That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; - Philippians 3:10
That I may know the Lord Jesus Christ! Not just know some things about Him, but to know him in the sweet fellowship of his Word and Spirit—to know Him, to see Him, to hear Him, and to commune with him here in faith, which he has given; soon to be in his presence forever! Do I count all else but dung that I may know Him? Does all else disappear into nothingness in the light of his glory? Does all that I am in this flesh melt into a cesspool of muck, as I look upon the Lamb of God? If not, then I fear I do not know Him. If yes, then I rejoice with unspeakable joy in the knowledge of him that is altogether lovely! I know whom I have believed (2 Tm 1:12).
