the Lord our Righteousness. Now, fine, put this reference
down, Jeremiah 33, 16. Let's see if I've got the right
one. Jeremiah 33, 16. Look at verse
15. Jeremiah 33, 15. He shall be
called the Lord our Righteousness. That's His name. But you know
what? We're married to Him. What's true of the head is true
of the body. were blessed in him. Jeremiah 33 15, In those
days and at that time will I cause the branch of righteousness to
grow up unto David, and he shall execute judgment and righteousness
in the land. In those days shall Judah be
saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely. And this is the name
whereby she shall be called. Oh, that's my name too. The Lord,
our righteous, that's my name. You see, I'm married to him.
He's my head. He's my representative. What's
true of the head is true of the body. Where He is, I am. What's
true of Him is true of us. He is the Lord, our righteousness. No wonder the Apostle Paul said,
I count all things but loss that I might win Christ and be found
in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that
which is through the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus Christ. He
is the Lord, our righteousness. But of him are you in Christ,
who of God is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification,
and redemption. Aren't you glad he reconciled
us? He's our righteousness. He made
an end of our sin. Finished transgression. That's
good news, isn't it? Look at the fifth thing he says,
back to the text. And to seal up the vision and
prophecy. To seal it up. Or, He's saying
here to fulfill all things. You see, the Lord Jesus Christ
died for our sin according to the Scripture. We read many times
through the Gospel, this was done and that was done, that
it might be fulfilled, which is spoken by the prophet, Behold,
a virgin shall conceive and be with child. And His name shall
be called Immanuel. To Him give all the prophets
witness. The Lord Jesus Christ came in
the fullness of the time and He fulfilled all things for us. He fulfilled all Scripture. No other Messiah, Christ, is
expected because He's already come. Don't look for another. There is no other Mediator but
Christ. There is no other Savior but
the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other sacrifice for
sin but the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other righteousness
but the Lord Jesus Christ. You see, He sealed up the vision. He finished the work. He is the
Prophet who tells the truth about salvation. Know the name under
heaven given among men whereby we must be saved in Christ. Christ
has come, the last and greatest prophet of all, with the full
revelation of the divine will of God, how God saves sinners
in the Lord Jesus Christ. Consider Him. Now, the last thing
that He mentions, to seal up the vision, to finish the work
the Father gave Him to do, to fulfill all things that were
spoken of Him, and to anoint The Most Holy. Now the Lord Jesus
Christ, He is the Most Holy One, right? He is the Just One. He is the Holy One. He's the
One Son of God, but He's anointed of God, blessed of God, to accomplish
our salvation. Turn back to Isaiah one more
time. Isaiah 61. Isaiah 61. The Spirit of the
Lord, verse 1. is upon me, because the Lord
hath anointed me, Jehovah the Father hath anointed me, to preach
good tidings unto the meek. He hath sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening
of the prison to them that are bound, to proclaim the acceptable
year of the Lord, the year of Jubilee, day of vengeance of
our God, to comfort all that mourn, to point unto them that
morn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of
joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
that they might be called the trees of righteousness, the planting
of the Lord, that he might be glorified. He is the Most Holy and He is
the Anointed Holy Prophet. He is the Anointed Holy Priest.
He is the Anointed Holy King to fulfill all things for us. And because the Lord Jesus Christ
came as a representative man, you know who else is holy? Those in Him. those in Him. We read it just a moment ago.
He presents us before the Father, holy, without blemish, without
spot, in Him. He presents the church that He
bought with His own blood, washed in His own blood. He presents
it unto the Father as His holy church, His holy bride. Turn over here to Ephesians chapter
5. Ephesians chapter 5. You see, because the head is
most holy and anointed, we are his body, what's true of him
is true of us. Ephesians chapter 5. Verse 25,
husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church
and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse
it with the washing of water by the word, and that's the work
of God the Holy Spirit, that he might present it to himself
a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing,
but that it should be holy and without blemish. You see, we
are anointed in Him and we are blessed with all spiritual blessings
in the heavenlies in the Lord Jesus Christ. He's able to keep
us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence
of God's glory with exceeding joy to the only wise God our
Savior be glory and majesty and dominion and power both now and
forever. Amen. Now in closing, let me
ask you this. Do you see your need of the Lord
Jesus Christ to do all these things for you? Or do you think,
no, I think I can just get it done on my own. No, you can't.
Don't go there. Do you see your need of the Lord
Jesus Christ to reconcile you unto God? To be your righteousness
before God? To put away your sin before God?
To put away your sin knowing that you can't do anything about
your own sin. To reconcile you before God knowing
that you cannot satisfy the thrice holy God and His holy law. Do you see your need of Christ
to bring in and freely give to you a justifying righteousness
before God and to fulfill all things for you? Oh, may God show
you your need, your need of Christ. Do you see your need of Him to
make you holy by His doing, not ours? You see, all our doing
is No good. Our Lord said to those Pharisees,
you are they that justify yourself before men. But God knows your
heart. That which is highly esteemed
among men is an abomination in God's sight. Oh, may God be pleased
to show us again our great need of the Lord Jesus Christ and
how God supplies all our need according to His riches through
the Lord Jesus Christ, according to His riches in glory through
the Lord Jesus Christ. And oh, may God give us grace
to look to Him in saving faith and consider Christ as all of
our salvation, not only to consider Him, but to trust Him. Oh for grace to trust the Lord
Jesus Christ, the successful Savior, He is the Savior that
really saves. He is the Redeemer who really
redeems. Who really reconciles us unto
God in Christ. He's the one I need. I'm a needy
creature. He meets all my need according
to His riches in glory through Christ.
